Li Chen was targeted by a strange beast that emerged from a meteorite. Though the beast possessed immense physical strength and easily injured Li Chen, it vanished after its attacks. Li Chen realized the meteorites were a trap, and the beasts devoured cultivators and their souls. He devised a plan using his Shadow Escape technique and the Darkness Law to temporarily trap the beast while preparing a formation to capture it.

The monster’s power was truly formidable, exceeding Li Chen’s initial expectations by a significant margin.

Though there was no discernible aura of a cultivator, its sheer physical might was more than capable of crushing any Domain Realm expert.

However, within this peculiar locale, all cultivators found their power suppressed below the Domain Realm, rendering even the strongest individuals helpless against these monstrous entities.

On one hand, the allure of extraordinary treasures unearthed was undeniable, stirring deep desires.

On the other hand, not a single soul had managed to directly defeat one of these monsters.

Even joining forces with allies could only achieve a temporary stalemate; a true kill seemed utterly out of reach!

This was due to their possession of not only terrifying strength but also astonishingly resilient defenses!

These beings, while seemingly not cultivating Yuan Qi, appeared to engage in Body Refinement, with each colossal beast’s form encased in menacing Gang Qi.

Even Immortal Treasures proved incapable of piercing this formidable Gang Qi barrier.

Should the barrier be breached, the residual force would be easily absorbed by the monster's physique, resulting in no more than superficial injuries.

Such dire circumstances left nearly everyone feeling utterly powerless.

After a brief engagement, Li Chen managed to form a rough estimate of his adversary’s strength.

He acknowledged that he possessed the capability to defeat it.

Nevertheless, dispatching this monster would necessitate the revelation of certain hidden trump cards, potentially exposing his true identity to those present.

Given the choice between revealing himself and drawing unwanted attention, Li Chen preferred to expend additional effort dealing with the monster directly.

"A robust physique but lacking in intellect, unable to even converse with cultivators, their souls must be correspondingly weak," Li Chen mused as he began crafting formation flags.

Below, the rate at which his Darkness Law incarnations were solidifying began to diminish; having been annihilated repeatedly by the colossal beasts, their numbers dwindled, and it was only a matter of time before the divine skill formed from the Darkness Law would be completely dismantled.

At this critical juncture, an unusual aura suddenly emanated from the monster’s body; after a prolonged struggle, the creature seemed to have been provoked into a state of rage, its ghastly visage contorting further as its serpentine tail lashed out ferociously.

With the sweeping motion of its tail, this peculiar aura gradually coalesced around its spectral countenance.

Opening its immense maw, a chilling, gray-white exhalation surged forth from its demonic face.

"Ho———"

"Zzz...z..."

Li Chen’s Darkness incarnations were instantaneously transformed into brittle, gray-white effigies upon contact with this spectral breath, subsequently crumbling into dust.

This time, once disintegrated, these Darkness incarnations were incapable of reforming.

"This is Destruction... no!" Li Chen’s brow furrowed: "Something doesn't feel right."

"This is the Death Law," the voice of Primordial Heavy Water resonated.

"Death Law?"

"Indeed, the Death Law stands in opposition to the Life Law. However, in terms of hierarchy, it ranks below the Life Law and is not comparable to the Law of Destruction. While potent, it lacks the unresolvable nature of the Four Supreme Laws," Primordial Heavy Water elaborated. "Initially, the death aura emanating from the Death Law concealed within these monsters prevented anyone from realizing their presence inside the meteorite."

"Then, what precisely are these entities?" Li Chen inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"They cannot be classified as living, yet they are not truly dead either; they exist in a peculiar state between life and death, a most unusual product that I have never before encountered," Primordial Heavy Water pondered before responding.

"Boss, capture one for me, I wish to examine it," interjected the Two-Yi Yin Yang Mirror.

Having been forged with the Power of Yin and Yang, inherently opposing forces, its current state bore a resemblance to the monster's integrated life-death duality.

"Understood." Even without the Two-Yi Yin Yang Mirror's request, Li Chen harbored the same intention.

He had a subtle premonition that these particular types of monsters held significant research value.

"Roar!!"

At this moment, having annihilated all of Li Chen’s Darkness incarnations, the monster lifted its head once more, its gaze drifting a considerable distance towards Li Chen’s position.

It appeared to possess an innate sensory capability, enabling it to pinpoint the individual who had unearthed it from the meteorite.

At this juncture, Li Chen's grand formation remained incomplete.

Yet, confronting the charging beast, Li Chen’s expression was one of unwavering calm.

He had weathered far greater storms; a single anomaly like this was insufficient to induce panic within him.

As the approaching monster drew nearer, Li Chen slowly raised his hand.

Clutched within his grasp was a blade.

Red Moon!

Without resorting to any ultimate techniques, Li Chen merely imparted a gentle vibration to the blade.

"Cease Spear."

"Blade of Self-Slaughter!"

"Crack crack crack~!"

Without any blade light or sharpness, the monster abruptly froze, its colossal form suspended in the air, unable to advance even a single step further. "Red Moon, be careful," Li Chen called out while continuing his work on the formation flags. It was true that this monster possessed an incredibly robust physical body, but as Li Chen had accurately surmised, its soul was lamentably feeble. A single strike from the Cease Spear was sufficient to make it struggle against breaking free from the temporal loop he had constructed. Coupled with the Blade of Self-Slaughter directly impacting its soul, the monster experienced a sensation akin to its very mind being split asunder. This excruciating pain incapacitated its ability to focus on breaking through the time loop induced by the Cease Spear. "This..." At this juncture, the surrounding cultivators who had borne witness to this spectacle could only stare with widened eyes.
