MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1351: Leaving The River Of Night Territory
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Anthony’s eyes fluttered open as the next morning arrived. After wiping out the six assassins, no one else had made a move, as they understood that they were probably just sending people to their deaths. Thus, they decided to wait. He rubbed his eyes groggily as his head shifted toward the nightstand. On it sat a clock, which read 10:33 a.m.
’Well... it’s definitely weird having lots of people watch you sleep. I wonder how those streams back on Earth do it,’ he yawned as he swung his legs to the side of the bed. He rose and stretched his body. ’After this, I’m going on a date with Vega. It’s been a while,’ he concluded before heading toward the bathroom.
He created a dome around the bathroom. After all, while he could allow these people to watch him sleep and eat, he certainly couldn’t allow them to see his nakedness. After throwing on the normal purple robe that the Above Disciples of the Null Sect wore, he stepped out of his room and walked toward the rooms of the other disciples.
Anthony knocked on Tory’s room, as he was more familiar with the man. The door opened, and Anthony stepped inside. His eyes landed on four other people: Lora Vake, Chu Feng, Jerry, and Chaos Betroth. Apparently, they hadn’t slept at all since they had left Anthony’s room.
How could they sleep when their lives were on the line? They might have been able to sleep if they were within Anthony’s room, but within their own rooms? Never!
They had all gathered in one room and stayed together, as though they had resolved to die together or something of the sort.
"Although I would love to ask how you guys might have slept, something tells me I already have the answer," Anthony spoke in an amused tone. He had slept like a baby, but these people’s paranoia wouldn’t allow them to do the same.
Although he understood them, if he were in their shoes, he, too, would have remained awake and ready to die fighting instead of dying in his sleep.
"You wouldn’t understand," Jerry spoke with a sigh as he shook his head.
Anthony remained silent for a moment before shaking his head, unwilling to argue or say anything about it.
"Breakfast?" he asked plainly.
The four of them stared at him as though he were some kind of different entity. After a moment of silence, Lora Vake decided to speak as she rose to her feet.
"I’d rather not spoil the heavenly meal that the Fifth Core Elder blessed us with," she stated as she stretched her body, squatting and extending her ankles and legs.
"Anyway, when are we leaving?" Chu Feng asked as he sat down. "Staying here isn’t changing much. We can’t stay here forever," he stated with a calm expression, as though he didn’t really care about the direction in which things were heading.
Anthony’s eyes turned toward the boy. He knew that Chu Feng wasn’t as bothered as the others because his Immortal Ring Grandpa or Grandma had probably created a way for him to escape when everything went downhill.
He shook his head as he spoke. "We will be checking out today. While I might have enjoyed having them stay outside and watch me the first time, I’m not really into that." He shook his head with a slightly defeated tone.
Hearing Anthony’s words, they all nodded their heads, saying nothing else. Since they were leaving that day, they had nothing more to say.
"In fact, if you guys are ready, we can leave right now," Anthony added, as he was also ready to leave at that very moment. There was nothing keeping him there anyway.
Hearing Anthony’s words, Chaos Betroth rose to her feet. She hadn’t spoken until then, but her demeanor had changed. At that moment, she stood like a woman ready to take on the entire Hellinder Realm.
Seeing the Fifth Core Elder rise to her feet, the others also stood, though they wore weak smiles on their faces. Seeing them stand, Anthony nodded before turning and walking toward the door, with the others following right behind him. They walked downstairs, as they were on the top floor. Upon reaching the lobby, they discovered that the place was already packed with hostile forces.
Anthony merely submitted their room key, tipped the inn manager, and walked away. As they stepped out of the building, he didn’t acknowledge the millions of people gathered outside. He waved his hand, and an exact replica of the airship that Chaos Betroth had used to bring them to the River Of Night Territory appeared in midair.
Everyone went onboard, and the airship hummed as it began moving ever so slowly, leaving the ground. People made way for them to pass as they headed toward the River Of Night Territory’s wall. Upon reaching it, there were no security checks, and they were allowed to pass without any issues, as even the River Of Night Territory understood what was about to happen.
With that, they left the River Of Night Territory. As they departed, the others followed closely behind and to the sides, ready to speed up or teleport if their prey attempted to flee.
But Anthony did neither. He merely continued moving as though he were waiting for them to attack instead. However, no attacks came. Although they were outside the River Of Night Territory, they were still within the surrounding area, and any attack would still reach the River Of Night Territory’s walls.
Therefore, they decided to wait until they were at least fifty kilometers away before unleashing their attacks. Upon reaching that distance, Anthony’s airship, which was already moving slowly, decelerated further before coming to a complete halt.
Anthony and Chaos Betroth stood on the deck of the airship as they waited for the other airships and methods of transportation following them to come to a stop.
As they halted, various cultivators jumped down, each landing with a deft touch as they stared at Anthony with nothing but killing intent in their eyes. Anthony couldn’t help but smile at them as he spoke in a calm tone.
"Unfortunately, you guys aren’t my opponents," he stated with a smile. "She is." He gestured toward Chaos Betroth.
Chaos Betroth stepped forward, the presence of a Progenitor swelling from her body. The air shook as though it were about to collapse at any moment, while the trees bent backward as though they were being affected by gravity. Many cultivators instantly fell to their knees as they coughed up blood.
The next moment, other Progenitor cultivators stepped forward, their own presences erupting as wills clashed against one another in pure madness. Raw killing intent collided in the air with overwhelming power. Chaos Betroth had to stop focusing on the weaker ones, as her opponents were her fellow Progenitors.
A wide grin appeared on her face. It was finally time. It was progress or death trying. There were no two ways about it.
The others who had been standing behind stepped forward with smiles on their faces, their presences rising ever so slowly. Anthony couldn’t help but turn toward them in surprise as he spoke.
