MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 920: Kinetic Reversal

Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Kingsley recovers instantly from Aura Nova’s initial sword techniques, demonstrating a level of essence regeneration that defies the normal laws of cultivation. Realizing the depth of his opponent's skill, Kingsley activates his Universal Limitation: Unseal technique, transforming into a divine golden form that allows him to erase incoming attacks from reality. He retaliates with a devastating strike that obliterates half of the forested plane, forcing Aura Nova to rely on her spatial abilities to survive. However, as Kingsley closes in for a physical blow, Aura Nova activates her Omniedit ability to hijack the logic of his attack, reflecting the full force of the impact back onto him.

Kingsley sliced through the atmosphere as Aura Nova closed the gap in a mere heartbeat. Raising her leg toward the heavens, she brought it down with the devastating power of a collapsing star, her heel aimed directly at Kingsley’s throat. His response was instantaneous. With a single hand, he parried the strike, shifting its path with terrifying accuracy. His frame adjusted midair immediately, remaining steady as if he had suddenly become immune to the laws of gravity.

‘She managed to redirect my strike,’ Kingsley mused, his golden eyes narrowing slightly. ‘I might need to reveal a new technique.’ The prospect amused him, and a subtle smirk played on his lips, showing his clear enjoyment of the escalating battle.

Suddenly, he launched a punch toward Aura Nova’s head. She dodged without delay, yet a thunderous force slammed into her temples the very next instant. Her body jerked violently to the side before being sent spiraling downward into the earth. The ground shattered upon her arrival, her momentum carving a massive trench through rock and dirt. As plumes of dust and debris billowed into the sky, Aura Nova stood up immediately, acting as though the destruction surrounding her was of no consequence.

Her blue eyes shot upward, meeting a kick already descending toward her chest. This time, Aura Nova didn't trust a simple evasion. Activating her Omniedit ability, she vanished from her spot and reappeared a full kilometer away. However, the moment she materialized, a titanic impact exploded against her chest with the undeniable power of a heavy cannon.

She was sent reeling backward once more, losing all control in midair as agony surged through her physical form and consciousness. The air shrieked while she was propelled across the horizon.

‘How?’ she questioned herself, unable to grasp the logic of the situation. She had evaded the first strike, yet it still connected. Then she had teleported a kilometer away, yet the blow found her regardless. It was a feat that defied space, logic, and the laws of causality.

But there was no time for contemplation.

Kingsley hammered her jaw with another massive punch. Her head snapped back as she was launched into the sky, tearing through layers of clouds and parting the heavens themselves with the sheer violence of the impact.

The technique Kingsley employed was Perfect Intent Projection. It granted him the ability to land hits regardless of distance or spatial barriers, making traditional dodging or blocking virtually useless. So long as his intent remained fixed on a target, the blow would land with inevitable certainty.

Aura Nova regained her senses almost instantly, her keen intellect already deconstructing the mechanics of Kingsley’s offense. In a flash, she engaged her Omniedit ability again. Her eyes glowed with brilliance as she peered into the structure of Kingsley’s technique, dismantling its secrets layer by layer.

Kingsley materialized again as if appearing from thin air, his fingers lunging toward Aura Nova’s eyes. This time, however, she was prepared. Having analyzed the ability and traced its trajectory, she understood its core principles. Though she still couldn't replicate the move, that was irrelevant. She tilted her head sharply, dodging the fingers cleanly while simultaneously erasing the projected impact that was meant to follow.

She struck back instantly, her fist hurtling toward Kingsley’s chest with immense power. Kingsley didn't move. He didn't even blink. He simply watched the incoming fist with a cold gaze.

Before Aura Nova could comprehend the shift, her own strike collapsed inward, hitting her own chest with catastrophic strength. The impact erupted like a miniature star, blowing her off her feet. Her body tore through the cloud layer as she was sent flying backward once again.

‘What is wrong with this man?’ she grumbled internally. She had just neutralized one of his powers, only for him to reveal another with effortless ease. Even worse, she couldn't figure out how she had ended up striking herself instead of him.

‘And my own attack has doubled in strength,’ she noted as blood stained her lips. She wiped it away fast, her regeneration already mending the damage. ‘It’s like he’s become a completely different person since entering that form.’ Despite the shock, she had already finished analyzing this second ability without needing to trigger Omniedit again.

Kingsley’s second power permitted him to reflect all physical strikes directed at him without moving or making contact. To make matters worse, the reflected force returned with twice its original intensity.

‘And that movement technique...’ Aura Nova thought. The moment the thought formed, Kingsley was already at her side. His speed had increased significantly, and space itself seemed to fold to facilitate his movement.

The moment she spoke, time came to a literal standstill. The world was frozen in absolute silence, with Kingsley trapped mid-motion like a statue carved into the fabric of reality. Aura Nova moved at once, preparing a non-physical strike. She knew now that physical attacks were futile against him.

Then, the impossible occurred.

Kingsley moved.

His elbow slammed into Aura Nova’s jaw with world-shaking power. Aura felt her mind reel as she fought to remain conscious. Her body was driven back into the earth, crashing through a forest canopy before hitting the ground with a heavy thud.

Aura Nova lay in the dirt, stunned.

She couldn't understand it. She had stopped time, yet Kingsley had bypassed the restriction. If it had been Aaaninja, she would have expected it. But Kingsley?

She looked up once more.

Kingsley was already standing over her as she lay paralyzed on the ground, looking down at her like a deity observing something trivial.

“Give up,” Kingsley stated flatly. “I’d rather not use any more of my cards.”

Aura Nova remained silent. Never in her life had she been dominated like this. In every previous encounter, she had ended the fight before it truly started. Even when her time-stop failed to secure an instant win, her victory had always been guaranteed. Now, even her ultimate trump cards were failing.

Kingsley raised an eyebrow as he felt Aura Nova beginning to manipulate mana. “This is only going to get more painful for you,” he sighed.

He saw her weakness clearly. She had been born so powerful that everyone else was beneath her notice. She had never known struggle or the need to adapt. Consequently, when faced with a true equal, she couldn't immediately maintain her dominance.

Nevertheless, Kingsley could see she was learning. She was adapting and evolving in the heat of the moment.

To him, however, it changed nothing.

He still held a staggering number of cards that he had never been forced to play since the universe had bestowed its blessings upon him.

Aura Nova, he decided, would serve as an excellent lab rat.
