MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1300: Dark Ocean
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
As Anthony was relaxing without a care in the world, noise echoed from the front, as it seemed that people were beginning to move. Anthony looked around and saw that many Old Seniors were giving their disciples one last piece of advice. And with that, those at the front began to jump into the enormous pit.
The Above disciples had thought they would be able to tell how deep and dangerous the Abyssal Maw truly was by watching the expressions of these Old Seniors whose disciples jumped in first, but they showed zero expression.
After all, if their disciples had died, why would they say so or show it? Everyone should suffer with them; that way, everyone would have losses.
Although various geniuses had jumped in, those who escorted these geniuses didn’t leave. They remained within the area, after all, they had to stay here and wait for their geniuses to return or die. But regardless, those whose geniuses had entered moved backwards, giving those at the back space to move forward and enter.
Soon, it was the turn of those who were floating in the air, as they were the ones who went last, meaning it was Anthony’s turn too. The top-tier Organizations like the Universal Cauldron went first before the rest followed.
Anthony, Tory, and the rest got to the pit as it was finally their turn. The Above disciples could feel their blood running cold just by staying near the Abyssal Maw; they couldn’t help but wonder how they were supposed to survive. The sight alone was enough to make even experienced cultivators hesitate, because nobody could know what awaited them beyond that seemingly bottomless darkness.
"Ready?" Anthony asked with a calm smile on his face, unbothered by whatever danger might be below.
As far as Anthony was concerned, he was the danger here, not the other way around.
"Let’s jump then," Tory stated as he stared inside the Maw. There was no light; it was just pure black, as though there was nothing else.
With that, the eleven of them jumped at the same time, but although they jumped, each of them immediately activated their flight ability that came when one reached a certain Rank.
Seeing them enter, Chaos Betroth simply remained on her ship without a change in expression. She only hoped everyone returned in one piece, although she knew that was just a delusional hope.
Anthony felt the darkness consume him. It wasn’t just darkness; it was the pure absence of light, as the Law Of Death in the air seemed to kill light photons in the air. As he activated his flying ability, he didn’t pause midair; he continued to plummet. As Lora Vake had suspected, their flight was already restricted just by jumping into the Abyssal Maw.
Anthony’s eyes moved to the side, but he couldn’t even see his own fellow disciples who had jumped with him. But he wasn’t bothered about the darkness, he knew that any time he wanted, he could see through it if he wanted.
He felt space twist, his Embodiment stage Law Of Space tingling as he instantly knew that whoever was controlling space had already attained one hundred percent comprehension of Space too.
As Anthony felt the space consume him whole, he felt space regurgitate him. The moment it did, Anthony found himself still falling from the sky, but this time, there was light as the sky was dimly lit, but by a dark sun. The clouds themselves were black, as though they were poisonous.
Anthony’s white hair billowed, his sky-blue eyes leaving the sky as he gazed downward, his eyes falling on the land below... except it wasn’t land, but water, a dark, churning ocean.
As Anthony reached the ocean, he simply landed with a deft touch, his feet meeting the surface of the water. Anthony arched an eyebrow as he noticed that the air he was breathing was poisoning his lungs. The wind that brushed past his clothes sought to decay them, but unfortunately, they were a Universal Clothing artefact that could never be torn or destroyed, which Anthony had bought from the system after his first assassination attempt.
’Isn’t this too harsh for someone who just entered?’ he mused to himself.
Although cultivators could hold their breath for hours, it was just a couple of hours, not days. Anyone arriving here would die after a few hours if they didn’t fill their Space Rings with poison antidotes.
As Anthony was lost in thought, from below, a gigantic beast shot upward. It seemed like a beast with a basilisk body and the head of a dragon. The moment it cut through the surface of the water, it opened its jaw and immediately launched a powerful force of pitch-black water. The force tore through the air like a beam of light.
’It can use Laws,’ Anthony immediately understood, ’it’s at the Law Enhancement stage,’ he concluded as he watched the water beam approach.
[Stages of Law; Law Enhancement {below 96%} Law Manifestation {96 to 99%} Law Embodiment {100%}]
Anthony didn’t bother blocking; he simply let the beam hit. The moment it was about to hit, Infinity activated as it shielded Anthony, as even if the beast’s attack was too weak to injure Anthony, it wouldn’t let it.
Anthony took a step and vanished from where he stood, his body shooting forward as he ran across the water’s surface. The beast’s eyes tracked him as though it could keep up with Anthony’s speed. Anthony leaped upwards with a smile on his face, his fist shooting forward like a bullet.
With a blasting force, Anthony’s fist met the beast’s head. The air shattered as the draconic head snapped to the side, the gigantic beast wailed as it plunged into the dark ocean, a huge force of water shooting upwards, forming a water wave. As it fell, the long body that was like that of a basilisk immediately lashed out like a whip as it slammed towards Anthony while he remained midair.
Anthony didn’t dodge; he smirked as he caught the enormous tail, the force of the slam coursing through his body, but he didn’t take a single step backwards as he stood in the air regardless of The Sleeping Hollow’s rules and restrictions.
The beast’s eyes contracted for a moment as it saw Anthony catch its tail, but before it could pull back, Anthony acted first as he pulled it upwards with immense force, the beast that easily weighed tons was lifted with ease and was thrown into the air.
The beast, seeing it was dragged out of the ocean and thrown into the air, immediately opened its jaw yet again and unleashed another beam of water attack, but with greater intensity and force this time.
Anthony simply dodged as he closed the distance between him and the beast. With a smile on his face, he clenched his fist and punched outwards with brutal force. The beast didn’t delay as it closed its maw and simply swerved, dodging Anthony’s fist.
Anthony smirked as he simply changed the course of his attack, his fist meeting the beast’s huge head regardless of the dodge. The impact was devastating, as it traveled throughout its body, the next moment, the entire body exploded outwards in a shower of black blood, flesh, and dark bones, each raining from the sky and into the ocean below.
