After a dangerous encounter with black qi that nearly consumed him, Li Chen finds himself weakened and reflecting on the passage of eighty million years. He accepts his heart demon, embracing its presence as a reminder of his humanity. While others believe he fled, Li Chen remains in the dangerous Fourth Layer of Dreamfall Battlefield, where he encounters a seemingly ordinary, optimistic young man who seeks shelter from the rain.

The young man bears no malice.

This point, even for Li Chen who was almost a spent force now, was still discernible.

Because even without cultivation, his instincts for sensing killing intent were extremely keen.

The curious thing for Li Chen was that this young man seemed to... also lack a cultivation aura.

This was clearly impossible.

Setting aside the unspecified danger of Dreamfall Battlefield’s Fourth Layer, if he was indeed a completely ordinary person without any cultivation, how could he even enter here?

Yet, even with Li Chen’s newly evolved Tao Mu—fully integrated into his vision—he could see no abnormalities on the young man.

He seemed to be an anomaly.

"Am I not also an anomaly?"

Considering his thought, Li Chen smiled bitterly, choosing not to delve deeper.

This was just a common encounter in the rain, what did it matter what the other person was, or who he might be to me?

With his cultivation empty and his body weak, Li Chen suddenly felt hungry.

Hunger, for him, was a novel sensation.

Of course, that was an effect magnified by the Heart Demon.

Casually gathering a few branches, under the young man’s curious gaze, Li Chen constructed a simple bonfire within the cave, retrieving a few chunks of Fierce Beast Meat from his ring to roast slowly.

Without using energy to expedite the process, he handled the meat like the most ordinary of mortals, carefully rotating it to evenly distribute heat across the Fierce Beast Meat.

"Brother, what is this you’re doing?" The young man curiously watched Li Chen’s actions, seemingly not understanding.

"Cooking." Li Chen focused on the roasting meat without raising his head: "Have you never seen this before?"

The young man shook his head slightly: "I really haven’t."

"I was born a long time ago, and since my emergence, I’ve never had the need to eat; as long as I absorb energy, I can sustain life, so..."

"I understand." Li Chen turned his head to glance at the somewhat peculiar young man, smiling: "Then, shall we eat together?"

"Alright!" The young man smiled.

Thus, the two sat in the cave, watching the misty rain outside, eating the roasted meat.

Li Chen did not inquire about the young man’s background, as the young man did not inquire about his.

"The taste of this meat seems unfamiliar to me." The young man suddenly spoke while chewing: "But it’s delicious, you prepared it well."

Li Chen laughed and nodded: "Thank you. Have you been here a long time?"

"A tremendous amount of time." The young man nodded: "So long that I’ve forgotten how long."

"I see, this meat comes from a place called Purple Robe Continent. And that piece nearly done—came from Nine Heavens Continent." Li Chen pointed out some nearly cooked meat on the roasting rack.

"Have you been to many places?" the young man asked.

"Indeed." Li Chen nodded: "I suppose you could say so."

"Then, could you tell me about the outside world?" the young man’s eyes revealed a look of expectancy.

"Um..." Li Chen hesitated a moment but eventually nodded.

Subsequently, Li Chen began narrating the outside world to the young man.

He could feel that the young man seemed restricted to stay within Dreamfall Battlefield.

Yet labeling him as someone lost within Dreamfall Battlefield didn’t quite fit. Because the young man’s mind was remarkably clear, his speech orderly, unlike those he saw earlier wandering dazedly within the mist.

Perhaps it was due to feeling an inexplicable familiarity from the young man, Li Chen—after recounting some of his experiences within Jianmu Universe—spoke of matters within the Starry Universe.

Although he didn’t specifically mention the Starry Universe, he described some events and encounters from within it to the young man.

The young man listened intently, occasionally expressing astonishment, as though he truly were an ordinary youth unfamiliar with the outside world.

"The outside world has grown so exciting again?" The young man’s eyes showed a peculiar gleam—joy, gratitude, yet also sorrow.

Li Chen noted the word "again" and couldn’t help but draw connections to various thoughts.

"Have you always stayed here?" Li Chen couldn’t help but question.

"Yes." The young man’s eyes revealed a hint of sorrow: "I mentioned, I’ve stayed here for a very, very long time."

Li Chen guessed that this extended time was surely a long epoch.

"If I were to describe specifically, I am merely a Dreamer." The young man suddenly stated: "Or possibly just a being existing purely from someone’s imagination."

Li Chen struggled to comprehend the young man’s words and therefore didn’t reply.

"Confused? It’s alright if you don’t understand, frankly I don’t fully comprehend my current existence either. A pure obsession? A conglomerate of thoughts? I’m unsure." The young man shook his head.

"Thus, I call myself... the Endless Dreamer."

"Endless Dreamer..." Li Chen murmured softly: "Living in one’s own imagination?"

"Indeed." The young man’s tone remained calm: "Because my entity’s body has long since perished."

The body has perished...

But he still existed.

Li Chen seemingly understood why the young man described himself thusly.

"After my body’s death, I inherited part of the body’s authority, so here can also be called my imaginational world." The young man glanced outside the cave, gently swaying a finger.

"Whoosh—"

Endless mist abruptly cleared, sunlight dispersed, instantly shifting from misty rainy weather to clear skies.

"I preferred the previous scenery." After a moment’s thought, the young man moved his finger again, the sky turned back to misty drizzle.

"You mean to say, everything here was your body’s imagination?" Li Chen was surprised indeed.

Even with his insight, he could hardly discern what ability this was.

"Yes, you could say that." the young man nodded.

Li Chen recalled his previous speculation with the Seven Realms Tome but pondered a moment and chose not to mention it.

Endless Dreamer...

"Thank you for your explanations, the outside world now so beautiful again, I think, if the body knew then it would be happy as well."

"Yes." the young man nodded again, his face still wearing a pure smile: "Because I presently feel happiness."

"In return, let me do you a favor." the young man said, gently pressing a finger to Li Chen’s brow.

The next moment, Li Chen felt an enormous energy pouring directly into his nearly depleted body.
