Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy Chapter 1586 - 102: Abyss (First Update)

As conversation flowed, the surroundings abruptly plunged into darkness, eclipsing the sky and the twin moons.
What was already a dim sky, obscured by the colossal canyon walls, now felt like the dead of night.
Leaves that resembled sharp blades now seemed broad and verdant.
"Silence," Alva commanded.
Instantly, the team fell into a hush.
Only the soft crunch of footsteps on the dense, tangled undergrowth could be heard.
Alva, mindful that Mu Fan might find the sudden gloom challenging, deliberately slowed his pace. "There are numerous venomous insects and dangerous beasts in this area. Lighting a torch would invite unnecessary danger. We are following a secure path; stay close and do not stray."
Mu Fan responded simply, "I can see perfectly."
Alva let out a soft chuckle; this individual, perceived as a rival, grew increasingly intriguing.
Mu Fan, running alongside them, appeared to have a fiery red glow deep within his pupils, cutting through the oppressive darkness.
He could clearly discern vast swathes of fallen trees within the canyon’s depths.
Particularly in the central area, Mu Fan noted an unusually straight, flat path leading onward.
Enormous footprints marred the ground, as if a stampede of beasts had thundered through, obliterating all in their path.
A heavy silence permeated the air as the team continued their run.
Bloer’s movement remained unceasing, yet he deliberately navigated around specific points, crouching low as he passed them.
Mu Fan couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration for the lithe Wind Clan member, Bloer, whose stealth in the darkness was seemingly innate.
The areas they had just skirted were either precipitous drops or the lairs of… certain cold-blooded predators.
Mu Fan even spotted a python, as thick as a thigh, its head held high in the dense foliage.
Without the Wind Clan members’ guidance, common individuals entering this place would likely meet their demise within twenty meters due to sudden ambushes.
Time slipped by.
Soon, a faint luminescence appeared in the distance.
Contrasted against the canyon’s pitch blackness, the approaching darkness seemed remarkably bright.
Mu Fan checked his chronometer, estimating they had traversed the canyon in approximately thirty minutes at full speed.
"Ahead lies the barren zone; attacks from stone beasts can occur without warning, so remain vigilant."
Alva’s voice cut through the air again, and the entire team simultaneously drew their weapons.
Observing Alva’s wary expression, Mu Fan nodded, unsheathing his blade from his waist, and then…
Alva’s eyes widened in astonishment as he discovered he…
…could not perceive Mu Fan!
He was present, yet an inexplicable illusion of invisibility cloaked him.
The team finally emerged from the canyon, guided safely through by the Wind Clan’s Bloer.
The moonlight spilled before them, and the wind’s song echoed incessantly.
The situation intensified as the group increased their speed, executing a high leap and descending a cliff face.
With a resounding impact upon landing, several White Armor Clan warriors fanned out in a cross formation, their battle axes gleaming menacingly.
Only after they had cleared the canyon did Mu Fan comprehend what Alva had termed the 'barren zone.'
He landed as silently as a nocturnal feline, greeted by an endless expanse of desolate terrain.
Rounded, jutting rocks were scattered about, devoid of even a single blade of grass.
It resembled a forsaken, abandoned wasteland.
The whistling wind amplified its bleakness.
Whoosh!
A shadow shot from the ground, lunging towards a White Armor Clan warrior who had just turned.
Mu Fan was about to intervene when a blur of motion occurred, and Bloer, the slender Wind Clan member, appeared, holding a writhing black worm.
Mu Fan witnessed Bloer’s face break into a smile for the very first time since his appearance.
His usually somber face lit up with evident delight, crinkling with joy.
"A Black Stone Worm, potent enough to poison at least fifty crossbow bolts."
Alva mused with satisfaction, manipulating his fingers with practiced ease.
The worm emitted a shriek, then went limp, before Bloer casually dropped it into the cloth pouch at his waist.
The expert execution clearly indicated this was far from his initial encounter with such a task.
"Arrows tipped with Black Stone Worm ichor can fell a rhinoceros with a mere four shots, yet they prove ineffective against these creatures. The Wind Clan's hunts rely heavily on poisoned arrows derived from Black Stone Worms."
Even Alva spoke with a tone of grudging admiration.
He himself had once been grazed by a Black Stone Worm, resulting in paralysis for more than half a Star Time.
He held a deep envy for the Wind Clan's inherent resistance to poisons.
Following this brief interlude, Bloer’s expression softened, departing from his previously stoic demeanor, his pace quickening with burgeoning excitement.
The detachment traversed the vast wilderness, appearing like a line of ants within the boundless natural world.
Such immense, solitary grandeur could easily overwhelm an ordinary individual, submerging them in the magnificence of nature and their own infinitesimal place within it.
During their passage, they did not have the 'fortune' to encounter another Black Stone Worm.
Finally, after traversing for nearly an hour, the team came to a standstill.
What unfolded before Mu Fan was a grand spectacle.
Black stones spreading like a tidal wave finally reached their end, resembling a mighty river rushing to a cliff edge to form a waterfall.
The "waterfall" gathered from all directions toward a single spot.
It was a giant circular abyss with a diameter of at least three kilometers.
At the center, a continuous whirlwind of black mist eerily spiraled into the sky; most spectacular were the countless stones hovering above, defying gravity.
As if they weren’t stones at all.!
Even from a kilometer away from the abyss, Mu Fan felt his skin prickling instinctively.
His innate intuition warning of the danger ahead.
But Bloer’s running speed abruptly increased.
"Doton, get ready to assist Bloer."
Alva cast towards the front.
Then, in Mu Fan’s view, a muscular man with a bare torso unfastened a rope from his waist and threw it fiercely forward, instantly wrapping Bloer.
Bound by the rope, Bloer suddenly accelerated.
"This is the ultimate secret of our White Armor Clan! Brother Mu, watch closely!"
Three others simultaneously drew out three massive bone-like teeth as tall as themselves and stabbed them heavily into the ground.
Thud!
Another three ropes simultaneously flung from the trio’s hands, looping around the waist of the bare-chested man, securing him.
Then, with a loud shout, the muscular man pulled his arms back with force.
At the same moment, Bloer rushed towards the unfathomable abyss, crouched, and leaped heavily!
