The narrator is attacked by hundreds of Yin Corpses after Yu Qingxiao abandons her. Qing Li rescues her, and they confront Yu Qingxiao, who claims he forgot. The narrator recovers by a Bronze Tree, a marker for the Nether Spring, and Qing Li confirms she has killed over a thousand Yin Corpses. They then travel to Moonless City, where the narrator suspects a Bronze Mirror in a hall is an entrance, a suspicion Yu Qingxiao dismisses.

"Wanwan would not speak carelessly. This mirror must possess peculiar qualities, radiating an aura of Tianzhu’s unique techniques." Qing Li is not only skilled in Forbidden Woman Witchcraft but also proficient in various arcane arts, especially exotic ones from distant lands.

As her fingers grazed the mirror's surface, her dark brows knitted slightly. "Perhaps we haven't yet grasped the true mystery of this mirror."

"What is your impression of the White Immortals? I once had the fortune to encounter two such beings; their eyes resembled gateways to another realm, much like the sensation this mirror evokes." Before meeting that hedgehog-like White Immortal girl, I had paid little heed to this mirror's strangeness, but she ignited in me a boundless inspiration.

Qing Li's fingers traced the edges of the Triangular Prism once more. "The White Immortals excel at mimicry, particularly in spatial translocation techniques. Wanwan, your perception is keen; this mirror is crafted from the very eyes of countless White Immortals."

"Goodness, is it truly that vile and cruel? My dear, you should cease touching it; acquiring any lingering resentment would be most unwise." Yu Qingxiao seized Qing Li’s wrist, preventing further contact with the Triangular Prism, and retreated a couple of paces.

Qing Li raised no objection, her lips pursed in contemplation. "The portal should be located here, yet we seem unable to discover how to activate it."

"Even if we located the entrance, egress from the Nether Pond is impossible, so it is perhaps for the best that we cannot find a way in," Yu Qingxiao stated bluntly, showing no paternal concern for his child.

From the outset, I harbored no expectation that they would offer themselves as a sacrifice to enter the Nether Pond.

Parents already bestow life upon their children; there is no need for them to further sacrifice themselves to rescue Yu Longting...

Even the mightiest forces in the world would be reduced to mere fodder amidst the chaos within that place.

However, I, myself, would charge in with unwavering resolve at the slightest opportunity.

Because my Yu Longting, my entire life, is ensnared within that pond.

Unbeknownst to me, I found myself standing on one facet of the Triangular Prism, a surface that had once reflected Longting's image.

"Snake Brother." For a fleeting moment, I believed I glimpsed his elusive shadow within the mirror and reached out towards it.

The shadow flickered and dissolved instantaneously into the mirror's depths.

My hand met the cold glass, grasping at nothingness.

Suddenly, Qing Li addressed me. "Wanwan, we have discussed this. It may be necessary to sacrifice the life of a White Immortal to open the portal."

"You... you go find a White Immortal. I shall wait here for you." I retracted my hand from the mirror, feigning obedience as I looked towards Qing Li.

After scrutinizing me from head to toe, Qing Li considered the matter.

She handed me several compressed biscuits. "Very well, we shall return shortly. Do not wander about this place, and stay clear of the corpses belonging to the Human Snake Clan, understand?"

"Understood, understood! Hurry along now!" A sense of impatience grew within me; the internal summons intensified.

I could feel the portal beckoning me, but I dared not attempt to access it while they were present.

My heart yearned to rescue Yu Longting, yet I feared inadvertently leading others to their doom.

"This girl... I always feel something is amiss with her," Qing Li murmured, glancing at Yu Qingxiao.

Yu Qingxiao merely shrugged. "My dear, you are overly perceptive. I believe our future daughter-in-law is perfectly fine; she simply wishes to remain here out of a reluctance for arduous travel."

Following this exchange, both Qing Li and Yu Qingxiao departed from the hall.

Alone in the entirety of the hall, only I remained with the smooth, gleaming Triangular Prism, my reflection staring back with startling clarity...
