My Girlfriend is a Zombie Chapter 1324: Speak Human Language
Previously on My Girlfriend is a Zombie...
As the sun dipped below the horizon in a flash… The bat, continually tracking the Central Region survivors' location, noted their single relocation before they settled once more, not far from their prior position…
Ling Mo's contemplation of this matter was brief…
“Who knows what they’re up to; let's enter first and discuss it later.”
“Master, they've changed guard shifts,” the bat conveyed with deference.
Having a Zombie with heightened senses accompanying him proved exceptionally beneficial…
At this precise moment, under his mental direction, Zombie Puppets, which had been concealed within a second-floor room, promptly positioned themselves and leaped from the window, subsequently moving towards the Falcon Camp…
“Ah… very well, you can return to your rest and sustenance now.”
A Machine Gunner approached his comrade, stifling a yawn as he spoke, “Damn, the mere thought of the night watch irritates me. As soon as darkness falls, those Zombies begin their incessant howling and screaming.”
“And a few sightless ones will emerge occasionally, attempting a surprise assault,” the companion remarked, standing up and patting his shoulder with an air of gloating.“What are you afraid of…” the Machine Gunner mumbled, uttering curses under his breath before pressing his eyes to the firing slit at the tunnel's opening.
He was not yet fully awake… but after a short period, he found himself compelled to rub his eyes, then gazed intently ahead.
Was his vision playing tricks on him? Or were those Zombies genuinely in motion?
“It must be another minor outbreak.” The Machine Gunner yawned once more, silently damning his luck, “Unfortunate.”
He had just placed his hand on the trigger, intending to discharge a dozen rounds as a deterrent should the outbreak draw nearer, when, at that exact moment, the throng of Zombies suddenly detonated!
What erupted was a shower of blood!
Concurrently, several critically injured Zombies were propelled from the group, impacting the Protective Wall with considerable force.
His vision turned black, and the Machine Gunner instinctively squeezed the trigger.
Yet, immediately thereafter, a deafening roar subsumed the sound of his gunfire: “Roar!”
“Roar! Roar! Roar!”
As the decaying bodies were violently expelled, the Machine Gunner felt his mouth grow parched, a cold sweat permeating every inch of his skin…
“The Zombies… they are erupting in a unified frenzy…”
Behind a different segment of the Camp’s Protective Wall…
“Quick, go summon aid!” a figure resembling a captain bellowed.
He too seized his firearm and hurried towards the firing position, oblivious to the several indistinct figures that descended from the sky behind him…
“Whew, we have infiltrated.” Ling Mo declared, wiping the perspiration from his brow.
After sustaining the loss of thirty Senior Zombie Puppets during the assault and their subsequent demise, they had finally managed to provoke the ferocity of these increasingly “sensible” Zombies.
“I must admit, inciting them was somewhat simpler than anticipated…” Ling Mo mused.
Provided the opportune moment is selected, a stealthy infiltration is not exceedingly difficult.
Although Ling Mo could not employ Sensing indiscriminately, were any of these genuine Senior Zombies considered weaklings?
They exhibited no signs of jealousy…
“Indeed, those are both favorable circumstances.” Ling Mo presented a subtle smirk.
However, this was merely his perception and that of the Zombies. Xu Shuhan, possessing a clearer view, perceived the situation differently.
What madness possesses you, charging headlong into another's stronghold!
But soon, the sound of approaching footsteps jolted Xu Shuhan, who was concealed by the wall, into a tremor.
Ling Mo, in contrast, maintained a composed demeanor. He waited until the footsteps receded and the shouts from the Protective Wall intensified before rising with unhurried grace.
“Very well, we can proceed now.” He remarked, dusting off his trousers.
Xu Shuhan finally grasped the implication, “So, he was strategically waiting for reinforcements to be drawn away?”
Precisely, Ling Mo harbored no intention of engaging in a direct confrontation with them.
After all, the opposing force was heavily armed! What if someone were to lose control and covertly deploy a Grenade, intending to take everyone down?
While ordinary humans were still vulnerable, having undergone basic evolution, their aiming capabilities, reaction speed, and stamina had seen some improvement.
With dedicated training, achieving the proficiency of a special forces operative was not an insurmountable task.
Naturally, mastery of technique was not assured, as the training primarily emphasized defensive tactics…
“However, once those Zombies commence their rampage, they are unlikely to cease for at least half an hour. Currently, their rear exit stands unguarded, allowing us to simply march in,” Ling Mo stated.
“This time, you’re merely spouting nonsense!” Xu Shuhan muttered under her breath.
Xia Na and the others displayed little overt reaction… only Senior Sister, after a brief pause, turned back and remarked, “March right in, that’s precisely how you executed it previously…”
“What are you implying! Am I invisible to all of you?” Xu Shuhan exclaimed in consternation.
Pear turned with curiosity towards Ban Yue, inquiring, “Does the phrase ‘march right in’ carry a more profound significance?”
“No clue…” Ban Yue shook her head, then addressed Black Silk, “March right in…”
“Enough! Refrain from such casual conduct within the enemy’s territory!” Ling Mo commanded sternly.
Observing his serious expression, Xu Shuhan’s eyelid involuntarily twitched…
From any perspective, it is you who is leading them astray…
“There is someone ahead,” the bat suddenly announced.
If it was indicated that they were still a distance away, Ling Mo promptly guided his zombies to a concealed location. A few moments later, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard, accompanied by a woman's voice. "Why aren't they allowing me to participate in the meeting? Now that there's danger lurking outside, they expect me to stand guard? If any significant information surfaces, we ought to promptly inform Miracle Base and Niepan. Go back and convey to that individual named Yao that our primary objective is unity, not the expansion of our influence. Continuing to hoard all resources will inevitably lead to mutual annihilation..."
Upon hearing this, Ling Mo, concealed beneath the wall, couldn't resist touching his nose. Had this woman become so fiercely opinionated after such a short absence?
A woman clad in a military uniform concluded her impassioned speech before dismissing the members who followed her. As she watched their retreating figures, she grumbled indignantly, "These individuals... after a few tranquil days, they've completely forgotten the meaning of adaptability and resilience!"
Her agitation caused her face to flush and her chest to heave visibly. At that precise moment, an constricting force enveloped her entire body, and before she could utter a cry of alarm, a hand was already clamped over her mouth.
Subsequently, a playful voice whispered near her ear, "Hey, you just mentioned needing someone who could be adaptable and resilient; you must have been referring to me, correct? I'm unsure about resilience, but adaptability is certainly up for discussion. I'm just curious if you prefer to adapt forward or backward..."
The female officer's pupils constricted, initially displaying a flicker of rage before widening in disbelief. "Whimper whimper?"
"Could you articulate that in human language..." Ling Mo blurted out, only then realizing he was still muffling her mouth. How was she expected to speak?
However, simply releasing her now felt... inappropriate.
