My Longevity Simulation Chapter 1053: Meeting of the Dharma-Transmitters
Previously on My Longevity Simulation...
"Exactly; you have finally shown some improvement."
"Not only has your performance become more convincing, but your plots have actually begun to take form," the white-haired elder remarked, evaluating them.
The leader of the black-clothed cultivators became frantic: "Senior, you truly misunderstand the situation!"
He quickly commanded his subordinates to deactivate the formation's suppression on the white-haired elder. "Senior, you are free now. This surely cannot be considered an act anymore, can it?"
The white-haired elder narrowed his eyes. "The Nether Prison was a creation of my own design back in the day. If I truly intended to depart, do you think it could actually hold me?"
"To think you don't even grasp this..."
The skepticism in the white-haired elder's eyes intensified.
"I warned you they were all deceivers. Senior, you should come with me instead. I am alone; even if I had malicious intent, I could never be your equal," Li Fan observed, smiling as he spoke.
However, despite his suggestion, he made no move to step forward or welcome the white-haired elder toward him.
"You, young man..." The white-haired elder found himself unable to fathom the youth standing before him.
A mission that had initially proceeded with remarkable ease had now reached a deadlock in a manner no one could have foreseen.
With every passing second, the danger of being discovered by the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance increased.
Given the circumstances, the lead cultivator's anxiety grew. He clenched his teeth, his mind resolving to subdue the white-haired elder through strength and take him away by force.
Suddenly, a sharp sigh resonated above the assembled group.
"Old Wei, your self-assurance remains as strong as ever."
The moment that voice was heard, the faces of the black-clothed cultivators lit up with relief: "Senior Zhou!"
At the same time, the aura of the white-haired elder—Dharma-Transmitter Wei—underwent a sudden transformation.
His previously dull eyes flashed with a piercing light as he stared directly upward.
A woman wearing simple white robes, possessing a refined and clear countenance, had appeared without a sound.
Transmitter Wei observed her intently, then paused, appearing slightly confused. "It really is you..."
He looked at the group of black-clothed cultivators, his expression becoming strange. "So, what these juniors said is actually the truth?"
Dharma-Transmitter Zhou sighed once more.
"You are so obsessed with conspiracies that you view everything as a lie."
"The Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance has faced many disturbances recently. Suspecting that the Dharma-Transmitter Council has fallen into corruption, I intended to invite you out."
"However, I knew that if I came in person, I would have to look at that arrogant, detestable face of yours. That is why I sent these youngsters instead."
"Who would have thought..."
There was a peculiar quality to Dharma-Transmitter Zhou's voice, sounding weary and drained of energy.
Upon hearing this, the white-haired elder's face momentarily stiffened.
But he soon broke into a boisterous laugh, clearing the tension. To shift the focus, he immediately turned his attention toward Li Fan.
"If you are telling the truth, then what is the story with this boy?"
Li Fan remained composed and fearless, cupping his hands in a respectful greeting. "Greetings to both seniors."
"This little theater was simply a means to meet you both face-to-face."
Wei and Zhou traded looks, both wearing amused expressions.
"The people from the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance will be here shortly. We should move elsewhere."
Dharma-Transmitter Zhou swept a slender hand through the air, carving out a spatial rift. She guided the black-clothed cultivators inside.
The white-haired elder looked back at Li Fan. "Boy, do you have the courage to follow?"
Li Fan reflected for a moment before stepping into the small world with them.
"Hm? This place..."
When he saw the environment clearly, Li Fan nearly suspected he had been trapped in another illusion.
The architecture within this small world bore a shocking resemblance to the world from his life before his transmigration.
Skyscrapers rose high into the air.
A light, misty rain fell beneath a void-black night sky.
The neon lights decorating the building facades cast a strange, colorful radiance over the dark city.
This scene, both ancient and profoundly familiar, caused Li Fan to freeze in a daze for a moment.
He was not the only one.
Dharma-Transmitter Wei also seemed to find the surroundings difficult to process.
"What do you think? It is quite a view, isn't it? I took a trip to the Land of Carefree Paradise a while back and found the scenery there quite pleasant. So, I decided to replicate it."
The voice of Dharma-Transmitter Zhou drifted over unhurriedly.
Li Fan turned toward her and noticed she had already changed her attire.
She wore a crisp white blouse and well-fitted long trousers.
She had even placed a pair of black-rimmed glasses on her face.
She no longer looked like a Dharma-Transmitter; she appeared more like a modern urban beauty.
"Your preferences..."
"Are as baffling as they have always been." Dharma-Transmitter Wei shook his head, unable to appreciate the style.
"You are still stuck in your old ways, truly irritating," Dharma-Transmitter Zhou countered with a smirk.
"I find it quite impressive. Especially that outfit; it suits you perfectly, Senior," Li Fan chimed in at that moment.
The eyes of both Dharma-Transmitters fixed on Li Fan at the same time.
"Hee hee hee, the eyes of the young are always much sharper than those of certain old relics. That is exactly why I enjoy collecting young people," Dharma-Transmitter Zhou said, smiling as she looked Li Fan over.
"Boy, if you have some hidden motive, you had better speak it plainly. This old man has very little patience," Dharma-Transmitter Wei said, his expression darkening.
However, Li Fan could sense that Wei's irritation was mostly an act.
At that moment, the three of them were standing on the highest floor of the city's tallest skyscraper, where the glowing metropolis could be viewed through a massive glass wall.
The entire floor was empty of luxury except for a central desk, a sofa, and the red carpet that covered the floor.
Li Fan sat down on the sofa as if he belonged there.
He then stated his purpose for finding Dharma-Transmitter Zhou: "I want to discover the truth of what happened at the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance headquarters five years ago."
"And I want to know the current location of the real Tianxuan Mirror."
Dharma-Transmitter Wei, having been locked away for years, remained ignorant of these events.
As for Dharma-Transmitter Zhou, the bored look on her face slowly vanished. She studied Li Fan with scrutiny, trying to figure out his background.
"You appear before me out of thin air and immediately demand such highly classified information."
"Little one, where does this confidence of yours come from?"
Zhou's voice shifted from lazy to freezing. "You are merely a Nascent Soul True Lord. Even if the Cave-Heaven you have absorbed is somewhat large, you are still only at the Nascent Soul stage."
"And yet you dare to speak to me in this manner?"
Li Fan did not flinch. "I have always spoken to Dharma-Transmitters in this tone. The fact that you haven't killed me but are instead testing me with words—does that not prove the source of my confidence?"
The air grew heavy with tension once again.
But the pressure broke instantly as Dharma-Transmitter Zhou let out a captivating smile.
"You are correct."
"It has been a long time since I've met such an outstanding young man. Why don't you become one of my collectibles?"
"If you agree, I will share any secret you desire."
Dharma-Transmitter Zhou's voice returned to its usual, lazy drawl.
