My Longevity Simulation Chapter 1243: Raising the Sword Toward Ruomu
Previously on My Longevity Simulation...
A dazzling radiance emanated from the golden cube, and within the absolute darkness of this pocket dimension, Li Ping’s voice resonated endlessly.
Once the primal fear subsided, an intense, uncontrollable yearning for the sealed object within the golden cube surged within Su Yuqing’s heart.
Even the unborn child within her womb mirrored this potent desire.
“You and the Heavenly Dao of this nascent world, still in the process of gestating and awakening, share a certain kinship. The method your master is bestowing upon you will allow for gradual refinement and absorption. This process could equate to centuries of arduous cultivation.”
As Li Ping’s voice sounded once more, a technique of profound wonder imprinted itself upon Su Yuqing’s mind.
It presented as a secret art, yet also a formation, or perhaps an enigmatic fusion of both. Its complexity was immense, making comprehension a challenge even for Su Yuqing’s keen intellect.
“This realm holds immense significance for your master and the entirety of the Great Qi Holy Dynasty. Upon devouring and refining the Heavenly Dao consciousness of this realm, you shall assume its mantle, wielding supreme authority within this world. With you as its guardian, your master can depart with peace of mind.”
It was only then that Su Yuqing grasped the full implication.
Despite the arduous nature of the task, Su Yuqing had always possessed a serene, detached disposition, free from excessive worldly desires. Furthermore, cultivating by embodying this realm’s Heavenly Dao presented the most expedited path for her advancement, promising substantial benefits for her daughter as well.
“I shall heed Master’s command.” Su Yuqing drew a steadying breath.“Master, I do not wish to remain here! It is so dreadfully dark!” Daoist Child Liuli frantically shook her head.
Li Ping showed no inclination towards indulgence.
With a gentle rap of his knuckle against Liuli’s head, he spoke in a resonant tone: “Light and darkness are two facets of the same essence. Without darkness, light loses its meaning, and vice versa. As the Glazed Wisdom Fruit, your cultivation comes easily. However, this ease also represents your critical vulnerability…”
Liuli listened, her wide eyes taking in his words, understanding dawning gradually. Her intuition assured her that her somewhat formidable master was speaking the truth.
“Your progress is swift, yet when compared to human cultivators, your ultimate potential is inherently capped. To surpass this limitation, you must draw upon the principles of ‘Glazed’ and ‘Wisdom.’ This very place offers the opportunity to gain profound insights into both.”
“As the youngest among your master’s disciples, you shall naturally not be shortchanged in terms of boons.”
Another sphere of light materialized in Li Ping’s hand. Unlike the preceding golden cube, this was not a seal but a pure concentration of essence.
Daoist Child Liuli instinctively licked her lips. The mere sight of the luminous sphere evoked a sensation of hunger in her stomach.
She reached out to grasp it, but the light sphere proved ethereal, slipping through her palm. Annoyance flared within Liuli as she waved her hands repeatedly, all to no avail.
Such a supreme delicacy lay tantalizingly close, yet she could only observe, unable to partake. Gripped by vexation, she teetered on the brink of tears.
“Maste…” Liuli looked up at Li Ping, her eyes welling with eager anticipation.
Li Ping offered a gentle smile. “This source power essence is imbued with two layers of restrictions, imposed by your master. These will only be lifted once you achieve a breakthrough in either Wisdom or the Glazed principle.”
“Furthermore, upon breaking through your inherent limit, this energy will serve to fully stabilize your newly transformed state.”
Daoist Child Liuli fixed her gaze upon the sphere of source power essence, nodding with fervent conviction.
“The Heavenly Dao is impartial, regarding all beings as ephemeral reflections. When you command this realm, let nature be your guide. Ascend to a position of detached oversight. Unless absolutely imperative, it is best to refrain from direct intervention in the affairs of ordinary sentient beings.”
Li Ping’s words lingered as his form abruptly dissolved, vanishing from the realm.
Su Yuqing recalled her master’s customary bearing amongst the populace of Great Qi and lapsed into deep contemplation.
“The You Clan?” Su Yuqing commenced her examination of the various materials her master had imprinted upon her mind.
Meanwhile, Daoist Child Liuli continued to survey her surroundings, her focus fixated on discovering the path to surmount her limitations.
...
Xuanhuang Realm.
Wang Xuanba had now returned to the subterranean depths of Yueyang Prefecture.
Lin Ling accompanied him on this descent.
Lin Ling idly manipulated the wheel-shaped treasure bestowed by Li Ping, displaying a marked indifference towards the objective of subduing the Earth Vein Ancient Tree.
“Junior Sister, may we commence our task?” Wang Xuanba, feeling a degree of trepidation in the presence of his stern-faced junior sister, inquired cautiously.
“There is no need for haste. Let us wait a while longer,” Lin Ling replied, shaking her head.
“Wait? Wait for what?” Wang Xuanba questioned, a hint of surprise in his voice.
Within his perception, a considerable number of the sixteen dormant insect swarms had already broken free from their seals and were exhibiting signs of restless stirring.
“Master suggested we give it a chance. If it remains obstinate, then it won’t be too late to take action,” Lin Ling explained patiently, her brow furrowed slightly.
“Very well, we shall follow Junior Sister’s lead,” Wang Xuanba replied with a broad grin.
For a short while, the two stood in silence within the earth veins. Suddenly, Wang Xuanba sensed that immense consciousness from the Earth Vein Ancient Tree sweeping over them once more.
However, this time was different. The Earth Vein Ancient Tree did not disregard them entirely and lingered for an extended period.
Wang Xuanba observed as Lin Ling put away the wheel she held, her expression growing grave.
It appeared she was engaged in a conversation with someone.
Wang Xuanba refrained from interrupting. In truth, his nerves were already on edge. The instant Lin Ling sent a mental message, he was prepared to cooperate by unleashing all the [Dao One] insect swarms.
Initially, Lin Ling seemed to be conversing normally with the Earth Vein Ancient Tree, even offering faint smiles at times.
But without any warning, Lin Ling’s demeanor shifted dramatically.
She sternly rebuked, “I regarded you as kin, which is why I opened my heart to communicate with you just now. Why then do you utter such foolishness and urge me to defy orders?!”
“The methods employed by my master are beyond the comprehension of a mere decrepit old tree like yourself!”
Upon receiving Lin Ling’s transmitted thoughts, Wang Xuanba let out a cold chuckle. He then activated the dormant insect swarm positioned beneath Yueyang Prefecture.
A torrent of black shadows surged forth like a breached dam, an unstoppable tide rushing onward.
The surrounding yellow earth-vein currents were instantly tainted black. A faint, sharp cracking sound emanated from beneath the ground but was quickly overwhelmed by the advancing insect army.
“How does it feel to lose a tentacle?” Killing intent flickered in Lin Ling’s eyes.
“Severing thousands or even hundreds of your tentacles would be a simple matter for me.”
Wang Xuanba, understanding the cue, cooperated by awakening the remaining fifteen insect swarms. Nevertheless, he maintained a measure of control over them, using them as a show of force.
The entire Xuanhuang land quivered subtly, a consequence of the Earth Vein Ancient Tree’s fear causing a loss of its grip on the earth-vein currents.
A spectral image of a hunched old man materialized before the pair.
His gaze fixed on Lin Ling, his face etched with fear. Simultaneously, his voice carried a hint of indignation as he questioned, “I extended my sincerity. Why have you harmed me?!”
