Qin Miaomiao proposes a collaboration to Mo Wenwan, who is facing pressure from paparazzi and struggling with her company's finances and creative differences with Li Li. Meanwhile, Li Li confronts Huang Shan about her relationship with President Shan.

Huang Shan's intense focus on the pen in her hand was observed by Li Li as he stood up. "What I mean is not that, but rather the price you are willing to pay for notoriety," he stated.

Huang Shan's heart became heavy upon hearing his words. She had hoped for some solace from Li Li, but the situation proved to be more convoluted than she had imagined. An uncontrollable tremor ran through her shoulders, and the more she contemplated the matter, the more difficult it became to accept. Confronted by the man's detached gaze, she impulsively moved towards him.

"You know perfectly well that I could never harbor ill feelings towards you, regardless of my actions. Why then do you insist on causing me pain, despite knowing my enduring affection for you?"

Li Li found himself caught in Huang Shan's embrace from behind, a situation he found unwelcome. Yet, instead of immediately disengaging, his thoughts drifted to another woman. He had, on multiple occasions, wondered if a different path with Qin Miaomiao might have allowed him the same intimacy of holding her waist from behind.

Even in his daydreams, Li Li entertained such thoughts, especially when observing Huang Shan's demure demeanor, which seemed to ignite his imagination.

"Li Li, what's the reason for your silence? I've come today to inform you that my arrangement with President Shan has concluded."

"Is that so? Hmm!"

Li Li's scoff sent a wave of unease through Huang Shan. Her body tensed, and she stared blankly at his back, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. Especially after hearing President Shan's accounts of Li Li, a seed of fear had been planted, despite her reluctance to believe that Li Li harbored a hidden side.

"It's because President Shan grew weary of you that you now wish to leave him, isn't it?"

With that, Li Li roughly pushed Huang Shan away, fully aware of her subtle manipulations. Observing her continued refusal to lower her head, he realized that years in the industry would not foster significant growth in her. A sense of calm settled over him.

"You already know?"

Huang Shan's stammered response caused Li Li's gaze to falter. Witnessing her crestfallen expression, he was reminded of her swift agreement to join President Shan, who, fittingly, had contacted him the very next day to readily invest, authorizing his secretary to finalize the contract without hesitation.

"I am more familiar with President Shan's strategies than you are."

Li Li glanced at Huang Shan, anticipating her next words. However, with the company currently focused on training several newly signed artists, he gestured summarily. "Focus on your new role, then take some time to rest. I will arrange some endorsements for you. Refrain from any further complications this year."

His intentions were explicit, yet Huang Shan found herself unwilling to comply. The prospect of playing a supporting role, rather than a leading one, settled uneasily with her, and she felt increasingly dismissed by Li Li's words.

"What actor can possibly endure a fall from a leading role to a supporting one? Last time, I was relegated to a cameo, and this time it's still a supporting part. Will I be stuck with minor roles indefinitely?"

Reluctance coloring her words, Huang Shan faced Li Li with her final flicker of hope. Despite her awareness of Li Li's reservations about her, particularly in light of the scandals and negative rumors that had burdened him, she could not bear the thought of continuing in supporting or minor roles; it would surely drive her to despair.

"Are you implying, Huang Shan, that you are incapable of portraying any character other than the lead?"

Li Li's question, laced with an implicit warning, caused Huang Shan to become somewhat apprehensive under his scrutiny.
