Mrs. Huo is a Crybaby Chapter 2: I Am So Pitiful

Previously on Mrs. Huo is a Crybaby...
In the vibrant chaos of a pool party, Song Yaoyao finds herself submerged, unnoticed by the revelers around her. After being rescued, she coughs up water only to face mocking comments about her tears. The tension escalates as her older sister, Song Jingwan, mourns the situation while others blame Yaoyao for stealing the affection of someone dear to Jingwan. As fragmented memories flood her mind, Yaoyao realizes she has inexplicably returned to life within the pages of a tragic novel, where her character is fated to suffer. With a newfound clarity and determination, she prepares to reshape her destiny, hinting at an impending shift in her narrative.

A flicker of envy crossed Song Jingwan’s eyes as she gazed at the girl’s elegant and pristine face. “Yaoyao? Are you alright?” she inquired with a soft tone, reaching out to grasp Song Yaoyao’s hand.

Detecting the hidden malice in Song Jingwan’s gaze, Song Yaoyao’s lower lip curled slightly. However, her demeanor shifted instantly; she seized Song Jingwan’s hand instead, gripping it tightly as if refusing to let go.

With tears shimmering in her eyes, she spoke in a fragile voice, “I’m not okay at all, I feel like I’m freezing to death. Sis, would you please come with me while I change my clothes?”

As she offered this quiet plea, her eyes were misty and the tip of her nose had turned a faint red.

Aware that the surrounding crowd was increasingly focused on her, Song Jingwan maintained a smile and delicately tucked a stray lock of hair behind Song Yaoyao’s ear. “Of course. Even if you hadn't asked, I would be far too anxious to let you go back by yourself!”

She assisted Song Yaoyao to her feet while speaking, then turned toward the onlookers to offer an apology. “I'm so sorry, but we must end the evening here. Given what just happened, I need to stay by my sister’s side.”

Everyone felt obligated to show her respect, as Song Jingwan was the most prized daughter of the Song Family and a high-ranking socialite in Feng City.

Consequently, the entire party was cut short simply because Song Yaoyao had fallen into the water.

Even as the sisters walked away, the sounds of admiration followed them.

“The Elder Miss Song possesses such a wonderful personality. Not only is she beautiful, but she’s so gentle!”

“She is incredibly kind to her sister; it’s truly a pity that Song Yaoyao is so worthless.”

“I completely agree. Jingwan and Young Master Huo are clearly a match made in heaven!”

Amidst the wave of flattery, someone muttered a cold “Fake,” before departing.

...

Inside Song Yaoyao’s bedroom.

After finishing her bath, Song Yaoyao stood before the mirror, her eyes curving into crescents at her own reflection. With a bright smile, she called out to the room beyond, “Sis, I forgot to bring my clothes in. Could you help me out?”

She sounded exactly like the old Song Yaoyao, appearing to trust her elder sister implicitly.

But what exactly had her sister done to her?

Song Jingwan’s brow furrowed with impatience. Masking her irritation, she grabbed a random set of clothes from the wardrobe and carried them into the bathroom.

To her bewilderment, however, she scanned the room only to find no sign of Song Yaoyao. She stood there, stunned. “Yaoyao?”

Suddenly, as if appearing from thin air, Song Yaoyao emerged behind her and responded sweetly, “Yes, I’m right here.”

The moment the words left her mouth, she ruthlessly grabbed Song Jingwan by the hair and shoved her head down into a bathtub she had previously filled with water...

“Mm! Mmm, help, mmm...”

Stunned by the sudden assault, water rushed into Song Jingwan’s nose and mouth. She began to struggle violently, yet the hand clenching her hair remained incredibly powerful; the grip was so fierce it felt as though her scalp might be ripped away!

Gradually, she was starved of oxygen, and the terrifying sensation of drowning caused her to lose all hope.

She fought with every ounce of her strength to grab Song Yaoyao’s arm, but she couldn't find any purchase.

Just as her consciousness began to fade, the person pinning her down finally showed a hint of mercy and hauled her head out of the water.

“Huff...”

Song Jingwan’s pupils were dilated with shock. But the moment she managed to gasp for air, her head was plunged back into the depths before she could even react.

Once, twice, three times...

The girl standing behind her behaved like a demon. A smile played across her lovely face, revealing two deep dimples in her cheeks. She watched with a carefree expression as Song Jingwan teetered on the brink of life and death.

Her long, curled lashes cast shadows over her lower lids, making her look as exquisite and fragile as a doll in a shop window.

“Are you having a good time, Sis? Hmm?” Song Yaoyao giggled, tilting her head as she pulled Song Jingwan up once more.
