Geniuses emerged from the Underground Tomb, but only twenty percent survived, with many severely injured. Anthony noted the absence of the Abyssal Maw and focused on his sect's four survivors: Tory Hale, Lora Vake, Chu Feng, and Jerry. As they prepared to leave, Chaos Betroth was interrupted by accusations that Anthony had won the final reward. Despite her initial denial, nine other geniuses confirmed the claim, leaving them surrounded and outnumbered.

Anthony wasn’t the only one who came to that conclusion. The moment he reached it, almost everyone else arrived at the same realization. After all, it was the only plausible explanation for how the nine geniuses who had accused the human could still remember what had happened.

"I can remember what happened!" a random genius exclaimed in shock.

With that, shock rippled through the entire River Of Night Territory, as this was the first time everyone had retained their memories intact. They simply hadn’t noticed because nobody had bothered to check, having already come to terms with the fact that they would lose their memories.

Chaos Betroth turned towards the four Above disciples behind her to verify the claim. They looked at her and nodded with frowns. They, too, remembered everything that had happened without losing even a fragment of their memories.

Chaos Betroth passed them elixirs to heal themselves first. At this moment, they could only run. She had no intention of surrendering; it was simply a matter of do or die.

Millions of eyes focused back on Anthony, greed filling their minds and eyes, as all anyone gathered here could think about was the Final Reward left by The Lover Of Death. This was the man’s inheritance, after all. He was a legend, an undefeated existence, and the treasures he had left behind were tempting to everyone present.

Even if the treasures hadn’t been tempting, they were the only means of balancing the losses they had suffered today. They had to return home with something tangible. None of them considered the possibility that the reward might not be enough to go around and reach everybody. To them, what mattered at the moment was the current holder of the reward, and that was all.

Anthony couldn’t help but sigh weakly. He finally understood what The Lover Of Death had meant by his last statement before dissipating into motes of light.

The Oni had literally pitted him against the entire Sathor Grand Region.

"Null Anthony," a voice came from above. An Eternal Apex was speaking as the woman floated with a calm expression. "Hand over the rewards, and you and your people may keep your lives," she stated.

Nobody spoke. They didn’t need to. One Eternal Apex was speaking. Although she didn’t speak for everyone present, this was precisely what they would have said. And if Anthony handed the treasures to the woman, they would simply change their target to her.

It was just that simple. Whoever was the current holder of the treasures would become a target.

Many smaller forces could only watch. They knew that, in the end, this would be a battle between Eternal Apexes and Ancient Behemoths. Although they were greedy, they stood no chance of gaining anything here. And if they dared to rob the corpses of the dead just to gain scraps, they knew they would be targeted later on. That was assuming the shockwaves and blast waves from the battle between the Eternal Apexes didn’t wipe them out first.

So, some of them started moving backwards, their movements slow at first before gradually increasing in speed. They gained a good distance, activated life-saving artifacts, and vanished with their geniuses. Although watching was tempting, they would still hear about what happened later on.

Some didn’t move. They were too engrossed in the spectacle.

Hearing the woman’s words, Anthony didn’t move. He wasn’t naive enough to hand anything over to anyone, as that was the easiest and most surefire way to die. Even if he handed over all the treasures he had obtained from The Lover Of Death’s Vault, these people still wouldn’t leave him alone. They would kill him and then search his corpse to make sure he hadn’t hidden the most powerful and useful treasure among the rewards.

And if they found nothing, they would kill Chaos Betroth, Jerry, Tory Hale, Lora Vake, and Chu Feng, just to make sure that Anthony hadn’t passed the rewards to them through some hidden means. And if they found nothing, they would destroy the Null Sect, wipe out the Core Elders and disciples, and continue searching. When they found nothing, they could finally rest with a calm mindset, knowing that no treasure had escaped their grasp.

Anthony’s lips parted as he spoke in a calm and indifferent tone, his head rising as his sky-blue eyes met the woman’s black ones.

"I refuse."

At his words, the entire area fell speechless. They had expected him to give up at least something and then hide one or two things. After all, in his situation, that was what they would have done. But no, he hadn’t done that.

They couldn’t help but gaze at Chaos Betroth. They knew she was only at the Progenitor Rank, and they wondered if Anthony knew this, which had led him to act so arrogantly. Even if the woman were an Eternal Apex, could she take on over a hundred Eternal Apexes gathered here?

Definitely not.

Chaos Betroth and the Above disciples felt that Anthony had gone mad. Even if they knew these people wouldn’t spare them, it was better to bank on that chance than on nothing at all.

At the moment, Chaos Betroth was going through a difficult internal struggle. She couldn’t teleport with the Above disciples and escape, but if she did, she knew these people would instantly track them, and she would be leading them straight to the Null Sect instead, resulting in catastrophic losses.

Them dying here was better than dragging everyone else down with them. She turned to the four Above disciples who still hadn’t spoken until now. She nodded, and they nodded back as though they understood her. At their nod, each of them now possessed the will to die right here and now. They could only hope that nothing happened to the Sect.

"You know," Anthony continued, "I could just destroy the space ring, and with that, the treasures would be destroyed, too, and we would all suffer the loss," he threatened as he raised his hand, displaying his space ring.

"You seem to underestimate the speed of an Eternal Apex, Human," another Eternal Apex spoke. He was a man of the Gargoyle race. "We possess speed that surpasses even light itself. So, before you can even destroy the space ring, we could take it if we wanted to," he added in an indifferent tone, as Anthony’s threat meant nothing to him or the other Eternal Apexes.

Another Eternal Apex spoke. She was a woman of the Dullahan race.

"Not to mention, we know you’re bluffing." Her tone remained calm. "We Eternal Apexes have been alive since before some Galaxies were even born. You can’t fool us with a false space ring when we know the rewards are somewhere else." She shook her head before adding in finality, "You’re a couple of million years too early to fool us." Her eyes remained calm.

Everyone below the Eternal Apex Realm stood stunned by the Eternal Apex’s words, as they had been fooled. The reason they had been fooled was that anyone in Anthony’s position who didn’t fear death and wanted mutual losses would do exactly that. Many had done it in the past. If they were going to die, why should they leave their treasures with the enemy?

So, they had fallen for it because it was a common tactic that everyone used.
