Shang's devastating attack has shattered the universe and vaporized ancient ancestors. While most fled, Li Chen remained, consumed by a mysterious black qi that transformed his robe. Zhang Lu, attempting to protect Li Chen, urged him to remember his identity and family, eventually rousing Li Chen from his stupor. The Seven Realms Tome revealed it was also suppressed by the black qi, but Li Chen, now aware and furious, vows to pay any price to destroy Shang.

Very obviously, the Black Qi was a strange kind of power Li Chen had never seen before.

It was not a Law, because upon that Black Qi, there was none of the power characteristics of any Law Li Chen had ever witnessed.

One had to know, Li Chen now possessed a complete Sea of Laws; any Law that existed in the Starry Universe, he could forcibly simulate.

Yet this kind of Black Qi, he simply could not simulate.

Although Li Chen knew this Black Qi was far too bizarre, that using it by force would likely bring about immeasurable consequences.

But in his current state, what other choice did he have?

Li Chen laughed, a little desolate.

The blood feud of his parents, cannot exist under the same sky!

"Mom, your son is too weak, I have no way to save you out. In this life, I owe you."

"Dad, I’m sorry. I still let you down. Even though I never once called you ’dad’, I know you must have always wanted to hear me call it out personally. But now, you’ll never hear it again."

"These things, I already have no way to accomplish. But there is still one thing I can do, and can see through to the end."

"And that is... to avenge you both!"

Zhang Lu saw the clarity gradually returning to Li Chen’s eyes, and had just let out a sigh of relief—only to find that the aura across Li Chen’s entire body suddenly erupted. Though Li Chen’s Cultivation was already nearly at the point of oil running dry and the lamp going out, that eerie Black Qi still made even Zhang Lu instinctively feel a jolt of horror.

Though he still stood in place without moving, every inch of his body was trembling non-stop, as if urging him to flee this place at once.

This warning, coming from his flesh and also from the depths of his Soul, shocked even him.

Who was he?

The Asura Blood Emperor, Zhang Lu!

The butcher who once slaughtered his way across several Star Continents in the Heaven Realm.

Back then, countless experts had besieged him, and his Cultivation had been far from as powerful as it was now.

Yet even in that despairing situation where his Physical Body was completely destroyed, he had never been this wretched.

This Black Qi, what in the world was it?

Zhang Lu could tell, it wasn’t that he was afraid—it was the spirituality belonging to the Doomsday Beast Soul hidden within his Divine Soul that was trembling.

"Kid, you’d better think this through. Even I can’t get a grasp on the Power of this Black Qi." At this moment, the voice of the Seven Realms Tome grew solemn: "Once you fail to control it, you might drag yourself down along with it. Have you truly decided?"

Li Chen bared his teeth in a bitter smile. "Do I still have any other choice?"

No.

Even if it wasn’t for revenge, he had no other path left.

Because that world-shattering Great Annihilation had already spread to surround him.

He could not run, nor could he dodge.

This was an attack that transcended the world, transcended speed, even a law-like strike above cause and effect.

From the moment this Divine Skill manifested, he was destined to be hit.

Just like the previous ’Eternal Existence’ Divine Skill, which Shang had been unable to avoid.

Zhang Lu’s expression grew uglier by the moment. Under the crushing pressure of that terrifying Power, he was, after all, just an ordinary Ancient Ancestor, not even having reached the Middle Stage of Heaven-Earth Realm. In such Destruction, he simply could not hold on for long.

And right at that moment, Li Chen took a step forward.

"Whoosh—"

With that single step, the Great Annihilation Power around him seemed to meet its nemesis, actually swerving aside of its own accord.

This scene nearly made Shang, who’d been staring over with shadowed eyes, spit blood.

What was going on?

His own Divine Skill was actually avoiding?!

Avoiding a mere Heaven-Earth Realm cultivator?!

"No! It’s not avoiding him, it’s avoiding that Black Qi!"

Very quickly, Shang discovered the reason.

The source of this bizarre scene came from the Black Qi on Li Chen’s body...

"This is... what thing?!" In that instant, even as a Dao Saint, Shang shuddered in terror.

Because even he could not see through the origin of this Black Qi!

But soon, Shang noticed something else.

Li Chen was advancing, yet with every step his gaze grew a shade more chaotic.

As though with each step forward, his mind was gradually dispersing.

And even stranger, as Li Chen advanced, the space around him was actually splitting open on its own, as if even space itself was unwilling to come into contact with him.

The rifts previously torn open by the Chaotic Void refused to heal, as though they too were avoiding this nameless existence.

"Tap."

"Tap."

Li Chen continued forward, his face outwardly calm, but his Divine Soul was trembling violently.

He wanted to use this nameless, terrifying Black Qi to cut down Shang.

Yet only once he truly began to wield it did Li Chen realize that the might of this Black Qi utterly surpassed his imagination.

Let alone bringing this Black Qi all the way to Shang’s face—if not for the help of the Seven Realms Tome, he suspected his mind would have instantly fallen into chaos after just a single step.

Moreover, Li Chen discovered that as he advanced, his Cultivation was actually beginning to regress.

With every step, his Cultivation fell back a notch.

At this rate, before he could fully close the distance to Shang, his Cultivation would have completely dissipated, leaving him an ordinary mortal.

Yet he still walked on.

Some things, you do even knowing they cannot be done.

It wasn’t stupidity.

It was that as a man, as a son, there were some things he had to do!

"Crack!"

The fracturing of the Starry Universe did not cease. Li Chen, with some difficulty, sent Sound Transmission to Zhang Lu: "Help me with one last favor—just treat it as repaying the debt you owe me... send that planet below... out of this Starfield."

Zhang Lu gave Li Chen a complex look, then nodded heavily.

Because he knew that even if he stayed here, he could no longer help with anything.

The only reason he’d been lucky enough to survive this long was thanks to also carrying a Doomsday Shou Hun within him. But if he kept forcing himself to hold out, there would be nothing waiting for him but death.

"I’ll do it. But I still owe you." Zhang Lu said gravely, "It’s a pity I couldn’t help you with anything. So, this debt—I’ll keep paying."

"There are some debts of human kindness that can never be cleared."

These words were just like what Senior Lieu had once said to Li Chen in that minor world.

But now, Senior Lieu too had drifted away with Li Changcun on the wind, even earlier than them.

This time, it was truly Soul scattered into nothingness, never again to be revived.

The light in Li Chen’s pitch-black, muddied eyes grew ever dimmer.

"Why am I always this weak?"

"If only I could be strong enough that no one would dare lay a hand on anyone beside me—how good that would be."

With that thought, Li Chen no longer looked at Zhang Lu, who was using Great Divine Power to ferry away the entire Eight Directions Star. Facing that world-ending Law of Destruction, he continued along his path toward Shang.

And Shang now was entirely powerless to move.

He could only watch helplessly as Li Chen drew closer, one step at a time.

"Perhaps I’m the one who should have died long ago."

That was the final strand of Thought Control in Li Chen’s mind. Then, he sank completely into silence.

Within Li Chen’s Divine Soul, the radiance of the Seven Realms Tome went utterly dark; the Red Moon too had long since fallen into deathly stillness.

In that silence, Li Chen’s face had become corpse-like, yet he walked emotionlessly right up to Shang.

Under Shang’s eyes, wide with sheer terror, he gently waved his hand.

The Black Qi swept forth.

The Doomsday Dao Saint Shang was reduced to dust and smoke.

Once Shang was fully erased, Li Chen stood within the collapsing, deathly space, and turned ’to look’ once at the vast Starry Sky, with a complexity in his eyes that no one could comprehend.

In the next instant, he stepped forward once more.

With that step, he walked out of the Spatial Rift, out of the Chaotic Void.

And also stepped beyond... the Starry Universe.
