The protagonist met with his father, who gave him a crystal that promises immense power at the cost of becoming what a cosmic horror designed him to be. He then returned home to Natalia, who is angry about his dangerous decision to undergo the integration process but ultimately decides to spend their remaining time together before he isolates himself for three days.

Right. The night I’d made her come with our parents sitting six feet away. The night everything had changed.

"Point taken."

She climbed off my lap and stood before me. The lace had become nearly transparent from friction and heat. I could see everything. The pink of her nipples. The dark shadow between her thighs. The flush spreading across her chest.

"Strip."

I obeyed.

The pants came off. The underwear followed. I sat naked on the couch while she appraised me like a buyer examining merchandise.

"You’ve gotten bigger."

"The System provides."

"I wasn’t talking about your muscles."

She dropped to her knees between my legs. Her hands found my thighs. Her breath ghosted across skin that was already painfully sensitive.

"Every time you were with her," Natalia said quietly, "I felt it. Every kiss. Every touch. Every moment of pleasure that should have been mine."

"Natalia..."

"I’m not finished." She looked up at me through her lashes. The violet of her eyes had darkened to something approaching black. "I’m not angry that you were with Reyna. I knew what I was agreeing to when I accepted your impossible proposal. Multiple women. Shared attention. A king with a court rather than a king with a single queen."

Her tongue traced a line from base to tip. My entire body shuddered.

"But I am going to remind you," she continued, her breath warm against my length, "that no matter how many women you collect, no matter how powerful they become, no matter how useful they prove to your grand plans... I was first. I will always be first. And you will remember exactly what that means."

She took me into her mouth.

The Nectar surged through our bond. Every sensation doubled. Tripled. I felt my pleasure reflected through her, felt her arousal spike as she worked me with lips and tongue and the barest hint of teeth. The crystal in the satchel pulsed in sync with our heartbeats, as though even alien technology could sense the intensity of what was happening.

Minutes passed. Hours. Time became meaningless.

When she finally pulled back, her lips swollen and her eyes glazed, she smiled the smile of a woman who had won.

"Upstairs. Now. I’m not done with you."

I stood on legs that weren’t entirely steady. She took my hand and led me toward the stairs.

The pendant burned cold against my chest. But the cold wasn’t fear anymore.

It was anticipation.

The bedroom door closed behind us. Natalia pushed me onto the bed and followed me down, her body covering mine like a second skin.

"Tell me everything," she said. "Everything your father told you. Everything you’re planning. Everything you’re afraid of."

"While we’re doing this?"

"Especially while we’re doing this." She positioned herself above me. The lace was gone now, discarded somewhere between the couch and the bed. "I want to feel your thoughts while I’m feeling your body. I want to know exactly what you’re hiding."

She sank down onto me in one smooth motion.

The world went white.

Through the bond, I felt everything she felt. The stretch as she adjusted. The fullness that bordered on too much. The sparks of pleasure radiating outward from where we joined.

"Now talk," she commanded.

And I did.

I told her about the entity. About the message my father received before I was even conceived. About the consciousness transfer that had been planned for me since before my birth.

She moved above me as I spoke. Slow rolls of her hips that drove me deeper with each word.

I told her about Helena Vasquez. About the dead partner. About the inside source we might cultivate within the VHC.

Her pace increased. Her breath came faster. The bond sang with shared sensation.

I told her about the integration. The three days. The potential for power beyond anything we’d imagined.

She came with a cry that echoed through the empty house. Her walls clenched around me. The feedback loop threatened to drag me over the edge with her.

But she wasn’t done.

"More," she gasped. "Tell me more."

I flipped our positions. Pinned her wrists above her head. Drove into her with the accumulated frustration of three days apart and a father’s revelations and a cosmic entity’s incomprehensible plans.

I told her about my fears. About becoming something that even I couldn’t recognize. About losing the parts of myself that made me human.

She wrapped her legs around my waist and pulled me deeper.

I told her about the woman in New Vein City. Helena Vasquez. The key to the VHC’s darkest archives. The target that might give us the leverage we needed.

She arched beneath me, her body bowing like a drawn string.

I told her about the choice. The path the entity had designed for me. The weapon I might become.

She screamed my name as she peaked again. The sound was raw and primal and absolutely perfect.

And finally, I let go.

The release crashed through me like a wave breaking against cliffs. The bond amplified everything until I couldn’t tell where I ended and she began. We were one entity, one consciousness, one purpose.

In that moment, I understood what my father had tried to create.

Integration. Synthesis. Two becoming one while remaining distinct.

Natalia and I weren’t there yet. But we were closer than anyone had any right to be.

We lay tangled together in the aftermath, sweat cooling on our skin, hearts gradually slowing to normal rhythm. The afternoon sun painted golden squares across the bedroom walls.

"Helena Vasquez," Natalia murmured against my chest. "That’s your next move."

"Our next move."

"Ours." She traced patterns on my skin with one lazy finger. "I’ll start researching tonight. Background. Habits. Vulnerabilities. By the time you need to approach her, we’ll know everything."

"You’re incredible."

"I know." She lifted her head and met my eyes. "And when you go into isolation for your integration, I’ll be watching through the bond. Every second. Every moment. If something goes wrong, I’ll find a way to bring you back."

"That’s not how the process works."

"I don’t care how it’s supposed to work. I care about keeping you alive." Her voice hardened. "The entity might have designed you for its purposes. But you belong to me. And I don’t let go of what’s mine."
