MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1131: Skill Books
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Irene and the others could only gaze at Anthony, who was lost in his own contemplation. Noticing their eyes on him, Anthony cleared his throat softly before proceeding, "So, there are a few things I do understand about the Ascension, and I will explain them now."
Collins and everyone else listened with rapt attention, as they possessed no knowledge regarding the Upper Galaxies or what truly lay beyond their current plane of existence.
"Though you all might be able to meet whatever entity or power is behind the Calling together, you will not find yourselves in the same Upper Galaxy," Anthony declared, meeting their gazes with a steady, factual tone.
Upon hearing Anthony's words, Irene, Collins, Mitchelle, and Michael immediately knitted their brows, their expressions hardening as the implication sank in deeply.
"It appears I shall not be ascending then," Collins stated without the slightest hesitation. He had no intention of venturing to some random Upper Galaxy and abandoning his wife to remain in another.
"Same here, there's nothing wrong with staying put," Mitchelle added instantly, her voice calm yet firm, as her devotion to her partner surpassed even the allure of the Upper Galaxies.
"What is the reason for this separation, Anthony?" Irene inquired calmly, entirely unconcerned and unfazed. After all, she had never harbored a particular interest in the concept of Ascension to begin with.
"The reason is quite simple: countless Upper Galaxies and Lower Galaxies exist, meaning each individual who ascends will be dispatched to a random Upper Galaxy. Consequently, everyone will inevitably be separated," Anthony expounded.
Michael shook his head as he spoke, "What is the point of answering the Calling together if we are just going to end up apart?" His tone was logical, yet his earlier excitement for Ascension had already begun to wane noticeably.
"So you can survive if there is a trial awaiting," Anthony responded with a slight shake of his head, but he received no reply from any of them, as they had already started to dismiss the notion of Ascension entirely.
Anthony let out a soft sigh before continuing, "You all are quite quick to jump to conclusions, you know," a faint smile gracing his lips. "I would not suggest enhancing your talents and pursuing Ascension if I had not already discovered a method to circumvent this issue," his voice imbued with calm confidence.
Everyone raised an eyebrow, awaiting this supposed solution, their attention sharpening once more with rekindled interest.
"This is the Mirror Dimension. It possesses the capability to envelop life and all within it, meaning that during the Ascension, Grandpa can simply place Grandma inside the Mirror Dimension and ascend while keeping her concealed," Anthony explained, presenting the precise solution the system had proposed.
"And before any of you claim you do not possess the Mirror Dimension ability, I shall convert it into a Skill Book and bestow one upon each of you," Anthony declared further. "You can even place the Null Estate within the Mirror Dimension if you wish to carry it along with you."
Anthony wasted no time with superfluous details. He snapped his fingers, unleashing Quantum Manipulation, and instantaneously generated four Skill Books, which he then conveyed to his parents and grandparents via precise telekinesis.
All eyes were fixed on the Skill Books for a fleeting moment. The explanation had been so lucid and direct that no further inquiries were necessary. With a mere thought, they willed themselves to utilize the Skill Books. In the following instant, the books disintegrated into shimmering wisps of light, passing directly through their foreheads as the knowledge and power integrated seamlessly within them.
They remained motionless and silent for a short duration, as if absorbing and comprehending the underlying mechanics and deeper principles of the newfound ability. After a brief pause, they gradually regained their composure.
"Excellent," Michael commented with clear satisfaction. Although each of them had developed various realms and dimensions over time, those constructs were invariably bound to specific spatial and temporal coordinates, rendering them impossible to transport freely.
"I've just gained some inspiration from this particular ability," Mitchelle remarked, her mind already swirling with inventive concepts. With her newly augmented faculties, her thoughts surged at an accelerated pace as she contemplated countless avenues she intended to explore and perfect further.
Collins and Irene offered no verbal response; they merely nodded in agreement, silently acknowledging the efficacy and practicality of the newfound capability.
With a subtle shake of his head, Anthony snapped his fingers once more. Four more Skill Books instantly appeared in existence. Distributing them, he explained, "The ability contained within this Skill Book is known as Position Marker. It allows you to designate a mark on anyone, anything, or any location, and with a mere thought, you can instantly transport yourself to that marked spot without any Mana cost or any form of expenditure whatsoever," he stated calmly.
Speechless, everyone gazed at the Skill Books in their hands, rapidly comprehending the truly overwhelming power of the ability bestowed upon them.
"So, this means..." Collins began, his voice faltering slightly as understanding dawned upon him.
"Indeed, it implies you will gain the capability to teleport across Galaxies, even across Universes," Anthony confirmed with a composed, detached tone.
He had bestowed upon them the Position Marker Skill Book for one specific reason: not to stifle their adventurous spirits, but to guarantee that distance would never manifest as an insurmountable barrier between them.
Given their profound love for each other, making prolonged separations unbearable, why not furnish them with a means to reunite whenever their hearts desired? Even if separated by entire Galaxies, they could still find their way back to each other. After all, Michael might yearn to explore another Galaxy, but he would never do so if it risked him never seeing Mitchelle or his parents again.
Previously, interstellar teleportation between Lower Galaxies was not even feasible; anticipating such movement across Upper Galaxies, where the Laws of Reality are significantly more stringent and resistant, would have been virtually impossible under ordinary conditions.
Even the act of teleporting solely between planets and solar systems was already immensely draining in terms of Mana, even for individuals of their caliber and level of mastery.
A smile graced the faces of Irene, Collins, Michael, and Mitchelle as they immediately activated the Skill Books. With this newfound ability, even if they elected to venture into different Galaxies later on, each of them could freely depart from their respective Upper Galaxies at any given moment. Irene, for instance, could simply choose to abandon her own Upper Galaxy and return to Collins if she ever reconsidered her solitary journey.
Collins shifted his gaze toward Irene. The bestowal of the Skill Book did not diminish his desire to remain beside his wife. However, that was not a conversation to be held at this present moment. They would revisit it later. If Irene wished for a journey of her own, he would honor her decision, yet he would still keep tabs on her from time to time, regardless of the distance or circumstances.
Irene turned to meet Collins’ gaze. She offered a soft smile and gently shook her head, having already discerned precisely what was transpiring in her husband’s mind. She had been married to the man for well over a millennium now; it would have been peculiar if she could not understand him, at least to a meaningful extent.
