Sikong Qinglan and Ye Yi’an attempt to defend Han Yan but are swiftly defeated by Kang Qingyuan. Despite being outmatched, Sikong Qinglan unexpectedly sacrifices himself to buy Han Yan and Ye Yi’an time to escape.

"Lord Sacrificial Officer!"

"Lord Sikong!" Han Yan and Mu Tu caught the two from left and right.

"Why didn’t you leave?" Sikong Qinglan said anxiously without finishing his sentence, spitting out another mouthful of blood.

Ye Yi’an looked helplessly at Han Yan. The two of them, even joining forces, were no match for Kang Qingyuan. He knew he couldn’t help and that Han Yan was on her own now.

"Take them away first," Han Yan said to Mu Tu and Ling Baobao.

"Huh?" Mu Tu looked at Han Yan in surprise.

"What do you plan to do?" Sikong Qinglan was equally puzzled.

"Don’t ask, leave immediately," Han Yan said calmly.

"Mu Tu, let’s go!" Ye Yi’an said.

Though Mu Tu was full of doubts, he dared not defy Ye Yi’an and quickly bent over to carry him.

Ling Baobao also stepped forward, embracing Sikong Qinglan in a princess carry. Although his powers had not developed much on any continent, he was quite strong.

"Put me down. Miss Mu, what are you trying to do?" Sikong Qinglan, completely in the dark, said worriedly.

"Stop complaining, it’s all your fault, thinking you’re so great, ruining my fun," Ling Baobao grumbled and dashed off with Sikong Qinglan.

He certainly understood why Han Yan wanted them to take Sikong Qinglan and Ye Yi’an away. With that Heavenly Stone, even if Han Yan couldn’t completely ignore the Divine Continent’s Law pressure, she would regain much of her power, and handling Kang Qingyuan shouldn’t be a problem. However, her Sword Dao Cultivation couldn’t be exposed to a Temple Priest.

"At this point, do you really think you can escape?" Kang Qingyuan sneered contemptuously, flying towards Sikong Qinglan and Ye Yi’an.

Suddenly, a figure flashed ahead, and Han Yan was standing in front.

"Oh? Such speed!" Kang Qingyuan was astonished, instinctively stopping.

Though he knew Han Yan had cultivated Martial Arts and wasn’t weak, her speed surpassed his imagination. Could it be that this young girl had mastered Martial Arts?

Despite most viewing Martial Arts as crude combat skills practiced by impoverished folks with no chance of becoming priests, Kang Qingyuan knew that mastering Martial Arts meant formidable combat power, capable of unexpectedly killing a Divine Priest or even a Divine Heart Priest.

Being cautious, he didn’t dare attack rashly, fearing a fatal strike from Han Yan.

"Mr. Kang, isn’t it suffocating with that thick cloth over your face? Do you really think we can’t guess who you are?" Han Yan said, looking at Kang Qingyuan with a playful smile.

Her Divine Sense enveloped the Primordial Stone, making Han Yan feel light, her long-suppressed Qi flowing through her meridians like a mountain stream.

Swordsman Fifth Rank, Sixth-tier Swordsman, Seventh-Order Swordsman... although she hadn’t yet returned to her peak power, or that a single Primordial Stone was unlikely to restore her to that Realm, the constant improvement exhilarated her, renewing her formidable confidence.

Behind her, Mu Tu and Ling Baobao, carrying Ye Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan, retreated farther and farther, their voices faintly audible.

"Let go of me, let go of me, such impropriety between men and women!"

"I’m a man."

"Impropriety between men, even worse!"

...

Han Yan nearly burst into laughter, her mood lightening.

"What if you do know, do you think you still have a chance to survive?" Seeing the relaxed smile on Han Yan’s face, Kang Qingyuan’s anger sparked.

Despite being one of Feng City Temple’s four great priests... even if he’d just lost the position due to Chu Yanghe, he was still strong. The little girl in front of him seemed to disregard him entirely.

Even if her Martial Arts were stronger than he’d imagined, how could she possibly succeed under his intensive defenses?

Angrily, Kang Qingyuan tore down his veil.

After all, this little girl had to die. Mu Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan were injured and couldn’t flee far. Once he’d killed the girl, he’d take care of the others, unafraid of exposing his identity.

"Looks like you’re determined to take my life," seeing Kang Qingyuan casually tear off the veil, Han Yan knew his mind and said sarcastically.

"Do you think you still have a chance to survive?" Kang Qingyuan scoffed.

"Maybe, no telling. How about we bet?" Han Yan joked.

She recalled Ling Baobao mentioning his money-loving mom loved betting, gaining numerous benefits with this trick. Lady Mu was currently short on funds and thought of this method. But as soon as she spoke, Lady Mu chuckled self-deprecatingly; this wasn’t a friendly competition but a life-and-death situation. Even if she won the bet, could she ask the deceased for the stake? Better to search his body after, for efficiency.

"Bet on what?" Kang Qingyuan instinctively asked.

"Forget betting, you’ll die anyway. If I win, what does it matter?" Han Yan said uninterestingly. Having finally thought of a way to get rich, it turned out to be useless, leaving Lady Mu a bit frustrated.

"Such arrogance, shouting so boldly while facing death!" Kang Qingyuan laughed in anger, suddenly recalling something, "Are you trying to stall, letting them escape farther? How can you think they can escape my grasp?"

Thinking he’d seen through Han Yan’s plan, Kang Qingyuan chuckled complacently. The little girl intended this, proving her lack of confidence, calming him further.

"No, really, you’re overthinking," Han Yan was surprised by Kang Qingyuan’s imagination.

Indeed, she hadn’t hurried to act, wanting to delay for Ye Yi’an and others to move farther, not to aid their escape but to prevent Sikong Qinglan from discovering her secret. Who knew the old man would imagine so much and laugh so proudly.

Shaking her head, Han Yan slowly drew her longsword.

"You’re truly reckless; since you seek death, I’ll grant it. Considering your decent talent, before you die, let me show you my true power," Kang Qingyuan shook his head, sneering and slashed at Han Yan.

Apparently angered by Han Yan’s indifferent demeanor, Kang Qingyuan’s slash was evidently showy, with ice crystals swirling like graceful snow sprites.

But soon, his smile vanished.
