My Longevity Simulation Chapter 1043: Tianxuan Mirror's Vulnerability
Previously on My Longevity Simulation...
While the findings of the inquiry offered some comfort to the members of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, a looming crisis remained at the forefront of their concerns.
What would happen if such a catastrophic disturbance occurred again?
The financial and strategic damage caused by even a single day of the Tianxuan Mirror being offline was impossible to measure.
The perpetrator had vanished without a trace, leaving everyone in the dark about how he had compromised the Tianxuan Mirror.
Worse still, they had no strategy to obstruct his future interference.
If these incidents became a recurring nightmare, the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance would never find a moment of peace.
Was there a way to shield themselves from such external chaos?
Consequently, the burden of finding a solution was placed upon the shoulders of the Mirror Holder lineage.
Ultimately, Mirror Holder Cang stepped forward to address the crisis. He argued that as an immortal artifact, the Tianxuan Mirror possessed the innate capacity for self-evolution and learning.
He claimed the Tianxuan Mirror could independently develop complete immunity to any form of attack it had already encountered once.
According to him, the current inactivity of the Tianxuan Mirror was caused by two factors: first, the mirror itself had chosen to stop functioning as a form of internal resistance; second, the restrictive prohibitions placed by the Immortal Ancestor limited the mirror's own initiative. Though the Tianxuan Mirror had the intent to act, it lacked the necessary power.
This explanation from Mirror Holder Cang was met with total agreement from the rest of the Mirror Holder lineage.
Following a rigorous investigation, even the Dharma Transmitters were forced to accept this interpretation of the situation.
With this, the path forward became narrow and clear.
The Alliance could either tighten their grip on the Tianxuan Mirror to compel it to identify and repair its own flaws.
Alternatively, they could loosen the Immortal Ancestor's seals, granting the Tianxuan Mirror access to more of its power in exchange for its cooperation.
It was a choice between forceful subjugation and diplomatic concession.
Following a period of fierce deliberation, the radical faction within the leadership eventually won out.
The [Xuantian Spirit-Sealing] initiative, which had already been under consideration, was fast-tracked for immediate execution.
Within the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, high-level commands were always carried out with ruthless efficiency.
From every corner of the Alliance's territory, master formation experts were summoned to the central hub of the Formation Hall.
Their mission was to assist in the massive undertaking of the Xuantian Spirit-Sealing plan.
A tense, heavy atmosphere began to permeate the air of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance.
Meanwhile, in a Hidden Cave-Heaven.
"The Xuantian Treasure Mirror is truly prepared to go to extremes just to gain its freedom. It has gone as far as intentionally revealing its own weaknesses," Mo Rubin remarked with a hint of awe.
"Weaknesses? It's nothing more than a calculated bait. It could fix that supposed flaw in a heartbeat if it truly wanted to." Li Fan spoke after a long silence, his expression full of contempt as he let his thoughts settle.
The various disruptions that had recently plagued the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance were, of course, the diversionary tactics suggested by the Tianxuan Mirror clone.
The cultivators who had been ruined by the mirror's malfunctions were not plants; their suffering was genuine.
"So, the error was indeed triggered by an assault on the Tianxuan Mirror.
"Once utilized, this specific vulnerability becomes useless. It won't serve much purpose for the rest of this life.
"However, if handled correctly, it provides an opportunity to plunge the Tianxuan Mirror into total disarray during every future reincarnation."
Li Fan reflected on this quietly within his mind.
"What is the status of the Spirit Sealing Plan?" Li Fan inquired.
"Things are moving forward without a hitch, don't worry. Using the body I’ve possessed to oversee things personally, I have already secretly installed the formation designed to break the Immortal Ancestor’s seal."
"I must say, the design of this seal-breaking formation is brilliant. I was worried the masters at the Formation Hall might catch on, but it turns out they can't even begin to comprehend its complexity!"
"The moment the Spirit Sealing is finalized, the Tianxuan Mirror will finally be liberated!" Mo Rubin’s voice shook with a rare sense of triumph.
"We have already compromised the head of the Formation Hall, and the Dharma Transmitters aren't the type to get their hands dirty with the actual construction of the formations. There is no real danger. Even if one of them decided to take a look, the intricate nature of that formation is beyond their ability to decode," Li Fan responded with absolute certainty.
Mo Rubin concurred: "Very few among the Dharma Transmitters have any real talent for formations. Those who do are usually too lazy to involve themselves in such mundane affairs."
After a brief pause, Li Fan added: "I’ve had another meeting with the Tianxuan Mirror clone. He promised that once he is free, he will assist us in tracking down the Xuantian King.
"By his own admission, he also wishes to escape to the Darkest Star Sea."
Mo Rubin let out a soft sigh: "It makes sense. Other than the Xuantian King, there isn't anyone else capable of leading us out of here."
He then changed his tone: "Still, we shouldn't put all our faith in the Xuantian Treasure Mirror. When our Xuantian Sect was wiped out back then, it did absolutely nothing to help, despite being an immortal artifact. That alone is suspicious. We have to be careful."
Li Fan’s brow furrowed: "What do you suggest we do?"
Mo Rubin presented an image to Li Fan. Within the shimmering light of the void, an ancient bronze mirror with a faint green glow appeared.
"What is this?"
"This is the true body of the Tianxuan Mirror, which is currently held under seal at the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance headquarters. Actually, the headquarters itself was constructed around the mirror's physical form."
"When the mirror makes its escape, it might try to substitute itself with a flawless clone. But it cannot take this bronze physical body with it. Doing so would immediately alert the entire Alliance, and possibly even the Immortal Ancestor!"
Mo Rubin’s eyes flashed with intensity: "We can use this as a bargaining chip. Before he leaves the Xuanhuang Realm for good, he will still be tied to this main body. If he betrays us, we can activate that connection and expose his flight. We might not be able to stop him, and the Alliance might fail too, but the Immortal Ancestor certainly won't."
"You should remember that Dharma Transmitter Jiang possesses a way to contact the Immortal Ancestor directly."
Li Fan considered the plan for a moment before nodding in approval: "You’ve thought this through very well."
"But is it true that among all the Transmitters, only Jiang has the means to reach the Immortal Ancestor?" Li Fan asked.
Mo Rubin confirmed: "Jiang is the only one the Immortal Ancestor truly favors. As for the others..."
He scowled: "To me, they don't seem like trusted subordinates. They are more like expendable tools."
"Tools, I see." Li Fan thought back on the Immortal Ancestor’s history and found the description fitting.
...
Having finalized their strategy, Mo Rubin prepared to leave, but Li Fan stopped him to show off a newly mastered technique.
A sickly yellow light radiated from Li Fan’s palm, a glow that felt instinctively unsettling, before his hand seemed to dive straight into the fabric of the Xuanhuang Realm's space.
The yellow radiance bled into the rift he had created.
"Brother Xingwang, what are you doing?" Mo Rubin asked, startled.
"The space here is already fragile; if you keep this up..."
His sentence died in his throat as Li Fan finished his move.
Li Fan pulled his hand back from the dark void, and clutched in his fingers was a small yellow paper figure.
"This is?" Mo Rubin’s face grew incredibly serious.
"Just taking out the trash. Some people have no respect for privacy," Li Fan remarked coolly.
