MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1013: Insanity
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
"Shall we start the final showdown?" Klaus inquired calmly, his dark eyes turning to the Older Generation without glancing at the Younger one.
Everyone nodded in unison; indeed, there was no point in prolonging or squandering further moments.
Rain watched with a heavy heart. He realized Aura Nova was up next. She had barely triumphed over Sky Kingsley in her initial clash; afterward, defeat had followed in every encounter up to this point. Rain trusted Aura Nova’s innate talent and combat skills deeply, which prompted him to agree swiftly when she asked to accompany him to the Galactical gathering.
He had believed she would overpower all opponents effortlessly, yet it appeared his perspective was too narrow, and these youngsters were essentially bending the rules. He couldn’t suppress a sigh, yearning for Aura Nova to claim at least this victory, even though he recognized how absurd that desire truly was; still, a sliver of optimism lingered in him.
Though he didn’t grasp Aura Nova’s Omniedit power completely, surely one of her Commands could secure the win, much like the one she employed against Sky Kingsley.
’If she activates that, victory is certain,’ Rain reassured himself inwardly. He had learned of Aura Nova’s vulnerability—a delay between activating her ability and its emergence. Rain hoped Aaaninja’s arrogance would blind him to that flaw; he longed for Aaaninja’s recent power surge to inflate his ego excessively.
Should anyone overhear Rain’s inner musings, shock would be absent. He lacked familiarity with Aaaninja; why concern himself? Aura Nova was his daughter; it was natural to root for and pray your offspring prevails, no matter how daunting the challenges appeared.
Yet simultaneously, a grin spread across his face, knowing that once this duel concluded, Aura Nova would retreat into intense isolation for training, and upon her return... the straightforward triumphs others had gained against her would vanish forever.
Mitchelle just waved cheerfully at Anthony, beaming with immense pride for her extraordinarily powerful son, whose enigmatic skills left her baffled with each bout. Meanwhile, Michael wore a broad smirk, anticipating the clash with Klaus that awaited after this match.
Klaus faced Aura Nova and Aaaninja, declaring, "No more need for the heads display; you two can head down and await my cue."
Aura Nova and Aaaninja nodded curtly and disappeared from their spots. Aaaninja couldn’t resist throwing a final look at Klaus; despite ascending to the Apexus Mana Rank, he intuitively sensed zero hope against this formidable figure.
He materialized in a barren desert setting, positioned several meters from Aura Nova, eyes alert, demeanor composed, devoid of any haughtiness or overconfidence Rain had hoped his power boost would instill.
Aura Nova held her poised, assured smile; her string of losses against nearly all foes failed to dent her spirit. She would reclaim her dominance in due time.
"Begin," Klaus’s command sliced through the atmosphere as he signaled the start.
Aura Nova wasted no time; no point in clashing with weapons or lesser Commands. She leaped directly to her supreme Command.
Omniedit: Command: Root Access Mode.
The phrase escaped her mouth smoothly, a spark of astonishment in her eyes since she anticipated Aaaninja interrupting the activation, akin to Lucian’s interference, but Aaaninja remained passive... exactly as Rain had hoped.
’Perfect, that’s my daughter,’ he cheered silently as a broad grin lit up his features. However, in the instant that followed, the joy faded, replaced by stunned confusion on his expression. He wasn’t alone; Aura Nova froze in total disbelief too.
Why?
Because her Omniedit had utterly failed to activate.
Similar to Kingsley’s attempt to nullify Aura Nova’s Omniedit via the Law Defiance Field, which wiped out all energies including Mana, Aaaninja executed a comparable yet distinct countermeasure.
Aura Nova’s Omniedit depended greatly on Mana, marking its sole Achilles’ heel. Right then, Aaaninja effortlessly dominated every trace of Mana in the Separate Plane. Unlike Lucian and Kingsley’s erasure, he preserved it; through his Apexus Mana Rank breakthrough and the insights flooding his mind from linking to the River Of Time to rescue Lucian, Aaaninja’s Mana mastery now approached what could only be described as... .
Aura Nova sensed her Mana in her core; she urged it to flow out, attempted to command it, yet nothing worked. Her own Mana rebelled upon exiting her core. Unlike escaping Kingsley’s Law Defiance Field by teleporting away, she knew evasion was futile now. Every Mana particle heeded solely Aaaninja in this instant.
Aaaninja advanced with serene detachment, his strength reaching a level comprehensible only to Klaus, Amara, and Anthony. He had evolved into a superior entity, and without action from Aura Nova, Lucian, and Kingsley, they’d lag far behind.
Aaaninja halted a meter from Aura Nova, their gazes locking. Hers stayed resolute, brimming with unyielding confidence, undeterred by her current hopelessness. Her look promised that their next confrontation would spell defeat for him.
Aaaninja stayed silent; his hand quivered slightly, and suddenly Aura Nova’s head was severed effortlessly at a velocity she couldn’t track, unaware even of his sword being unsheathed.
Thus, Aura Nova fell to decapitation, bringing the friendly spars among these extraordinary beings to an end.
