My Celestial Ascension Chapter 954: Defeat Of The Undead Dragon
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
"Was that all you had to offer? What a profound disappointment." Lily gazed at the Undead Dragon, her eyes reflecting clear dissatisfaction.
The flames within the dragon’s vacant eye sockets had diminished, now flickering weakly as if on the brink of total extinction.
The Undead Dragon appeared utterly spent, struggling to maintain its position in the air, its skeletal structure greatly compromised by Lily’s unyielding assaults.
"W-Why are you meddling in our affairs? This conflict does not concern you..." the Undead Dragon uttered, its voice a low growl tinged with annoyance.
Lily expressed slight surprise at hearing the grotesque creature vocalize; she had presumed it was merely a subservient mount for the Undead King.
However, the Undead Dragon was now addressing her directly, leaving her momentarily taken aback.
"So, you possess the ability to communicate... a most unexpected trait for an undead being such as yourself," Lily remarked softly, her icy gaze locked onto the dragon.
"Naturally, I can communicate. Unlike those lesser undead, I possess independent will and consciousness," the Undead Dragon retorted instantly.
"Nevertheless, that will not alter the outcome—your demise is imminent," Lily countered calmly, her expression unmoved as her hand tightened its grip on her sword’s hilt.
"Nor is yours... I SHALL ANNIHILATE YOU!!" the Undead Dragon bellowed in fury, unfurling its vast wings.
The surrounding atmosphere grew intensely hot as the flames in its eyes flared with renewed vigor, followed by torrents of azure fire spewing from its maw, engulfing its entire form.
The dragon became wholly enveloped in celestial blue flames, and progressively, its dimensions swelled, mirroring the escalating temperatures across the entire expanse of the battlefield.
The heavens themselves deepened to an indigo hue under the blaze, while waves of searing heat radiated outwards from the dragon’s colossal frame.
"Now, perish beneath my talons, mortal!!"
The Undead Dragon roared before sweeping a gargantuan claw towards Lily, the appendage wreathed in flames so potent they generated a scorching heatwave that swept the battlefield.
Despite the onslaught, Lily maintained an absolute composure. Not a trace of apprehension or strain was visible in her eyes. Her expression remained impassive, her gaze sharp and unswerving.
She permitted the Undead Dragon’s claw to advance upon her, remaining utterly still in the air, unmoving by even a single inch.
This spectacle sent shockwaves through every observer on the battlefield.
Panic ensued among the onlookers as they witnessed the immense claw descend upon Lily, who stood frozen mid-air.
"W-What is that woman doing?! Why isn’t she evading?!"
"She’s going to be pulverized by that enormous claw!!"
"Did the Undead Dragon inflict some sort of curse upon her?! Is that why she’s paralyzed?!?"
Chaos erupted across the battlefield as a multitude of speculations rippled through the allied forces, each individual grinding their teeth as they watched the terrifying tableau unfold.
Even the Undead King himself could not help but observe Lily with astonishment, utterly perplexed by her inaction.
’Has that woman resigned herself to death? But that seems impossible... she doesn’t present as someone who has surrendered...’ he mused, the inferno in his eyes intensifying as he focused solely on Lily.
He scrutinized her every subtle movement, acutely aware that underestimating Lily was a grave error he could not afford to make.
After all, she was the very individual who had effortlessly hurled both him and his mount from the sky to the ground. Furthermore, even his potent lightning assaults had proven utterly ineffective against her.
’Neither my attacks nor the dragon’s assaults have any discernible impact on her... what kind of entity is she, precisely?!?!’ the Undead King cried out internally, his mind incapable of grasping Lily’s true capabilities.
Lily’s very essence remained an enigma, a profound mystery that even the Undead King, with his eons of existence, could not unravel.
Concurrently, the Undead Dragon’s colossal claw abruptly halted its descent mid-air, as if ensnared by an invisible force that forbade any further motion.
The Undead Dragon reacted with shock as its claw became immobilized by an unseen power; despite its utmost efforts, it could not retract its limb, finding it utterly unresponsive.
’W-What manner of sorcery is this?!?! Why can I not withdraw my arm?!?!’ the Undead Dragon shrieked inwardly in sheer panic.
Regardless of the strength it exerted, it remained unable to dislodge its limb—it was held fast as if anchored to an immovable mountain.
"You...! What sorcery have you employed against me?!" the Undead Dragon bellowed at Lily, the flames within its eyes burning with incandescent rage.
Yet, Lily remained serene in her position, a mocking grin spreading across her lips as she sneered at the Undead Dragon.
"You spoke of extinguishing my life... and yet, I can halt your actions—or even utterly annihilate you—without exerting any effort. Or perhaps you simply revel in empty boasts?" Lily’s voice resonated across the battlefield, composed and measured, yet imbued with a disdain so potent it could humiliate even a dragon.
The dragon was rendered speechless by her words, its fury escalating uncontrollably. However, despite its immense rage, it found itself utterly powerless in its current predicament.
Even the Undead King was left without words by the spectacle. Never in his existence had he conceived that a dragon could be halted without even a physical touch.
'What forbidden technique did that lunatic employ to subdue the dragon?! How formidable is she?' he cried internally, a wave of utter despair washing over him.
Abruptly, a dawning realization caused his entire frame to stiffen.
He had encountered this woman before... somewhere within the desolate desert. It wasn't just her, the one battling his dragon, but all the women currently decimating his forces—he recognized every single one of them.
'So that's it... no wonder they all seemed eerily familiar... they are the same group I crossed paths with in the desert not too long ago...' he mused, his gaze sweeping over the women who were now dominating the battlefield.
Then, he scanned the war-torn landscape as if seeking a particular individual, yet he could not locate the person he was searching for amidst the sheer pandemonium.
'Where is that man who accompanied them? He is the one I should genuinely be concerned about...' he thought, vividly recalling the unsettling sensation he experienced when he first laid eyes on him in the desert.
And just then, his gaze fell upon a figure standing poised atop the Great Wall, prompting his body to instinctively recoil.
There, perched upon the Great Wall, was Yuan—his golden eyes locked onto the Undead King with the intent gaze of a hunter.
'So, he is here... the terrifying entity I witnessed that day...'
—
Lily advanced through the air towards the colossal Undead Dragon, her demeanor serene as her hand tightened its grip upon her sword's hilt.
"It was quite entertaining sparring with you... but the time has come for me to conclude this little diversion. I have other matters to attend to." Lily's voice was soft, her expression utterly unperturbed.
She invoked Qi Manifestation once more, effectively immobilizing every limb of the dragon and even sealing its maw shut.
The feat was effortless for her; no matter the amount of strength the Undead Dragon exerted, its body remained completely inert.
A chilling aura suddenly erupted from Lily's form, diminishing the flames engulfing the Undead Dragon until they were nearly extinguished.
The sword she held began to emit a faint bluish luminescence as the ambient temperature plummeted drastically.
An icy frost began to creep across the dragon's body like a growing network, encasing it entirely and freezing its movements as the surrounding flames dissipated completely.
Slash!
Without a moment's delay, Lily executed a single, swift, and precise slice with her blade.
Whoosh! Clank! Clank!
Her sword instantly tore a gaping wound through the dragon's chest, cleaving the core within into two distinct fragments before rapidly spreading ice surged throughout its entire being.
The ice exploded outward from the massive gash in the dragon's chest, completely encasing it within an immense, solid block of frozen material.
Turning away, Lily uttered in a tone devoid of emotion, "This marks your end."
As she slowly descended from the heavens, hairline fractures began to snake across the colossal ice formation that imprisoned the Undead Dragon.
Moments later, the frozen dragon disintegrated into fine particles, leaving absolutely nothing behind.
The entirety of the dragon was utterly annihilated from existence in mere moments.
The assembled allied forces observed this scene with profound astonishment, their battles momentarily forgotten as they gazed upon the Undead Dragon transforming into countless icy motes.
"D-Did she just vanquish that undead dragon?"
"She didn't merely defeat it... she completely erased its very existence!!"
Astonished whispers swept across the battlefield as every eye widened, rendering them incapable of comprehending the spectacle they had just witnessed.
Meanwhile, Anna Grace and her companions had also concluded their annihilation of all undead soldiers under their command, leaving behind vast piles of skeletal remains across the battlefield.
Although some undead dissolved into dust upon demise, remnants of their forms still lay scattered throughout the war zone.
"It appears we are on the verge of winning this war..." Yuan remarked, observing the battlefield from his vantage point atop the Great Wall.
"Indeed. Once that buffoon in the center is eliminated... this conflict will finally reach its conclusion," Long Yuyan responded with a calm nod.
"Hmm... I wonder who will engage that repulsive creature now..." Selvariel mused, her gaze fixed upon the Undead King.
"Perhaps Mother-in-law herself? After all, she is the most powerful among us, and vanquishing that beast should pose little challenge for her," Fang Xiaoyan replied softly, standing adjacent to Yuan.
"We shall ascertain this very soon," Yuan responded with a subtle smile, redirecting his attention towards Anna Grace.
Anna Grace was now streaking through the air towards Lily at incredible velocity, having thoroughly eradicated the undead soldiers under her direct charge.
The remaining undead forces could be readily handled by others. However, the Undead King represented an entirely different caliber of threat.
Lily had already triumphed over the Undead Dragon, and as the matriarch of her family, Anna Grace now had the solemn duty to confront the ultimate adversary herself.
Meanwhile, the Undead King’s senses had already been alerted to her approaching presence, leaving him in a state of full readiness. Having witnessed Lily’s formidable power, he no longer dared to harbor any underestimation towards any of them.
