Angelina confronts Peter, revealing she has deduced he is Spider-Man. Despite Peter's attempts to deny it, Angelina presents irrefutable evidence. Peter confesses his identity to Angelina, Brian, and Gwen. He then learns from Gwen that his parents' research played a role in Dr. Connors' transformation into the Lizard. Peter decides to take responsibility and asks for their help.

Angelina didn’t hesitate. "Of course. What do we need to do?"

Peter was cornered in a dark section of the sewers—Dr. Connors’ hideout. The documents on the walls and the videos on the computer screen revealed the professor’s twisted, evil plan.

"The professor has been consumed by power. He wants to fulfill his dream of creating a human race without flaws. He’s going to use Oscorp’s Ganali Device to launch the lizard serum across the city, turning everyone into monsters like him," Peter said, hardly able to believe his own eyes.

Brian said. "Oh, hell no. I am not turning into an ugly lizard."

Peter agreed completely. "That’s why we have to stop him. The professor’s strength is insane, and his regenerative abilities are off the charts. Only an antidote can stop him. Gwen, can you make the serum?"

Gwen nodded. "Of course. I used to help the professor make serums all the time."

"Great," Peter said. "I need you to go to Oscorp and retrieve the cross-species file—it’s a blue serum. If we can release that through the Ganali Device first, the professor and everyone infected will return to normal."

Angelina was decisive. "Got it. We’re going right now."

"The doctor is heading for the tower too," Peter warned. "Be careful!"

"Worry about yourself," Angelina shot back confidently.

She hung up, and the helicopter veered toward Manhattan.

...

The night was pitch black as the helicopter touched down on the rooftop landing pad of Oscorp Tower. The trio hurried out, with Gwen leading the way and a bodyguard providing cover with a drawn handgun.

"The elevator is this way!"

They rushed into the elevator and headed for Dr. Connors’ lab. Gwen swiped her card with practiced ease, sat down at the console, and began typing away. She quickly located the blue serum Peter had mentioned.

"Got it! Antidote is being synthesized... it’ll take about fifteen minutes!"

"So we just wait?" Brian didn’t like being idle.

"No," Angelina said, pointing toward the outer rooms. "There are still plenty of employees in this building. We need to evacuate them."

"On it!" Gwen replied, entering the internal emergency evacuation codes.

A split second later, a piercing alarm echoed throughout the tower. The Oscorp staff, well-trained in fire safety, immediately dropped what they were doing and began an orderly evacuation.

By the time the staff had cleared out ten minutes later, there were only three minutes left for the serum to finish.

In the empty laboratory, Gwen pointed to a cylindrical device on a table. "That’s the Ganali Device."

"We should hide it," Angelina said. "We can’t let the Lizard find it."

"Right!" Gwen nodded, climbing onto the table to help move the device.

"Let me," Brian said, stepping up to help Gwen lift the machine and stash it inside a storage locker.

Suddenly, a massive crash erupted from below, sounding like something had smashed right through a wall.

Brian’s brow furrowed. "The Lizard is here. The antidote isn’t ready yet!"

"We need to hide," Angelina said. "If he can’t find the device, he’ll look on other floors. We’ll use the distraction to get to the roof and launch the antidote."

"Hold on," Gwen said, standing on a lab bench and aiming a flamethrower at the fire alarm. A burst of fire activated the sensors, and the building’s fire safety doors slammed shut.

"It might not do much, but it’ll buy us a little time."

"Nice. You’re smart!" Brian said with a grin.

"Okay, get down!"

The three of them scrambled to find hiding spots in the lab. Before long, the sound of heavy breathing and rhythmic, heavy footsteps approached.

The Lizard’s claws tore through the metal safety doors like they were paper. He stomped into the laboratory.

Everyone held their breath, not daring to make a sound. The Lizard circled the room but couldn’t find the Ganali Device. Just when they thought he might leave, he caught the bodyguard’s scent.

With a swift motion, his sharp claws ripped through the metal storage locker. The bodyguard immediately raised his gun and fired at the Lizard’s eyes.

The bullets struck home, and the Lizard roared in fury, clutching his eye. But with his other hand, he lashed out, tearing the bodyguard to shreds in an instant.

As the Lizard let go and looked down, he spotted the device tucked in the corner. He snatched the Ganali, cast one last glance around the room, and stomped out.

Afraid he might double back, the trio stayed hidden. It wasn’t until the synthesizer let out a chime signaling the antidote was complete that they finally emerged.

Gwen cast a glance at the bodyguard’s remains before turning away in horror. As the daughter of a police captain, she was braver than most, but the sight of a mangled corpse still rattled her.

Brian stepped forward and gently held her arm, offering silent comfort. Angelina grabbed the serum and immediately called Peter.

"Peter, where are you?"

"I’m on my way. Three blocks from Oscorp. How are you guys?"

"We have the antidote, but the Lizard stole the Ganali Device."

"What! Are you guys hurt?"

"We’re fine, but a bodyguard didn’t make it."

"My God... stay in the building and wait for me. I’m almost there!"

...

Shortly after the call, a dark shadow appeared against the glass of the laboratory window.

Peter, in his red-and-blue suit, crashed through the glass and tumbled into the lab.

"Here!" Angelina tossed the serum to him.

"Thanks! I’m heading to the roof to release it. Stay here and don’t move!" Peter caught it perfectly and leaped back out the window, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

The lab fell silent for a moment. Brian, losing his patience, suggested, "How about we head to the roof too?"

"What? Are you crazy? That thing will tear you apart!" Gwen looked at him in disbelief.

"Relax. We’ll stay by the stairwell and just watch. And besides, we might actually be able to help Peter if things get hairy!"

Brian walked over to the bodyguard’s body and picked up the fallen handgun. His logic seemed sound, but Gwen still felt it was too risky. She turned to Angelina for help. "What do you think?"

"Let’s go," Angelina said without a second thought, heading for the exit.

"Oh, for God’s sake!" Gwen muttered, rubbing her temples.

"Come on, I’ll protect you," Brian said excitedly, nudging Gwen along.

...

On the rooftop!

The Lizard had already activated the Ganali Device. In two minutes, the green serum would be launched into the sky, blanketing the city in a fine mist. Millions of New Yorkers would be infected. Many would be cured of their ailments, but at the cost of becoming green monsters.

Dr. Connors didn’t care. He only wanted to fulfill his dream of perfecting the human race. Whether people wanted it or not wasn’t his concern.

Finally, Peter arrived on the terrace.

"Professor, wake up! This isn’t you!"

The Lizard raised his arms and laughed. "This is me. Me at my peak. My arm is back, my eyes are clear, my speed and strength are beyond anything I’ve ever felt!"

"It’s an illusion! The formula I gave you is flawed. Everyone will turn into lizards!"

"Hah! Why should humanity settle for fragile, broken shells when they can have perfection? You shouldn’t be stopping me!"

The serum had completely taken hold of Connors’ mind. He was no longer the rational man he once was. Seeing that words were useless, Peter dropped into a combat stance. "Professor, stop. I don’t want to hurt you!"

"Hah. If you think you can, then try!"

With a roar, the Lizard lunged with his claws. Peter used his enhanced reflexes to dodge, weaving around the massive beast. From their previous fight, he knew he couldn’t win in a straight-up brawl. He had to use his webbing to restrain the professor and find an opening to swap the serums.

It was a good plan, but the Lizard was as fast as he was huge. Within thirty seconds, Peter made a mistake, and the Lizard’s tail whipped around, constricting his neck. He struggled frantically, but it was useless.

The Lizard seized Peter’s hands and crushed the web-shooters on his wrists. Without them, Spider-Man’s combat effectiveness was crippled.

Watching from the stairwell, the trio saw it all.

"Damn! Peter’s getting crushed!" Brian whispered with a frown.

"What do we do?" Gwen asked anxiously. Though she loved Brian, she didn’t want to see a classmate get mangled to death. If they could survive this, their high school lives would be much more interesting. She didn’t want the adventure to end here.

Brian gripped the gun, then looked at his sister with a serious gaze. "Your call. I’ll follow your lead this time."

Angelina let out a cold, mocking snort. Brian was being a coward—putting the burden of such a heavy choice on her. No matter what she chose, the consequences would be severe. He was truly her brother.

Looking at the choking Peter, Angelina felt a struggle within her. A battle between instinct and reason.

What should I do?

The Lizard reached out and ripped off Peter’s mask, said. "Poor Peter. No father, no mother, no uncle... always alone..."

"He’s not alone!"

The Lizard snapped his head around. At the rooftop entrance, three teenagers stood together, looking far younger than their resolve suggested.

"Gwen!"

The Lizard recognized her instantly. He had always been fond of his bright intern and had even written her a university recommendation letter.

"Dr. Connors! Please, let Peter go!" Gwen pleaded.

The Lizard threw Peter aside, sending him crashing into a wall. "Are you friends? Heh. It must be bitter, having such a powerful friend by your side. But don’t worry. In just a moment, you’ll be just as strong as he is."

"Professor, I’m a human. I don’t want to be a lizard. No one does! This experiment failed. Stop now!" Gwen tried to appeal to his reason.

"Gwen, I thought you had talent. But it seems you’re just as ignorant as the rest," The professor said with disappointment. "Humanity crawled from the oceans to the land, changing forms the entire way. My success represents the new direction of evolution."

"Why don’t you understand? Why cling to those broken, fragile shells? Why won’t you embrace perfection?"

"Shut the hell up!" Brian barked. "If everyone turns into a lizard, how am I supposed to pick up girls?"

The professor glared at him, then let out a heavy sigh, as if talking to someone so consumed by shallow desires was a waste of time. These students were nothing—all they could do was talk. In thirty seconds, it wouldn’t matter what they wanted.

"Last chance... are you really doing this?" Brian tightened his fist, whispering to Angelina.

"I don’t know. Do you have a better idea?"

"Nope!" Brian shook his head with a look of resignation. "I guess it’s time to say goodbye to the quiet life."

"What are you two even talking about? I don’t understand a word!" Gwen said, her brow furrowing.

"Gwen..." Brian turned to her, a look of genuine regret on his face. "I’m sorry I lied to you for so long."

Gwen was left completely confused. Brian didn’t explain. His expression shifted, becoming intensely serious.

"Hey, ugly! Come get your medicine!"

The Lizard turned in a fury, only to see a fist growing larger in his vision, striking his face with impossible speed.

A deafening thud echoed across the roof like a thunderclap. The Lizard was sent flying, his massive skull deforming under the force. When it reached its limit, the head exploded into fragments like a shattered watermelon.
