My Demon Husband Is a Snake Chapter 1112: The Art of the White Immortal

After a brief pause, Zhang Che inquired, "Wanwan, is there anything else you require?"
My thoughts instantly refocused, and I responded, "No, there’s nothing more."
"Then I’m hanging up." Zhang Che was direct, ending the call as their conversation concluded.
"What’s so wonderful about growing up?" the girl in white mused, her brow furrowed. A laugh then escaped her lips, "But Brother Wuyue is indeed exceptionally good-looking."
Could this elegant young lady truly be the same four or five-year-old child from earlier?
She hadn’t even reached the height of a chicken coop previously, and now she stood well over 1.6 meters.
Even with accelerated growth, akin to bamboo shoots emerging overnight, this transformation was astonishingly swift.
I glanced towards my dorm room upstairs, intrigued by Wuyue’s mysterious abilities.
"In any case, you’ll need to return two more times for the effects to fully settle. After that, you can see him again."
The elder, seemingly exasperated by the girl’s infatuation, noticed me still standing there and his expression soured. "Why are you here again? Are you deliberately following us?"
"You are mistaken; I am standing here because I reside here." I didn’t take offense at the elder’s wary demeanor.
They must possess a unique status, or perhaps they were pursued by formidable enemies.
Earlier, the elder had hesitated to let the girl emerge directly by his side.
Instead, he had her conceal herself behind the chicken coop, only allowing her out after meticulously surveying the surroundings. Then, they proceeded to find Wuyue together.
The elder narrowed his eyes and cautiously drew the girl away. "Let us depart quickly; there are many dangerous individuals outside. If anything were to happen to you, I could not face the entire clan."
"This big sister doesn’t seem like a bad person," the girl stated, continuing to be led by the elder, yet turning back to cast a glance at me.
Her albino eyes shimmered with a subtle silver luminescence, possessing a surprisingly captivating beauty.
A sudden recollection surfaced, bringing to mind the grand hall within Moonless City.
That immaculately polished triangular prism bore a similar silver and sacred sheen, appearing to hold an entire other realm within its depths.
Lost in thought for a moment, I watched as they had already moved a considerable distance away.
At some point, Wuyue materialized behind me. Turning, I saw him and asked, "Why did you come downstairs? Did you get enough rest?"
"I had just drifted off when two hedgehogs disturbed my sleep, clamoring for me to tend to them." Wuyue ran a hand through his long, silky black hair, intentionally disheveling it. "If it weren't for the substantial payment they offered, I would have simply torn them apart for sustenance. Did you receive the funds?"
"Hedgehogs? Are those grandfather and granddaughter truly hedgehogs?" I pondered, trying to recall. I hadn’t sensed any hedgehog-like characteristics from them earlier.
They had merely struck me as mild-mannered demons, devoid of destructive capabilities and having committed no malevolent deeds.
Wuyue, indifferent to external matters, impatiently corrected me as I steered the conversation elsewhere, "The transfer!"
"Let me check… ah, yes, received. Received! Wow, eight million! Your fees are increasing, aren't they?" I exclaimed, a touch of envy coloring my tone despite the sigh.
The demon clans appear remarkably affluent, casually disbursing such vast sums!
It seemed unlikely I’d ever accumulate that much in several lifetimes.
Wuyue stretched languidly. "Is it high? Under normal circumstances, with my noble heritage, I wouldn’t part with a single drop of my blood for less than a hundred million."
"These aren’t exactly extreme circumstances, and life is quite calm, so perhaps refrain from taking on more jobs." I chuckled awkwardly, turning to head upstairs. "I’m heading up; do as you please."
"For a man, earning wealth is a testament to his capability. All the money I acquire goes to you, unlike that stingy hoarder of treasures, who wouldn’t spare a drop for you," Wuyue stated, falling into step beside me. He wore a smug, arrogant grin, as though I were already his exclusive possession.
However, my attention was only partly on his words, as the pristine, white-pebble-like pupils of the hedgehog girl replayed in my mind. "Hey Wuyue, that hedgehog is a White Immortal! While they're listed among the Five Great Family Immortals – Fox Yellow, White, Willow, Grey – I’ve never encountered anything particularly special about them. Do you happen to know if there’s anything unique about their lineage?"
"You’ve certainly come to the right person; within the memories I share with that serpent, the White Immortal’s prowess lies in…"
