MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1001: Long Lost Cousin
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
"But I agree, it is time we started the next round of the spar," Anthony said once more, his eyes shifting back to Klaus right after he wrapped up his words to Aaaninja.
Upon catching Anthony's statement, Klaus just shook his head, a grin of amusement playing on his lips, obviously delighted by the younger folks' eagerness. Amara stayed quiet, merely present to observe and savor the ongoing show. She had no tasks at hand, since her endless quests for aids to awaken Vega's bloodline were history, leaving behind no more interstellar journeys, no clashes with mighty Empires, and no conflicts with frantic Civilizations hunting for a fix that could aid her child.
At present... she served as a homemaker mom... what a funny and bizarre twist.
Truth be told, she and Klaus acted as homebound guardians... or more precisely, homebound supreme guardians. Opportunities to relish spectacles like this didn't come often, featuring clashes between beings of such frightening promise unleashed without restraint.
"Hmmm... every clash so far has been pure spectacle," Veronica chimed in with a radiant grin, "I'm dying to know who's up next in the fight, the wait is killing me," her tone brimming with clear thrill and eagerness.
"No point overthinking it, the upcoming bout will pit Null Anthony against Aura Nova," Vega announced steadily from nearby, her violet gaze moving to Aura Nova, who rested next to her in serene quiet.
Aura Nova offered no words, merely a subtle smile in response, since she had reached that unavoidable truth well before Vega voiced it.
"Huh? What makes you so sure?" Veronica inquired with interest, fixing her eyes on Vega, evidently captivated by the confidence.
Yet prior to Vega's answer, Altheria interjected, "Isn't it clear as day?" She posed the question with a short halt, purely for effect, "Lucian and Aaaninja won't battle right away, having wrapped up their own duels, so the following fight has to involve Null Anthony, Aura Nova, and Sky Kingsley," she clarified smoothly, one leg draped gracefully atop the other, "however, Aura Nova and Sky Kingsley already dueled in the initial bout, thus, this one must solely feature Null Anthony and Aura Nova."
Veronica paused briefly to absorb the reasoning, then gave a nod of comprehension, her thrill surging higher, considering how rare it was to behold combats of this scale without fears of peril, ruin, or accidental fallout.
Aura Nova kept her peace, her azure eyes glowing with eager resolve and subtle resolve. Even though it seemed set that she'd probably fall to Anthony, that failed to erode her assurance or desire to engage, merely because Anthony stood as the mightiest there didn't deter her from their duel.
She yearned to see Anthony's abilities up close, though she'd glimpsed his strength in fights against Sky Kingsley and Lucian Darkheart, observing from a distance and facing it directly formed entirely distinct experiences.
Her azure gaze drifted to where Anthony stood, yet he didn't return the look, absorbed instead in talk with Lucian Darkheart and Aaaninja, the three chatting about topics they insisted "women" couldn't grasp, their faces easy and laid-back.
"I've often pondered if you're some distant kin or relative of Anthony's," Vega couldn't resist questioning with curiosity, "considering you share those precise azure eyes," she noted reflectively.
Aura Nova let out a gentle chuckle at the remark, while she'd encountered plenty with blue-tinted irises, hers had always stood apart... singular in an indescribable manner, matched only by Anthony's identical hue and luster, along with Mitchelle, from whom Anthony gained those eyes.
"Were that the case, I'd likely boast greater strength than now, since Anthony's merely twenty and already wields such might," Aura Nova answered with a light head shake, following that reasoning, as his older sibling, she ought to surpass him in power.
"That holds water," Altheria responded evenly, her sight turning to Michael, Mitchelle, and Collins, who lounged with neutral looks. Her mind raced with questions on the Null clan's strength and heritage that spawned such prodigious figures.
'Who might their original progenitor have been,' she mused inwardly, given that clans of such dominance typically stemmed from one root, be it a formidable founder man or woman, with descendants claiming mere portions of that colossal inheritance.
Altheria's current musing was one Anthony had never considered, as tales of some obscure progenitor held zero interest for him. Solely vast, age-old lineages with endless offshoots bothered with such lore, not the Null clan, whose might thrived squarely in the now among its mere five members.
Klaus clicked his fingers, summoning the holographic display as always, pulling all eyes toward it. Though they anticipated the next combatants, they stuck to tradition, letting the screen do its job.
Digits from one through five materialized and whirled swiftly, lacking any thrill or mystery this round, since the result was foreseen, and true to form, it halted on a pair of figures.
One against Four.
Anthony's azure eyes at last met Aura Nova's, subtle smiles gracing their features, and with a quick flash, they disappeared from their spots to materialize on the barren field beneath. Without delay, Klaus snapped again, forging a fresh domain on the spot, as Aaaninja and Lucian's prior arena lay in total devastation.
"Looks like you've achieved what you came for at this gathering," Anthony remarked steadily, positioned several paces from Aura Nova, his stance loose and assured.
Aura Nova flashed a slight smirk, her combat fervor building noticeably and boldly, yes, her aim in attending the Galactical assembly was to encounter Anthony, Aaaninja, and Lucian, and presently, Anthony, her key target, faced her directly.
"Hoooo... I figured you might extend the same proposal to me as you did Kingsley, and school me like you did Lucian," she teased mildly, locking eyes on him with steady intensity.
"Should you desire my guidance, just request it, and I'll naturally refuse," Anthony shot back in playful fashion, his demeanor steady yet assured.
"Begin," Klaus's command sliced through their banter smoothly, as if their chit-chat held no interest, he merely sought to see the clash of supreme skills and earth-rending force.
As Klaus's order resounded in the domain, Aura Nova surged forward instantly, seeing no cause for postponement, she bridged the gap to Anthony in a mere instant, her advance swift and resolute.
