Gu Weiwei awoke in a strange, coldly decorated bedroom, wearing a scant silk gown and nursing a bleeding head. She collided with the furious Fu Hanzheng emerging from the bath, who pinned her down on the bed, convinced she was executing a familiar seduction ploy. Later, roused by scolding voices accusing her of greedily pursuing marriage into the Fu Family, a surge of foreign memories revealed her rebirth into the body of Mu Weiwei, the girl who had drugged the tipsy tycoon but died before succeeding.

Gu Weiwei lingered before the mirror for quite a while, struggling to steady her emotions and come to terms with her recent ordeal.

Urged by voices from beyond the door, she swiftly took a shower.

From Mu Weiwei's collection of sheer outfits, she selected a beige dress that revealed just half her shoulders.

Meng Ruya, positioned behind her, felt intense jealousy upon spotting those marks. Yet she spoke calmly, “Weiwei, did you really... sleep with Master?”

In the mirror's reflection, Gu Weiwei caught Meng Ruya’s expression.

“Should be.”

If she could turn back time, she would never have let herself be forced into bed with Fu Hanzheng.

Meng Ruya flashed a friendly smile as Gu Weiwei turned to face her.

“Let’s go. The Old Lady and the others are waiting downstairs already.”

No matter that she had shared a bed with Fu Hanzheng, today she would surely be cast out from the Fu Family.

Gathering her resolve, Gu Weiwei trailed after Ruya down the stairs to face the Fu Family's questioning.

In the downstairs living room sat two people. One was a gray-haired elderly woman, the Fu Family's Old Lady, who sighed in dismay upon seeing her.

The other was the young man who had roused her earlier upstairs—Fu Shiqin, Fu Hanzheng's second brother.

Fu Shiqin had a twin named Fu Shiyi, absent on this day.

The final man was Fu Hanzheng, the one who had... been with her the previous night.

Clad in a suit, Fu Hanzheng sat motionless, exuding an aura of noble haughtiness.

She grasped the circumstances perfectly, thanks not just to inheriting Mu Weiwei's memories, but also because the Fu Family stood as the Gu Family's fiercest foe, always scheming for their secrets.

Standing before the trio, she sensed the pressure of an impending tribunal by stern judges.

The quick-tempered Fu Shiqin began berating her in front of all present.

“Grandma took you into the Fu Family only because your grandfather saved our grandpa and since you lost your family. We provided you food and shelter, yet you're ungrateful. You even scheme to wed my brother and become Lady Fu. Your ambitions are wildly overreaching.”

“Mu Weiwei, last night's events change absolutely nothing.”

....

Gu Weiwei remained speechless in rebuttal. Though she had been the victim last night, it now seemed like she had sullied Fu Hanzheng.

Noticing Gu Weiwei's silence, Meng Ruya spoke up sweetly in her defense.

“Second Master, Weiwei has endured much grief from losing her family. She didn't intend any harm.”

“Intent? She planned it all! Since joining the Fu Family, she hasn't let up for a single day—constantly harassing my brother and even smashing Father's antique...” Fu Shiqin scoffed.

Gu Weiwei offered no retort, choosing instead to observe keenly.

Fu Hanzheng glanced at the time before telling the Old Lady, “See that she's gone before I get back, or I'll handle it personally.”

A chill ran through Gu Weiwei; she involuntarily shrank back, sensing the veiled menace in his tone.

As Fu Hanzheng prepared to leave for the company, Meng Ruya got a call and halted them both, her face grave.

“Master, there's trouble with The Rose—the painting we acquired at auction for Mr. Wilson.”

Fu Hanzheng's expression darkened faintly. “What happened?”

Meng Ruya cast a guilty glance at Gu Weiwei, bit her lip, and explained, “Assistant Xu was tied up earlier, so I took the painting myself. On the return trip, I stopped to fetch Weiwei, who... accidentally splashed coffee onto it...”
