MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 901: Law

The team continued exploring the ramen-themed Timeline, encountering various unique races. Aura Nova expressed a desire to move there, while Vega wished for a cake or ice cream-themed Timeline, which Anthony promised to deliver. Lucian hinted at knowing how Anthony would achieve this, but refused to elaborate. Romulus, the Divine Flame, appeared atop Vega's head. When Aura Nova attempted to analyze him with Omniedit, her eyes exploded, only to regenerate moments later. Anthony then introduced Romulus to the group, explaining his identity.

"I apologize for my conduct, Mr. Romulus, and... I am grateful for your assistance," Aura Nova stated with sincerity, offering her humble apologies.

A wave of confusion washed over the surrounding onlookers. It was difficult for them to grasp why Aura Nova would simultaneously apologize to and thank the spirit. These two gestures felt contradictory to the group, yet there was no denying the genuine respect laced in her voice.

"It is of no consequence, and you are welcome," Romulus answered. His tone was majestic and commanding, saturated with the inherent authority of a superior being, though a trace of softness lingered beneath the surface. Despite his undeniable arrogance, Romulus harbored a faint appreciation for women of beauty and talent, including Aura Nova. This subtle, restrained admiration was the primary reason he had stepped in to protect her moments ago.

Nevertheless, his mind remained free of any improper desires. He felt no carnal attraction toward them, nor did he perceive them in such a light. In his eyes, they were simply too fragile—beings existing on a much lower tier of Existence, Law, Order, and Reality—to even be considered in that way.

"Isn't this situation a bit perplexing?" Altheria questioned, her forehead creasing slightly.

"In what way?" Veronica asked, her curiosity piqued.

Kingsley cut in before Altheria could clarify. "If Romulus is a spirit as well," he mused, "how was the Spirit King defeated by him so easily?" His inquiry was blunt, lacking any malice and stemming purely from honest bewilderment.

Altheria nodded in immediate agreement. She had been pondering the exact same mystery. No matter how she looked at it, she couldn't fathom how one spirit could completely suppress another who held dominion over all spirit-kind.

Multiple pairs of eyes turned toward Anthony. Letting out a soft sigh, he felt a wave of exhaustion at the prospect of explaining. Sometimes, it was far simpler to label Romulus a spirit and leave the details aside.

"Romulus originates from a plane higher than the Acarnis Galaxy," Anthony explained with composure. "That is likely the reason."

While this explanation didn't capture the full complexity of the truth, it wasn't a lie either.

Visible shock spread through the group. The idea of higher planes or distant galaxies wasn't foreign to them; such concepts were common knowledge among the elite. However, knowing they existed was worlds apart from actually interacting with them. The Divinora Galaxy had only recently managed to surpass its own boundaries, and now they were discovering that Anthony had summoned a being from an even more elevated plane of existence.

Aura Nova, on the other hand, remained unfazed. Having encountered the Spirit King previously, she had once tried to analyze his essence. Back then, her eyes had bled heavily, though they hadn't burst, and she had managed to gather a tiny sliver of data. Contrasting that ordeal with what she had just witnessed, it was easy to conclude that Romulus did not belong to the Acarnis Galaxy. The Spirit King and other ancient entities already represented the absolute peak of the Acarnis Galaxy.

"Romulus, have you come to this Timeline for the ramen too?" Vega chirped, her curiosity completely unbridled.

Romulus gave a nod. "Indeed. I have the ability to access realms such as this, though I never saw the point in visiting," he remarked calmly. "But since you and Anthony are present, I decided I might as well join in."

Even though he could observe everything through Anthony’s soul, he had chosen to manifest a physical form this time.

"I see... so that was what you meant by having your own methods," Aaaninja remarked from the side, his gaze shifting toward Anthony. "You intended to ask your summoned spirit for the coordinates all along," he added, sounding as though he had solved the mystery.

Anthony lifted an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on his lips as he shook his head. In truth, he hadn't even considered that Romulus might have knowledge regarding various Timelines, such as the Ramen Singularity Timeline.

Aaaninja interpreted Anthony’s silent smile as a confirmation and said nothing more. Only Lucian, who was standing nearby, realized just how far off that assumption actually was.

Broth-ben remained a silent observer. Having guided many groups through Planet Nodara before, he understood that tourists required time to digest what they saw and heard before moving on. Consequently, he simply walked beside them in silence, looking like a mute personification of broth itself.

As they traveled, other guides—members of the various indigenous races of Planet Nodara—could be seen leading their own groups of foreigners, each party lost in their own sense of awe.

'Planet Nodara must be crawling with concealed masters,' Kingsley thought, sensing a powerful aura graze the edge of his perception. His logic was straightforward: the outsiders on Planet Nodara had to possess immense power to cross into a different timeline, or at the very least, utilize a potent artifact or an ability like Aura Nova’s.

'I’d love to test my skills against one of them if possible,' he thought to himself, 'though I doubt the local laws would permit it.'

Being someone deeply connected to the path of battle and martial arts, Kingsley could feel it clearly. The Laws governing Planet Nodara, and the entire Ramen Singularity Timeline, actively suppressed physical violence.

'A person cannot even throw a punch here,' he realized.

To confirm his theory, he made a sudden motion as if to strike Broth-ben. Immediately, an invisible force halted him, as the Law itself rejected the act of aggression.

'Only through culinary skill or verbal debate can one fight,' he deduced, shaking his head. He possessed no talent for cooking, nor was he particularly silver-tongued.

'I wonder... would Anthony’s Mirror Dimension be able to circumvent these Laws?' His mind continued to race with possibilities.

Eventually, Kingsley voiced his curiosity. "I attempted to throw a punch," he told Broth-ben calmly, "but it appears the Laws of your Planet and Timeline forbid it. How does one get around this?"

Broth-ben was not at all startled. Foreigners trying to use physical force was a frequent occurrence. In fact, it was almost to be expected.

"You are asking about bypassing the Laws of the Timeline and the Planet?" Broth-ben asked for clarification.

Kingsley gave a nod.

"It can be done," Broth-ben explained with patience. "One simply needs an incredibly high level of mastery over Savor Energy. Once that peak is reached, the Timeline will allow its rules to bend for you. However," he noted, "as an outsider, I doubt you have the required patience. Achieving such mastery takes thousands of years, and no visitor would ever want to spend that much time here."

Kingsley fell into a pensive silence. Even if someone attained that level of Savor mastery, it would be useless for actual combat. A person who hadn't struck a blow in millennia wouldn't suddenly be capable of true violence.

By that stage, they would have turned into a pacifist in every sense of the word.
