My attributes are increasing infinitely Chapter 1: Ethan Hunt

Blue Star – Year 2050

Base City 5, Central High School

Class 10

Golden afternoon sunlight filtered through the reinforced glass of Central High School, painting warm lines across the tidy desks of Class 10. Despite the bright glow, a heavy, suffocating silence gripped the room.

Mr. Arnold stood at the front, his tall frame composed and his expression grave as he scanned the young faces before him. The digital blackboard behind him shimmered with clinical precision, displaying the heading: The Great Calamity of 2000.

“Fifty years in the past...” Arnold started, his voice steady yet carrying an immense weight. “On July 5th, the heavens were torn asunder. An unimaginable rift pierced our atmosphere, releasing a glowing, mysterious gas that enveloped the globe within hours. With that arrival, our world was altered irrevocably.”

The classroom fell into a deep hush. Though they had been taught this history since they were toddlers, the sheer scale of the event never lost its impact.

“Everything that gas touched began to mutate. Flora, fauna... even humanity itself. While the natural world adapted with frightening speed, human evolution could only crawl forward. Furthermore, the continents shifted, merging into one massive supercontinent. Even with 70% of the Earth remaining underwater, it was no longer the planet our ancestors inhabited.”

A holographic globe hummed to life, rotating slowly in the air to show the reconstructed world.

“In the first half-year, one billion souls perished.”

A collective gasp whispered through the room. No matter how many times the statistic was repeated, it still chilled them to the bone.

“And then,” Arnold continued, “the Beast Tide arrived.”

With a tap of his screen, Arnold brought up images of terrifying mutated monsters—massive, snarling titans of flesh and raw power.

Humanity fought back with everything they possessed, yet their efforts were futile against the creatures. Tanks, fighter jets, artillery, and snipers—nothing could pierce the hides of these beasts. Ultimately, they were forced to use their final trump card: the nuclear bomb.

“The nuclear strikes were immediate... and devastating. It resulted in mutual destruction.

Vast territories were transformed into radioactive graveyards.

Humans died like insects. Our species' final hope was to retreat into fortified enclaves—the locations we now call Base Cities.”

He paused, allowing the gravity of his words to sink in before his voice took on a tone of deep respect.

“Yet, from the ruins, a glimmer of hope appeared. A mysterious island emerged near the new supercontinent, wrapped in an alien atmosphere. World leaders, desperate for any salvation, sent an expedition. What they discovered there rewrote the fate of mankind.”

The display shifted to a gargantuan wreck: a half-buried alien starship, its hull scarred by time but still vibrating with a hidden, ancient power.

“Contained within those ruins was knowledge far beyond our highest intellect. More crucially, it provided a path to martial arts—a method for humans to refine and absorb cosmic energy.”

The students sat up straighter, their eyes gleaming. This was the legendary tale that always ignited their passion.

“One year later, the very first martial artist emerged.”

Following that milestone, countless martial artists rose within the various base cities. Simultaneously, scientists utilized alien technology to develop laser weaponry, reinforcing the city defenses.

These martial artists took the fight to the monsters, gradually reclaiming territory. They began a systematic exploration of the supercontinent.

Additional alien ruins were unearthed.

Fresh technologies and new cultivation techniques were brought to light.

Humanity was finally flourishing once again.

“However, we were blinded by our own arrogance.”

After three decades of rapid progress, we believed we were strong enough to seize the world back from the monsters, launching a final, decisive campaign.

But we had overlooked a critical factor.

The ocean.

The most enigmatic realm on the planet. Since the Calamity, humanity had rarely ventured into the deep, leaving them ignorant of the horrors lurking in the abyss.

The visuals changed to the sea—massive tidal waves and nightmare-inducing leviathans rising from the depths. There were sharks the size of submarines and whales as large as aircraft carriers. Lobsters possessed claws so mighty they could shear through steel like a hot blade through butter.

“We failed to account for the 70% of the world hidden from our sight. And then... the Ocean Emperor appeared.”

The room’s lighting dimmed. An island-sized octopus rose from the waves, its eyes burning with hatred. Each tentacle was a harbinger of annihilation.

“No machine could halt its path. Cities were submerged. Martial artists—our greatest heroes—were slaughtered.”

Arnold’s voice dropped to a whisper.

“That was when he arrived: ‘Dragon.’ The most powerful human to ever exist on Blue Star. Wielding a sword recovered from the alien ruins, he engaged the Emperor in a duel that made the very Earth tremble.”

The class watched, captivated, as the recording played out—storms of energy, crashing tides, and a solitary warrior standing against the end of the world.

“They fought for three days and nights without a victor. Eventually, a pact was struck: Dragon would stay out of the oceans, and the Ocean Emperor would not interfere with humanity’s struggles on the land.”

The lights flickered back on. A profound silence followed.

“That occurred twenty years ago. In the time since, we have rebuilt our society. Our Base Cities are thriving, and martial arts have reached new heights. And Dragon... he still watches over us, a guardian in the dark.”

He turned to the class, his eyes sharp.

“Your college entrance examinations start in one month. If you excel in both the academic and martial portions, you might earn a spot at Aurora Martial University, the premier institution on the planet. Even if you miss that mark, other elite universities await.

But before that... you must achieve the rank of Quasi-Warrior. In fifteen days, your certification exams will take place at the Alliance Branch Hall.”

He stopped, letting the weight of the deadline settle on them.

“The survival of our race may one day depend on you. Train with everything you have. Class dismissed.”

The moment the door closed behind Mr. Arnold, the quiet shattered. The room erupted into chatter.

“Man, that same old speech? I could basically say it in my sleep by now!”

Bursts of laughter filled the air. However, at the back of the room, Ethan sat motionless. His skin was deathly pale, his breath hitched, and sweat beaded on his forehead.

Ryan, his muscular childhood friend, looked over with a worried frown and poked him. “Ethan? You okay, man? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Ethan offered no reply. He was unable to speak.

His mind was a chaotic whirlpool. Where... where am I? What is happening?

He remembered... he had been walking in a park, minding his own business, when a reckless truck appeared out of nowhere and slammed into him. After that, there was only darkness.

I died. Didn’t I?

Is this hell?

His heart hammered against his ribs. Everything felt alien—the language, the room, the advanced tech, the mentions of alien ruins and martial arts...

This was definitely not Earth.

A piercing pain suddenly lanced through his brain, making Ethan gasp. A flood of foreign memories rushed in—bits of a life that wasn't his. He saw faces, names, school routines, combat rankings, and gene locks.

His head pounded and his stomach twisted in knots.

He lost consciousness.

The world faded to black.

---

When he finally came to, he was lying in the school infirmary. Bright, sterile lights hummed above him. His body shook as if he had just survived a massive fever.

“Ethan! You’re finally awake!”

Ryan’s face appeared above him, his expression etched with anxiety. “Man, you really gave us a scare.”

Ethan sat up with difficulty, his mind still spinning.

“I’m... Ethan Hunt,” he muttered, trying to ground himself. “Blue Star... Base City 5...”

The name felt strange, yet it fit. He was no longer the Ethan from Earth; that man was gone. He had been reborn into this new world—a savage, magnificent, and terrifying realm of beasts, martial power, and alien secrets.

Against all probability, his deepest wish had been granted.

He had always longed for a fresh start. A world where the strong prevailed. A place where he could climb to the top, fight, and live for a reason.

Now, it was his reality.

He shut his eyes tight.

Suddenly, a cold, robotic voice resonated within his mind.

“Ding! The Infinite System has been successfully activated.”
