My Celestial Ascension Chapter 983: Knocking The Door At Night
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
After finishing the feast, everyone gathered in the living area and chatted for a while before retiring for the night.
"Yuan, you once asked us to participate in the war against those so-called gods... When do we have to depart?" Emperor Rhex suddenly asked, a serious look on his face.
After losing so many men in the war against the Undead Legion, he was hesitant to participate in another conflict that might claim even more lives.
Yuan immediately noticed the concern in his eyes and replied, "I don’t think it’s necessary for you to participate in this war anymore. We’re more than capable of dealing with them ourselves."
"Besides, you’ve just fought a devastating war and lost many people in the process. I don’t think your citizens want to see another battlefield so soon."
"Indeed. We’ve only just achieved peace, and no one wishes to see bloodshed again," Emperor Rhex said with a nod.
"Although I promised that I would aid you in this war, it seems I won’t be able to keep that promise anymore." He lowered his head slightly. "I’m truly sorry for breaking our agreement."
"It’s fine," Yuan replied with a smile. "Besides, Nerith will be with us."
After chatting for a little longer, everyone returned to their rooms.
Just as Yuan was about to follow his mother into her room, she stopped him and smiled knowingly.
"Shouldn’t you be spending some time with Isolde and Nerith? How long are you planning to keep them waiting?"
"Well... I completely forgot about that," Yuan said with an awkward smile. "I’ll go and surprise them."
Just as he was about to leave, Anna Grace stopped him once more.
"At least give me a goodnight kiss before you go."
Yuan smiled and gently pulled her into his embrace before giving her what she wanted.
The kiss lasted for several moments before they finally separated.
"Now go and spend some time with them," Anna Grace said with a playful smile before closing the door.
Yuan nodded and headed toward the rooms of Isolde and Nerith. He knew that neither of them had gone to sleep yet.
He stopped in front of Isolde’s room and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" a voice came from inside.
"It’s me, Yuan. Can you open the door?"
A few moments later, he heard soft footsteps approaching.
The door opened, revealing Isolde dressed in comfortable nightwear that complemented her elegant figure.
"You surprised me a little," she said with a faint smile. "Come inside. Don’t just stand there."
She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the room before closing the door behind them.
A slight blush appeared on her face as she realized that he had come to visit her at such a late hour.
’So, he really came to spend time with me tonight...’ she thought, feeling an unfamiliar warmth in her chest.
Yuan sat on the bed and, noticing her nervousness, decided to ease the atmosphere.
"What happened at your estate? Did you inform your family that you’ll be leaving with me?"
Isolde let out a soft sigh and sat beside him.
"I’ve already taken care of everything there," she replied with a smile. "And yes, I informed my family about my departure."
"I see..." Yuan nodded with a smile before gently holding her hand, causing a faint blush to appear on Isolde’s face.
"Umm, Yuan... I don’t think it would be a good idea for us to spend this special moment together without Nerith," Isolde said seriously.
"After all, she has also been looking forward to this day. I would feel guilty if I left her out."
Taking a deep breath, she continued, "We fought on the battlefield together and risked our lives side by side. I don’t want to leave her behind this time either."
Yuan nodded in understanding. Even he felt a little guilty knowing that Nerith knew nothing about this.
He looked at her and asked, "Then what do you suggest we do? A way where no one feels left out."
"H-How about we spend the evening together with her?" Isolde muttered with a flushed face, her voice barely audible.
"What did you say?" Yuan asked, pretending not to hear.
"Well... you know..." She looked away in embarrassment. "We could spend time together with Nerith. That way, no one would feel hurt."
"...."
Yuan looked at her in surprise, not expecting such a suggestion from her.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked gently. "This is a very special night for you as well."
"You don’t need to worry about me, Yuan," she replied with a warm smile. "This is what I want. I don’t want Nerith to feel left behind."
"Is that so..." Yuan pondered for a moment before pulling her into a gentle embrace.
"If this is truly what you want, then I won’t refuse," he whispered softly.
A bright smile appeared on Isolde’s face as she ended the hug.
"Then let’s go and surprise her, shall we?"
Shortly afterward, they arrived in front of Nerith’s room.
Yuan stepped forward and knocked on the door.
"Is that you, Yuan?" a voice came from inside, followed by soft footsteps.
"Yeah. It’s me," Yuan replied. "Isolde is with me too."
"Huh? Isolde as well?"
A moment later, the door opened, and Nerith looked at the two of them with a puzzled expression.
Her gaze then landed on Isolde, and her cheeks immediately turned red.
"C-Come inside..." she said while stepping aside.
She knew there was only one reason for Yuan to visit her room so late at night.
’Did he come to spend time with me tonight?’ she wondered, feeling an unfamiliar warmth spread through her body.
’But... why is Isolde here too?’
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.
Her eyes widened, and her face became even redder.
’D-Don’t tell me...!’
Just then, Isolde closed the door behind them with a mischievous smile, making Nerith even more nervous and flustered.
’They really planned something together...!’ Nerith cried inwardly, her heart beating wildly.
