MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1015: Biological Reaction
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
As Klaus delivered his words, the entire group paid close attention. Though his exact level of strength remained unknown, his formidable might was apparent to all. Aaaninja still vividly recalled how Klaus and Amara withstood the devastation of the Acarnis Galaxy using only their physical forms, utterly unfazed; that incredible accomplishment alone revealed the staggeringly immense power they commanded.
"I have nothing to say but thank you for the great show. I truly enjoyed every moment of it, and if there will be another spar or battle between you all, I will certainly be present," he paused for a moment before speaking again, "although I doubt that will be happening anytime soon. Although I would love to share a few gifts, you all are already far too strong for your age to need anything from me," he sighed as he shook his head.
No sooner had Klaus concluded than Rain, Zachary, Riven, and the others moved toward him, grins lighting their faces. Despite their brief acquaintance of just a handful of days, this didn't deter them from seeking bonds with the extraordinarily mighty individual whose boundaries no one could truly gauge.
Altheria faced Vega as she remarked, "You know you can tell us how strong your parents are, right?" she noted, her curiosity too intense to ignore. Upon hearing her, every ear perked up immediately, for such knowledge was irresistible to anyone there.
Vega let out a sigh before responding, "I personally don’t know. I’m too weak to properly understand," she hesitated, her gaze drifting to Anthony as she went on, "Anthony might have a better idea though," she mentioned steadily.
As soon as those words escaped her, multiple gazes locked onto Anthony, who sat quietly. He blinked in surprise, puzzled why Vega hadn't spared him from the spotlight. Not even he grasped Klaus's full potency. Though he'd once called forth his Primordial Beast in combat against him before Vega’s birthday, Klaus surely hadn't unleashed everything.
"How could I possibly know when their daughter, their only child at that, doesn’t even know?" Anthony responded plainly, shrugging with composed nonchalance.
Lucian, Aaaninja, and the others could only exhale in frustration, frustrated at yielding no valuable insights.
’Tsk, so many overpowered people present and I can’t even copy any of them,’ Lucian mused inwardly, feeling a touch downcast. Being the offspring of Klaus and Amara, Vega was destined to harbor remarkable talents and techniques, yet even hers eluded his copying. Klaus, Anthony, Aaaninja, Amara, Aura Nova, and Kingsley all lay utterly beyond reach.
While he could mimic Veronica, Altheria, Zachary, Riven, and others, Lucian felt no inclination to do so. His thresholds stood simply too elevated right now.
Another sigh escaped him, lamenting the ongoing setback he endured.
[Host, there is no need to be sad. After what I am doing, Anthony and everyone else could be considered trash]
Lucian's system resonated in his thoughts, swiftly quelling the somber notions he'd been harboring. Skepticism crossed his mind; pairing Anthony with trash in one phrase? Did the system assume his smarts had plummeted following the prior repercussion?
Sensing Lucian's inner doubt, the system promptly countered.
[Okay, I might have gone a bit overboard with the boasting]
Should the system possess a tangible body, it would likely be clearing its throat in unease just then. Its intent had merely been to uplift Lucian's spirits, yet now it found itself in an awkward spot.
’Explain,’ Lucian shot back, though the system's claims rang somewhat improbable, he trusted it wouldn't voice them without solid backing.
[I can’t say much at the moment, but... due to the LORDTEE’S PERSONIFICATION ability that you used, I was able to see through some things. Although I can’t exactly say what I saw, because at the moment I am still trying to decipher them. It could take a couple of months, but I am confident that when I am done, whatever advantage your rival, Aaaninja, currently has over you will be completely gone]
The system elaborated with enthusiasm.
Lucian halted briefly, and in the following instant, a spark of excitement gleamed in his eyes. Even without details on the revelations, he felt assured that upon the system's completion of analysis, his strength would surge notably. A grin formed on his face, knowing the recent divide with Aaaninja, forged mere minutes prior, would vanish shortly.
All in just a few months.
Regardless of Aaaninja's newfound gain, or the secrets and might the youth held, Lucian placed faith in the system. Aaaninja wielded the River Of Time; he, Lucian, possessed the system.
’I knew you would come through, system,’ Lucian commended boldly, as though his trust had never wavered.
[ ᕙ (° ~͜ʖ~ °) ᕗ ]
The system responded, reveling in its dominance and Lucian's acclaim.
’A couple of months,’ Lucian pondered as he reclined in his chair. Who wouldn't rejoice in such circumstances? No effort required on his part; merely unwind for several months, and abruptly, his fighting prowess would explode upward.
’If Anthony, Aaaninja, and Aura knew, they would definitely be jealous,’ he reflected with a smirk.
"What is making you smile so much?" Anthony’s voice abruptly pierced the reverie Lucian had been lost in.
Lucian coughed, taken aback. "Nothing, nothing," he answered hastily.
Anthony raised an eyebrow before pressing, "Then why are you coughing so awkwardly?" He recognized Lucian was surely plotting something shady; that conceited, faintly wicked grin was familiar.
"I’m a living being, coughing is simply a biological reaction," Lucian retorted promptly.
Aaaninja glanced briefly at Lucian and Anthony before averting his eyes once more. Anthony fixed his stare on Lucian for several beats before shaking his head, well aware the fellow wouldn't divulge the truth.
