My Secret Billionaire Husband Chapter 2774: 2782: Coldly rejecting someone

Following the sign-in process, Kelvin Norman noticed it was nearly noon and proposed, “Let us grab some lunch; the meal is on me.”
Neither Joanna Lawrence nor Porter Rushbrook stood on ceremony, both giving a quick nod and replying, “Sounds great.”
Porter proved to be even more shameless, immediately pulling out his phone to scout the most expensive and exquisite dining spots in Cascade via a food application.
“Mr. Norman, this French establishment has stellar reviews. Shall we dine there?” Porter wasted no time selecting a high-end venue where the bill usually hit five figures per person, showing absolutely no mercy toward Kelvin’s wallet.
Kelvin gave his phone a brief, symbolic look before stating, “Alright, let’s choose that one. Is the distance manageable?”
“It is quite close, maybe ten minutes away by cab.” Porter clearly had a handle on the city’s geography. As an obsessive gourmet, he prided himself on knowing every detail regarding local eats.
Kelvin nodded in agreement, “Let’s hail a taxi immediately.”
As it was the peak of the lunch hour, finding a car proved difficult. The trio waited roadside for nearly ten minutes before a vehicle finally pulled up.
Just as they reached for the door handle, a female voice called out from behind them.
“Pardon me, seniors, are you heading to lunch? Would you mind if I joined you? I am new to this city and unfamiliar with the area. I really have no idea which places are worth visiting. May I accompany you all?”
Joanna and her companions, who were in the middle of boarding the car, froze in their tracks.
Turning around to face the woman, Kelvin maintained a neutral expression, whereas Porter and Joanna were visibly taken aback.
Porter eyed Omega Huntley, who stood across from them with a sweet, charming smile, then glanced over at Joanna. After a brief internal assessment, he decided that Joanna was significantly more attractive.
In fact, Joanna completely eclipsed Omega in terms of natural beauty.
Omega had appeared somewhat similar to Joanna during her livestreams, yet in reality, the resemblance was far less striking.
Furthermore, Porter realized within moments that Omega had clearly undergone plastic surgery.
While the procedures looked relatively natural, she had undeniably been under the knife. It might stay hidden behind layers of makeup or camera filters, but in person, it was exceptionally obvious.
Suspecting that Omega had likely modeled her surgery after Joanna, Porter felt an instant, deep-seated dislike for the newcomer.
Copying someone’s appearance was one thing, but shamelessly riding on their coattails—and having the audacity to appear on the same program as the original—was utterly intolerable.
Consequently, even with the cameras rolling, Porter spoke up before Kelvin or Joanna could utter a word, stating bluntly, “I apologize, but that is not possible. We have private matters to discuss, and having an acquaintance present would be quite inconvenient.”
“Besides, this is our first time in Cascade, so we are just as lost as you are. If you are looking for a good restaurant recommendation, you should ask a local.”
What an absurd request.
Expect them to share a table with this low-rent version of Joanna? Even if Joanna was fine with it, the sight alone would make him lose his appetite.
Joanna had been busy brainstorming a polite way to decline, only to have Porter cut the tension with his brutal rejection.
Joanna: “…”
Wasn’t that a bit harsh, even for Porter?
To turn her down so aggressively, without a hint of tact—had he completely forgotten they were being filmed?
