Madam White confronts her son Frank about his rumored involvement with Joanna, a married woman. She expresses strong disapproval, viewing Joanna as undisciplined and a bad influence due to her background. Frank, however, vehemently defends Joanna, stating she avoids him and that it's he who pursues her. He then turns the accusations back on his mother and the Parker family, criticizing their upbringing and moral failings.

Lady Parker's eyes widened in disbelief, astonished that her son would utter such words. He had, in essence, defended another woman, boldly accusing his own mother of parental negligence and a failure to fulfill her duties.

The accusation sent Lady Parker into a near-frenzy of rage. She became convinced that her son had fallen under some kind of spell.

Beneath the surface, her disdain for Joanna Lawrence intensified, blossoming into outright disgust.

"Frank, are you actually accusing me?" Lady Parker inquired, her voice laced with a profound sense of betrayal. "You're finding fault with me, all for the sake of that woman. Has she truly become more important to you than your own mother?"

"Because of her in the past, our Parker family and the Heath family ceased all association. Furthermore, the Parker Group endured significant setbacks. Do you intend to continue down this path, acting on her behalf, and invite even greater ridicule upon us, transforming our Parker family into the universal laughingstock?"

"Even if you personally don't care about losing face, I most certainly do! Do you have any idea what was being said when they called me, inquiring about you and her? Because of that woman from the Kelloway family, many individuals have already engaged in gossip concerning our Parker family. Now, it appears you've become infatuated with a married woman."

"Are you intent on utterly shaming our Parker family?"

Facing Lady Parker's barrage of accusations, Frank Parker remained impassive, his expression chillingly devoid of emotion. He met his mother's gaze with an air of detached indifference. "If you genuinely believe I have brought you shame, embarrassed the Parker family, and caused you to lose face, then you are welcome to sever all ties with me, your supposedly disgraceful son."

"Sever our relationship?" Lady Parker echoed, taken aback. "What exactly are you suggesting?"

"You can disown me."

With an unnervingly calm and dispassionate tone, Frank Parker voiced the most brutal ultimatum imaginable, as if discussing an inconsequential matter entirely separate from himself.

The suggestion to dissolve the maternal bond was delivered as casually as idle conversation.

Lady Parker's face drained of color. Slowly, she lifted her head, her gaze fixed upon him in utter disbelief.

"You... you wish to end our mother-son relationship for that woman?"

"It's not that I desire to sever our relationship," Frank clarified, maintaining his composure. "You claimed I've caused you to lose face. If that is the case, then if we are no longer mother and son, no one can possibly link my actions to the Parker family."

"And consequently, you will no longer be subjected to ridicule."

This time, Lady Parker comprehended his words with stark clarity.

The son she had cherished since his infancy had just proposed severing their familial connection.

He was prepared to cut ties with his own mother for the sake of a married woman!

Overcome with incandescent rage, Lady Parker's entire body began to tremble.

"Very well. You desire to sever our relationship? Then you might as well completely cut yourself off from the Parker family. Cease all claims of being the young master of the Parker family and the CEO of the Parker Group. If you are determined to sever ties, then do so completely and irrevocably. Henceforth, all affairs pertaining to the Parker family shall have absolutely no bearing on you."

"If you possess the audacity to follow through with this, I will have no concern whether you are fixated on a married woman, nor will I care if you commit a crime. It will have no connection whatsoever to me or the Parker family!"

Lady Parker spewed these words with palpable fury.

She found it utterly inconceivable that Frank would discard everything associated with the Parker family for a single woman, that he would forsake his prestigious identity as Mr. Parker and his current life of privilege.

Therefore, despite uttering these words in the throes of extreme shock, she harbored absolute certainty that Frank would never dare to actually do it.
