MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1009: Fastest Victory

Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Anthony gazed calmly from the clouds as Aura Nova's corpse and severed head crashed to the ground, his thoughts drifting to the few times he had unleashed his full power and his detached curiosity about rivals in higher galaxies. He vanished in a blur, leaving Klaus to announce his unchallenged victory. Mana soon formed a cocoon around her remains, resurrecting Aura Nova, who silently grappled with the sting of defeat against titans like Anthony and Lucian, her resolve hardening to surpass them without fanfare. She rejoined the group, declining Veronica's sympathetic hug, as Vega pragmatically assessed her slim chances against Anthony despite future growth.

Before Aura Nova had the opportunity to respond, Altheria interrupted sharply, "So much for women supporting women," clicking her tongue while her voice dripped with subtle sarcasm and intentional taunting.

Vega directed her gaze at Altheria, responding with just a smile and a silent shake of her head. Battle outcomes left no room for feminism; winners and losers stood alone, their results resounding far beyond any philosophy.

Aura Nova turned her eyes to Vega, their sky-blue stare locking onto Vega’s purple ones in quiet intensity, a silent rapport flowing between them. Following a short pause for thought, Aura Nova gave a simple nod without speaking, though those who knew her well would see it as mere polite recognition, far from endorsing or yielding to Vega’s prior words.

Even so, Aura Nova discovered a touch of humor in the scene, stirring memories of the interplay among Aaaninja, Anthony, and Lucian.

Three years back, Aaaninja fell to Anthony and had clung stubbornly to his desire for a rematch ever since, but Lucian constantly pointed out the seeming pointlessness, as if he perceived truths hidden from the rest.

In this present setup, Aura Nova occupied Aaaninja’s spot, with Vega stepping into Lucian’s shoes, warning her that no matter how much she advanced through future practice, the end result would stay the same.

Aura Nova grinned inwardly at the comparison, almost bursting into laughter over the twist of fate, yet she held back and merely shook her head. Right now, she needed two things above all: first, to wrap up her duel against Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos, and second, to rush back to the Dusk Planet without delay to start her isolated cultivation right away, since endless ideas, insights, and paths to growth blazed fiercely in her thoughts.

'I really hope we finish this Divinora Angel Galaxy mess soon,' she mused silently, knowing any extra holdup would surely disrupt her practice. What good was entering seclusion if some foe’s assault or sudden chaos dragged her out too early, short of her goals.

"Ready for the next fight?" Klaus’s voice boomed through the heavens, instantly drawing all eyes with its commanding power.

Once nods came from the group, he flicked his fingers as before, summoning the screen with five digits that danced and swirled wildly in the air.

Though unspoken, all sensed the sparring event neared its end, having seen most pairings clash, with just a handful of expected bouts left.

At last, the figures halted, revealing two clear numbers: Three Versus Five.

Lucian Darkheart Versus Kingsley Sky.

Lucian’s eyes flicked to Kingsley, who sat with his usual serene poise and neutral face. Moments later, they both blinked out of sight, plummeting to the arena beneath.

They touched down smoothly, positioned several meters from each other. No greetings passed between them; Kingsley seldom talked during his matches, preferring quiet over chatter, unlike Lucian who sometimes engaged. So they waited there, at ease and unaffected, as if the tension meant nothing.

Klaus’s announcement rolled across the sky again, kicking off the duel officially. Without pause, Kingsley unleashed his Law Defiance Field, nullifying all energy types in a wide area surrounding him.

Yet it proved useless, as right then came the clear noise of a katana sliding back into its scabbard from behind. Shock widened Kingsley’s eyes, baffled by the source at his back. His golden stare dropped to spot fiery tracks burned into the ground, clearly from a fire-enhanced speed art.

That insight hit just as his head sliced free from his body, with Lucian sealing the fight in under a second from start, claiming the quickest win so far in the whole event.

Lucian Darkheart eyed Kingsley’s fallen form for a moment before pivoting away, his face unchanging. He’d crushed the opponent with cold precision because Kingsley posed a real threat. With mastery over Martial Rhythm, Lucian couldn’t risk giving him space to deploy it, lest it swing the fight the wrong way.

Though Kingsley’s Law Defiance Field stood strong against mana, intents, and other energies, Lucian’s special gift let him wield the four basic elements without drawing on outside power to trigger them. That’s exactly what enabled his rapid and total victory.

"Lucian Darkheart takes the win," Klaus declared in a nearly disinterested drawl, having expected a grand show instead of Lucian’s sudden strike, though he couldn’t really protest.

Lucian disappeared from his spot and rematerialized among the watchers. He settled into his chair with his typical impassive look and steady calm.

Anthony, next to him, gave an impressed whistle and commented, "That has to be the fastest fight in history."

Lucian Darkheart let out a sigh and shook his head, knowing full well Anthony was ribbing him, and chose not to reply at all.

Kingsley’s body jerked briefly like a glitch in the world, then faded and reformed whole as he revived untouched. Like Lucian, he vanished from the field and popped back in his seat. He stayed mute, shutting his eyes to ponder, as if breaking down exactly what happened.

As the group watched his eyes close, nobody teased his quick defeat. Instead, focus returned to the display, where a palpable thrill hung thick in the air, everyone already guessing the upcoming pair.

The panel lit up with two figures: One Versus Two.

Anthony and Aaaninja didn’t glance each other’s way. They just evaporated from their spots and landed on the field below. If this round would end as abruptly as their clash three years prior, no one could say.

Both had powered up considerably since that time, but the big doubt lingered: could Aaaninja, armed with his fresh strength and skills, actually topple the figure called Null Anthony.

Klaus’s call ripped through the clouds like thunder, and even he couldn’t hide the thrill and eagerness in his voice as the eagerly awaited showdown at last began.
