Damon confronted the Unknown God, who revealed his intention to end all suffering by ending all life. Damon's demon horn grew as he charged, but the Unknown God easily defeated him with superior swordsmanship. The Unknown God then used Damon's guilt over killing Carmen Vale to torment him, even appearing as Iris. Sylvia revealed the Unknown God's limitations, attempting to banish him from his current body. The Unknown God acknowledged the possibility but declared Sylvia the first to die, entering a dome of white void. Sylvia admitted defeat, stating she was going to die, and entered the dome. Iris, tearfully holding a sword, confronted Damon, who admitted killing her father was easy. Iris then impaled Damon with her sword.

But the one who had stabbed him was not Iris.

Her hands were still shaking, but her sword hand had stopped at his chest. She had not pushed it through.

She had frozen.

The sword had come from his back.

From the one place he had least expected it.

Damon reached toward where his heart was, blood gushing from his mouth as a bitter, metallic taste filled his throat.

He slowly turned his head.

The person who had stabbed him was standing behind him.

Her hands were shaking.

Her face was filled with fear and terror.

Tears fell from her eyes.

Damon gasped as blood spilled from his lips.

"Luna... you..."

Her eyes met his.

There was more anguish in them than Damon had ever seen.

"Y... you’re a traitor! How... how could you be a demon!"

She screamed the last word as Damon fell to his knees.

All his life, Damon had pictured everyone betraying him.

But never once, never once had he imagined that Luna would.

His own sister.

And perhaps Luna had never imagined that Damon would betray her either.

There was more than one traitor here.

The chaos of the battle resumed, but it was not as intense as before. The Outsiders were holding everyone down, while everyone else remained frozen by what they had witnessed.

"How could you, Damon? How could yo... why did you do this? Why did you become this? When did you become this? How could I be so ignorant?"

Her voice cracked.

"I know it’s because of me. In the end, I was the one who forced you onto this path..."

Her hand tightened around her sword.

"So I have to stop you... so you don’t hurt anyone else."

Damon was lost.

His heart was being gripped by despair.

His horn grew larger.

His long hair grew thicker.

Wings began to emerge from his back.

Slowly, he felt his mana changing.

Slowly, it began to become corrupted.

He could not even move.

Luna raised her sword, tears still running down her face as she prepared to kill her own brother.

The sword swung down.

But it clashed against another sword.

Iris had blocked the attack with her own, pushing Luna away.

"What are you doing, Iris? Get out of the way. This is a family matter."

"I thought I was family," Iris said.

She glanced at Luna, whose aura was slowly changing.

"You aren’t going to kill your own brother."

"No. My brother is dead. He has been for a long time. I just didn’t know it. I’m killing a demon. Let me perform my brother’s last rites."

Luna charged.

She slammed her fist into Iris, a mark glowing on her wrist as a strange power erupted from her body. Her knee smashed into Iris, blood flowing from her nose as the impact sent her staggering backward.

Then Luna moved toward Damon.

Damon slowly stood up to face her.

His face was covered in blood.

She could not even tell what expression he was making.

"Fight back," she whispered.

Damon smiled.

Then he laughed.

"I’m not going to fight my little sister."

"Then die!" she screamed.

Her sword shot toward his neck.

Damon caught it with his wrist.

He looked at her.

"Luna... I’m sorry."

She glared at him.

"For what? You’re sorry for what? Being a demon? Killing Iris’s father? Lying and betraying everything our parents stood for? What are you sorry for?"

She kicked him, pushing off his chest before falling to her knees.

"Why... why..."

Her face was streaked with tears.

"Why aren’t you fighting back? Why are you still trying to be my brother... when you’re a demon?"

Damon walked toward her.

He did not care if she hated him.

He did not care if she no longer needed him.

She was his whole world.

And he would never stop being her brother.

"Being a demon doesn’t change the fact that I am Damon Grey..."

He reached out his hand.

"...Luna’s brother."

His fingers moved toward her cheek.

Luna grabbed his hand.

Then she snapped it.

"Argh!"

Damon groaned.

Luna slowly lifted her head.

Her expression was calm.

Then a wave of power erupted from her body and sent Damon flying.

He crashed into the ground and struggled to stand.

At that moment, the dome Sylvia had created shattered into pieces.

Something fell from the broken void.

A head came rolling across the ground.

Damon looked down.

His eyes widened.

"Sylvia..."

Then he screamed.

He rushed forward and picked up the severed head of Sylvia Moonveil.

Even in death, she wore a gentle smile.

She had told him she would die.

And that was what happened.

There was no fanfare.

No great final battle.

She simply died.

It was fast.

Brief.

And when Damon turned toward the direction of her remains, he saw the Unknown God standing there, possessing Ranar’s body.

A book floated before him.

"Welcome. Welcome. You are a bit too late."

He wasn’t speaking to Damon.

He was speaking to Luna.

Except Damon knew that was no longer Luna.

"Hello there, Minerva, Goddess of Doom," the Unknown God said.

Doom pushed away the strands of Luna’s hair that had stuck to her tear-streaked face.

"It seems you also had the same idea. Did you want to confront me in person?"

"Unknown. The Unknown God. I have come to put a stop to your attempts at stealing the Pillar I guard. Leave now, and nothing shall come of this. Return to the wretched Abyss whence you came."

The Unknown God seemed to touch his cheeks, as though genuinely considering her words.

"I would love to. Sadly, I’m already here."

He smiled.

"It would be a shame for me to leave so quickly."

"Very well, then. You shall pay."

The Unknown God looked at her as the pages of the book floating before him began flipping rapidly.

"These small fights are so annoying."

His smile widened.

"I think I’ll just destroy the world."

When he said those words, the world came to an end.

Damon could hear screaming and chaos in the distance.

He could hear the roar of collapsing space and the desperate cries of countless people as the world itself began to break apart.

A radiant glow of lunar magic spread across the battlefield.

Then Damon, along with everyone else, was dragged down into darkness.
