My Celestial Ascension Chapter 981: Varia’s Teasing
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
When Yuan returned after taking a bath, Anna Grace had already finished introducing everyone to Lilith and had even explained the basics of cultivation to her.
He also noticed that everyone was getting along quite well with Lilith, which made him happy.
"You all seem to be getting along with her really well. I’m honestly surprised," he said with a smile before sitting beside Anna Grace.
Julie gave him a pointed look and said, "Does that mean you think we’re always causing trouble? Do you take us for bullies?"
"N-No, that’s not what I meant..." Yuan replied, caught off guard by her words.
"Anyway, we explained everything about cultivation to her while you were busy spending time with Emma and Lily. You should be grateful to us," Julie said calmly, a proud expression on her face.
’I see... So she’s jealous of Emma and Lily. Now I understand why she seems a little aggressive,’ Yuan thought with an inward smile.
He then turned to Lilith and asked, "Lilith, would you like to become a cultivator like us?"
"I would," she replied immediately, her voice filled with excitement.
"After learning about cultivation and all the benefits it brings, how could I possibly refuse such a precious opportunity? Besides, I want to stay with you for a very long time."
Yuan nodded with a smile and extended his hand.
"Then come with me to the training room. It will be much easier for you to focus there, and it’ll help you take your first steps toward cultivation."
Lilith immediately got to her feet, took his hand, and followed him with sparkling eyes.
She had witnessed many things that Yuan and his wives had accomplished—things that seemed impossible to ordinary people. And now, she had the opportunity to obtain the same power as them.
Inside the training room, Yuan guided Lilith into a lotus position and carefully explained the process of becoming a cultivator.
"Here, I’ve chosen this cultivation technique for you. You need to learn this first, because without it, you won’t be able to cultivate." Yuan handed her the cultivation manual—the Eternal Night Scripture.
"Once you memorize and understand the technique, you can begin cultivating immediately."
"Is that all?" Lilith asked, her hands trembling slightly as she held the manual.
"Yes. I won’t disturb you any longer so you can focus on it peacefully," Yuan said before leaving the room and allowing her to study in silence.
Once Yuan left, Lilith opened the manual and began reading it with great interest.
"What is this? I can’t understand a single word in this manual..." she muttered, a puzzled expression appearing on her face.
However, remembering Yuan’s words, she trusted his judgment and continued reading despite understanding almost nothing.
To her absolute surprise, as she repeatedly read the manual, she gradually began to comprehend its contents.
’What is going on?! How am I suddenly able to understand it now?’ she exclaimed inwardly.
What she didn’t realize was that many hours had already passed since she had entered the room and begun reading the manual.
To her, it felt as though only a few minutes had passed, yet in reality, several hours had gone by without her noticing.

Lily and Emma entered the room where Yuan and the others were gathered, both wearing slightly puzzled expressions.
"Where’s that vixen? Where did she go?" Lily asked the moment she arrived.
"She’s currently inside the training room," Valeria replied calmly.
"Oh." Lily didn’t ask any further questions and simply took her seat.
"And where have you two been for so long? Don’t tell me you spent several hours taking a bath," Anna Grace said, giving Lily a suspicious look.
"We got tired and took a short nap after washing up... We didn’t realize how much time had passed," Emma replied, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.
"My, my... I wonder what could have made you two so tired that you ended up falling asleep... Fufu~" Kitsura chuckled softly.
As soon as Emma heard that, her face turned completely red. She quietly moved closer to Yuan and used her hands to hide her embarrassment.
Yuan could only shake his head and let out a helpless sigh.
"I wonder if Lilith has managed to learn the technique yet... It’s been several hours since she entered that room," Mireya said, a hint of curiosity in her voice.
"How about we sneak a peek inside and see what she’s doing?" Lily immediately suggested.
"We could certainly do that..." Vanessa agreed with a smile.
"Absolutely not." Long Yuyan immediately stopped them. "Even the slightest disturbance could break her concentration. In the cultivation world, it’s considered taboo to interrupt someone while they’re cultivating or in deep meditation."
"I see... In that case, we’ll wait for her to come out on her own," Lily said with a sigh.
A few moments later, Isolde looked at Yuan and asked, "So, when are we leaving this continent? I need to inform my family about my departure, or they’ll continue looking for me."
"Tomorrow. We’ll leave tomorrow," Yuan replied after thinking for a moment.
He then turned to Nerith and said, "You should also let your family know about your departure. Don’t wait until the last moment."
"You don’t have to worry about that. I already told them I’d be leaving with you. The only thing they don’t know is when we’re departing," Nerith replied casually.
"Huh? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?" Yuan asked, looking surprised.
"Well... I forgot about it..."
"And what about our relationship? Did you explain that to them too?"
"Yes, I told them everything," she replied with a smile. "They kept pestering me until I finally gave in and explained it all out of frustration."
"I see... So they already know about our relationship..." Yuan let out a soft sigh.
"You should go and talk to them. Let them know that we’ll be leaving tomorrow."
"Alright. I’ll go tell them right away," Nerith replied with a smile before immediately leaving the room.
Isolde also rose from the sofa and said, "I’ll return to my estate and inform my family about my departure as well."
With that, Isolde left the palace and headed straight for the Vampire Kingdom.
—
Empress Varia and Emperor Rhex were enjoying a peaceful moment together in the garden. Ever since the war ended, the entire continent had gradually returned to peace.
Although many scars remained and would take time to heal, everything was slowly moving forward in an orderly manner.
"How is the development of the new residential district going? Has there been any progress?" Empress Varia asked as she placed her teacup on the table.
Emperor Rhex took a sip of his drink before replying, "It’s progressing smoothly. However, there’s a shortage of workers at the construction site. We’re actively recruiting more people and have already posted several notices."
"The minister mentioned that he managed to recruit some skilled workers from Duke Hexryn’s territory. They should arrive within a few days."
"Oh, that’s wonderful news," Empress Varia said with a smile.
"What are you two discussing? Care to fill me in?"
Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded from behind them, immediately causing the two to turn around.
"Oh, Nerith, it’s you," Empress Varia said with a smile, gesturing for her to take a seat. "Why have you suddenly come looking for us? Did you get bored spending time with your man?"
"You’ve practically forgotten about us ever since you met him. Have we become that unimportant in your eyes?" she added, giving Nerith a teasing look.
"It’s not like that, Varia. I’ve been busy with something important and simply didn’t have the time," Nerith replied with a soft sigh.
"Didn’t have the time? What kind of important matter could keep you from talking to your own family?" Varia asked with a dissatisfied look.
"Unfortunately, I can’t tell you. It’s a secret," Nerith replied in a nonchalant tone.
Empress Varia raised an eyebrow before glancing at Emperor Rhex and giving him a playful wink.
"Oh? So you’ve been spending romantic moments with your husband. My apologies for bringing up such a ’sensitive’ topic... Fufu~" Empress Varia giggled mischievously.
"T-That’s not what you’re thinking at all!" Nerith exclaimed, her face flushing red.
After calming herself down, she continued, "Actually, I came here to tell you something important. Tomorrow, we’ll be departing for the Human Continent."
"Yuan doesn’t have much time to remain here. He also has no idea about the current situation there since those so-called gods have been hunting his group relentlessly."
"And once he returns, a massive war between his group and the gods of the High Heaven is inevitable."
As soon as those words left her mouth, the atmosphere in the garden became silent.
Empress Varia and Emperor Rhex stared at Nerith in surprise, unable to speak for several moments.
"S-So soon? You’re really leaving with them?" Empress Varia finally asked after composing herself.
"Unfortunately, I have to," Nerith replied with a soft sigh. "They are my family now. I’ve become Yuan’s wife, and as his wife, I’ll accompany him wherever he goes."
"I see..." Varia lowered her gaze and sighed deeply, finally realizing that Nerith truly belonged to another family now.
After a brief silence, Emperor Rhex smiled gently and said, "In that case, let us hold a feast tonight. It will be our way of sending you off."
—
Meanwhile, Lilith emerged from the training room.
Her entire body was covered in sweat, and there seemed to be a faint layer of dark impurities on her skin. However, she could clearly feel the tremendous changes within her body.
"Cultivation is truly amazing..." she muttered, feeling the newfound strength coursing through every part of her body.
She clenched her hand lightly and could feel that she was far stronger than before.
However, just as she was celebrating her breakthrough, an unpleasant odor suddenly entered her nose, causing her expression to stiffen.
She lowered her head and sniffed herself.
"...Why do I smell so terrible?"
A second later, her face turned pale.
"I need to take a bath immediately! I smell like rotten eggs!" she exclaimed before hurriedly running toward the bathroom.
