Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy Chapter 1491: 7: Raise My Shadow Banner

~5 minute read · 1,321 words

A towering man, nearing two meters in height with a robust frame, stood within a command room gleaming with crystal. His stern gaze was locked onto the faraway, threatening Blade Warship.

He was outfitted in resplendent green armor, embellished with numerous dazzling gems, and a prominent triangular emerald was fixed upon his chest.

This individual's eyes radiated neither warmth nor concern.

“Ambrose is no more. The eldest son of my Divine Domain Griffin family, slain by mere natives of this universe.”

“Such an ignominious event!”

“The queen observes us… she has perceived that familiar [ally] presence.”

“To dare defy my Divine Domain, is it.”

The man, garbed in green armor and projecting an aura as steadfast as a mountain, allowed a frigid smile to grace his lips.

“We tread the path laid out by the great queen, aiming to consume this world.”

“First, we shall greet our… long-acquainted associates.”

This colossal triangular vessel, rivaling the Federation’s Ninth Tier battleship in scale, measures over 3000 meters in length. Yet, its immense size and muted dark green coloration render it remarkably unobtrusive.

This is due to the surrounding constellation of warships belonging to the Griffin family, blanketing the celestial expanse.

On the unseen facade of this mechanical celestial body, a vast expanse of brownish, biological-like matter is rapidly extending into the vacuum.

This spreading brown area consists of an unadorned surface, with substantial metal conduits expelling a crimson fluid at regular intervals.

These blood-like effusions flow onto the brown expanse, causing its expansion rate to accelerate dramatically.

Should Mu Fan and White Hair bear witness, they would instantly recognize this as the fungal expanse of the Zeg Clan!

This manufactured planet has dedicated sectors specifically for Zeg propagation and existence.

As the fungal carpet continues its relentless spread, myriad writhing vermin converge with startling suddenness.

Coated in a viscous slime, akin to cockroaches traversing amniotic fluid, they voraciously feast upon the dense fungal growth, steadily increasing in mass until they transform into colossal insects exceeding five meters in diameter, only to explosively rupture.

The outline of a blood-formed aperture materializes.

With each bursting behemoth insect, these apertures begin to manifest in profusion, coalescing into a monumental structure resemblant of a conduit.

A spiraling nebula of stars faintly churns at the entrance of the obsidian tunnel.

A gargantuan, jellyfish-like lord, magnified to an immense scale, drifts placidly around this aperture.

As its pulsating tendrils make contact with the sanguinary passage, its colossal form begins to diminish, as though its lifeblood is being violently siphoned.

Concurrently, the vortex at the tunnel’s mouth accelerates its rotation.

As the darkness intensifies, the vortex abruptly surges outward!

In an instant, a flattened corruptor, fifty meters in diameter, erupts into view.

Its numerous sickly yellow-green compound eyes fix their gaze forward simultaneously.

The viscous goo clinging to its form rapidly desiccates and solidifies, hardening into jagged armored protrusions, deepening in hue.

This is but a single entity emerging from one such cavern.

If one were to survey the entirety of the mechanical star body, hundreds of corruptors would be seen swarming forth!

Furthermore, this represents merely the initial wave.

Mu Fan’s hypothesis proved accurate; the defensive perimeter of Planet 131, manned by the Glorfen family, served as the ultimate catalyst.

The advent of the Forest Domain’s technology instantly shattered the precariously maintained equilibrium.

Innumerable emerald crystal shards were marshaled, channeling energy into the crystal array, forcibly enlarging the diameter of the Insect Clan’s conduits.

Consequently, the human defense line was caught entirely unawares.

“What is that sighted over there?”

A soldier aboard a Revolution Army escort vessel, tasked with safeguarding a merchant convoy, suddenly froze in disbelief.

Alarms shrieked relentlessly within the warship as the overwhelming torrent of incoming warships became an undeniable reality before their very eyes.

“Level One Alert!”

“A colossal fleet detected within the sector’s interior; good heavens… there’s even a planetary fortress present; we are under invasion… quickly, establish contact with command!”

Two unassuming escort ships rapidly veered towards the nearest military installation.

The magnitude of this impending engagement far surpassed their capacity to engage or intervene.

At this precise moment, the seemingly endless stream of Griffin family warships unfurled into a vast, flat formation.

Over a thousand warships positioned themselves within an enormous net-like construct suspended in space.

“Dead Line Cannon, thousandfold amplification.”

The immense triangular vessel, exceeding 3000 meters in length, with the green-armored individual at its command, observed the distant, decelerating Dawn Battleship with an impassive demeanor.

Instantly, a singular point of verdant light materialized from the prow of each of the thousand triangular vessels, resembling a meticulously arranged collection of emerald gems.

In the subsequent second, a blinding beam of light lanced forth from this unified formation.

“[Warning: Ultra-high energy reaction detected.]”

A piercing red alarm reverberated.

The Dawn Battleship, under Black’s strategic direction, began to violently oscillate and repeatedly alter its course.

A thousand beams of verdant light converged, instantly forming a colossal green beam, more than twenty meters in diameter, that hurtled towards the Dawn Battleship.

The energy shield enveloping the warship's exterior had scarcely materialized before it was largely annihilated.

Fortunately, the hull remained untouched, a testament to Black’s adept evasive maneuvers.

Nevertheless, the warship was simultaneously caught in the gravitational pull generated by the concentrated beams' destructive force, being flung violently sideways.

Boom!

Mu Fan instinctively braced himself against the wall with his left hand.

From the planetary fortress's sudden appearance to the ship's attack, a mere thirty seconds had elapsed.

The Forest Domain fleet immediately demonstrated unbridled aggression.

This devastating Dead Line Cannon assault finally brought the Dawn Battleship into the radar's view of two retreating escort ships from the Revolution Army.

"Their target isn't us, nor is the primary objective the merchant fleet or the planet. Incredibly, it's that warship."

"Within the Revolution Army's territory! That… target identification is successful?" The warship operator stared, stunned by the successful database match. As his gaze then fell upon the detailed information displayed, an icy chill permeated his being.

It's that individual's warship!

Blast it all, what in the galaxy is occurring in this once-abandoned sector!

"Quickly, dispatch a report to General Headquarters. The 27998th Patrol Fleet, 7th Squad, has detected the Dawn Battleship."

"Currently unable to confirm the warship's complement, uncertain regarding… oh, they've initiated a counteroffensive. Shadow Island's principal vessel has officially engaged…"

On the pristine deck of the Dawn Battleship, colossal crossbows materialized abruptly.

Bolts of orange energy rapidly materialized along the drawn bowstrings.

The bowstrings instantly extended to their utmost limit.

Six enormous energy bolts sliced through the dark expanse of the night sky.

Confronted by over a thousand newly emerged Forest Domain warships, a lone vessel defiantly commenced the engagement.

"I had envisioned numerous adversaries, but I never anticipated encountering you…"

Mu Fan's sharp gaze, piercing through the vast porthole, surveyed the cosmos, his Ghost Energy forcefully calming his mind.

His voice, at this moment, was imbued with barely suppressed emotion.

"I could subdue you then, and now… I still possess that capability."

He mused softly, the words echoing with earth-shattering intensity.

His short white hair couldn't conceal the burgeoning combat spirit ascending towards the heavens!

"Black!"

"Acknowledged."

"Disable the camouflage, unfurl my Shadow banner."

Each word delivered with deliberation, Mu Fan's impassive gaze swept towards the distant conflict.

"From this moment forth, I shall completely shatter the path towards Winter Tree Star!"

"Agasura, join me— in battle!!"

In response to that cold and commanding declaration.

Within the warship's central hangar, a flash of blood-red light streaked through the darkness. The black mecha, shrouded in a mysterious and serene aura, ominously raised its head.

It resonated like the thrumming heartbeat of a colossal entity within the hangar.

"Understood."
