Jason Walter has conquered Xandar and is consolidating his power, collecting Infinity Stones. He tasks Gamora and Yondu with finding the Soul and Reality Stones, respectively, while he meditates on the Power Stone. Meanwhile, Thanos learns of Jason's success and, fearing a rival, sets his sights on the Reality Stone. He confronts the Collector on Knowhere, only for the Reality Stone to be destroyed in an attempt by the Collector's servant, Carina, to seize it. Thanos retrieves the Aether, and Yondu arrives too late to secure it.

With a sharp , the door that had been sealed for one year and three months finally swung open.

Jason stepped out of the room, took a deep breath of fresh air, and slowly exhaled. At this moment, he looked like a vagrant—clothes in tatters, face covered in a thick beard—save for his blue eyes, which remained as sharp and spirited as ever.

"Congratulations master!"

Outside the door, two beautiful women with graceful figures knelt on one knee. They wore silver-white short combat armor that gave them a heroic and formidable air. Their long boots stopped just below the knee, exposing long thighs. Ruby-encrusted longswords hung at their waists, and beautiful blonde hair fell loosely over their shoulders.

Seeing these lovely sights after more than a year of abstinence, Jason couldn’t help but look them up and down. The two beauties appeared to be the same height, and remarkably, they looked almost identical.

"Twins?"

"Yes, Master." The sisters were young, their voices vibrant and full of youth.

"Valkyrie’s doing?" Jason asked with a wry smile.

"You guessed right!" The twins said in unison.

"Not bad, not bad at all," Jason praised. "I smell like a sewer. Take me to the baths. Also, summon Valkyrie and the others."

Three hours later, Jason sat upon the throne in the Great Hall.

He had trimmed his hair, shaved his beard, and donned a magnificent silk robe, transforming back into a dashing, elegant young lord. The twin sisters stood on either side of the throne, hands gripping their swords. After accompanying Jason in the bath, their faces were flushed, their skin even more tender and pink, and their soulful eyes were enough to charm the world.

Noticing the change in the sisters, Valkyrie, kneeling at the base of the steps, flashed a playful, knowing smile.

"I’ve been away for over a year. How are your respective tasks coming along?"

At his words, Valkyrie stood up and spoke clearly. "Master, after more than a year of word spreading, your fame for defeating Ronan’s fleet has reached every corner of the universe. Thanks to you, international trade on Planet Walter is thriving, and the immigrant population has exploded. Unfortunately, however, we haven’t gathered any solid news regarding the Infinity Stones from them."

"That was to be expected." Jason’s expression remained calm, his tone indifferent.

Trying to get information on the Infinity Stones from random space travelers was like looking for a needle in a haystack. 99.99% of people didn’t even know what an Infinity Stone was. If they happened to stumble upon something, it would be a massive surprise; if they found nothing, there was no reason to be discouraged.

Jason asked, "We’ve occupied Planet Walter for over a year. How have the remnants of the Nova Empire reacted?"

"Naturally, they’ve been a nuisance. They send fleets to harass our trade routes every few days, they’ve ambushed our transport convoys, and they even tried a sneak attack to bomb the capital." Valkyrie said. "Eventually, I got tired of those gnats. I sent out a massive fleet to wipe out the Nova remnants one by one and occupied all 183 planets under their jurisdiction."

"Hahaha, well done." Jason nodded in appreciation.

He had anticipated this. Thanks to Valkyrie’s relentless purging of Xandarians, the superpowers of Jason and his subordinates had already reached Level 9. As his reputation grew, he had even recruited a new ally a short while ago.

Once Valkyrie finished her briefing, Yondu stepped into the center, looking ashamed.

"Master! I spent over half a year and finally tracked down the location of the Reality Stone. Years ago, the Asgardians left it with the Collector. But I was one step too late; the Reality Stone had already been seized by Thanos."

Jason glanced toward Gamora.

Yondu continued, "After getting the news, we launched several attacks against Thanos, hoping to reclaim the Stone. Unfortunately, we lacked the strength and the fleet suffered heavy losses."

"It’s fine as long as we know where it is. Being unable to beat Thanos isn’t your fault. Step back," Jason waved him off dismissively. "Alright, who’s next?"

Gamora immediately stepped forward, looking smug as she sought credit. "Master, I found the map recording the location of the Soul Stone."

"Really! Where is the map?"

"I burned it to ashes!"

"..."

"But I memorized the location. It’s on Vormir."

Hearing this, finally Jason smiled. "Excellent. Finally, some good news. Recall all fleet personnel immediately. We depart for Vormir in three days."

At dusk, Valkyrie arranged a grand party to celebrate Jason’s successful emergence from seclusion. In addition to Jason’s inner circle, she invited allied fleet commanders, merchant lords, and famous lone-wolf warriors from across the galaxy... and, of course, the most indispensable guests: the famous noble ladies of the city. Valkyrie knew Jason’s tastes well.

To make the party more lively, she invited tens of thousands of guests, but no single palace in the Royal Court could accommodate so many. Thus, she decided to open the palace’s rear gardens.

Over the past year, Valkyrie had completely renovated the Royal Court according to Jason’s preferences. She remembered that back on Sakaar, Jason had mentioned that the wealthy on Earth lived in manors with private gardens for entertaining. Valkyrie took this to heart, drawing inspiration from gardens on other planets and blending their features to create this massive garden, more than large enough to hold ten thousand people.

When Jason first stepped into the garden, he was truly stunned by the scenery. It was divided into several zones: some had the style of Japanese landscapes, others were like Western lawns, and many featured exotic alien styles Jason had never seen before.

"Making you the Chief Executive of the Court was a truly great idea," Jason said with a smile, standing atop a tower carved from a giant boulder.

"I agree," Valkyrie replied confidently, standing beside him.

"But you still made one small mistake."

"What?" Valkyrie frowned.

"In a place this beautiful, how could you let those crude, unrefined people in? It taints the beauty. Just thinking about their dirty feet trampling the grass makes my heart ache."

Valkyrie explained, "You’ve been gone for over a year. This victory party had to be grand and lively. It’s a chance for these cosmic visitors to see the Master of Planet Walter with their own eyes."

Jason sighed. "Fine. But you must ensure they don’t damage my garden. Those people aren’t exactly saints; I fear they’ll start trouble once they’ve had too much to drink."

Valkyrie said, "Don’t worry, I’ve moved the main fleet forces here. If anyone starts a fight or acts suspicious, they’ll be eliminated immediately."

"Good," Jason nodded.

"Don’t just stand here alone. Let me take you down for a tour. Aside from the ’crude people,’ I’ve invited many noble ladies."

At that, Jason’s eyes lit up.

Whether it was due to Jason’s fearsome reputation or not, the party was lively but peaceful. Even the most world-shaking berserkers and commanders sat obediently in their chairs, drinking and chatting.

Halfway through the party, several soldiers hurried into the venue and approached Jason.

"Master, a large fleet is approaching Planet Walter. Their entry report claims they are... your allies."

Jason set down his wine glass. "That’s right. Let them in."

"By your command!" The soldiers left immediately.

Before long, Valkyrie and the others walked over. "That soldier looked like he was in a hurry. Is something wrong?"

Jason looked up at the stars and smiled. "Something happened, but it’s a good thing."

Valkyrie relaxed. "What kind of good thing makes you this happy?"

Jason said, "A general is about to join my ranks! It’s perfect that he could lead his fleet here before we leave for Vormir. With him, the trip to Vormir will be like a piece of cake."

Intrigued by Jason’s introduction, everyone became curious about this future comrade. To be called a "general" by Jason meant this person’s strength was extraordinary—at least far superior to the likes of Ronan—and they commanded their own fleet. Everyone searched their mental lists of famous figures, but couldn’t find anyone who fit both criteria.

Half an hour later, amid the gasps of the guests, a man draped in a black robe and helmet stepped into the garden.

"He’s here!" Jason laughed.

Valkyrie and the others stared with wide, stunned eyes. The man they had been anticipating for hours wore a terrifying, monstrous mask. Judging by his gait, his legs and arms were likely prosthetic. The glowing device on his chest appeared to be a life-support system. To anyone looking, this man was a cripple with one foot in the grave.

And yet, he was the ally Jason had been waiting for. The man’s image was the polar opposite of the powerful warrior they had imagined. They looked at each other, silently marveling at how surreal the world could be.

Despite the prosthetics, the man in black moved without hindrance. He strode up to Jason and bowed respectfully. "Greetings, my Master!"

The man’s voice was not only deep and gloomy, but it also came through an amplifier; it seemed his vocal cords were ruined as well. What on earth had happened to him to turn him into this?

"Darth Vader." Jason studied him seriously, looking at him with a hint of regret. The legendary Jedi who was supposed to bring balance to the universe had ended up like this because of a moment’s obsession. How tragic, how lamentable...

"This broken body severely limits your talent. Don’t worry. Once I obtain the Reality Stone, I can heal you. You will soon be able to take off that mask and live again as Anakin Skywalker."

"Thank you for your mercy!" Hearing this, Darth Vader knelt on one knee in excitement.

"Go. Take your subordinates and join the party. Tonight is the final revelry, because in two days, we have a major operation."

"Hey, do you guys really think this guy is strong? I don’t see it at all." Peter, leaning against a large tree with a glass of wine, watched Darth Vader from a distance.

Gamora rolled her eyes and said, "Peter, judging by appearances is a fatal mistake on the battlefield. Besides, just looking at you, nobody would believe you’re a master pilot."

"What do you mean ’just looking at me’?! Gamora, what’s that supposed to mean?" Peter immediately bristled.

"Nothing. Just a reminder: eat less meat, more salad," Gamora teased.

"Don’t talk, I’ve got an eight-pack!" Peter argued.

"Give it a rest, Peter. You’re only one bowl of rice away from being fat," Rocket Raccoon added, stabbing him with the truth.

"OK! Since you’re all saying that, I’m hitting the gym tonight. I’m gonna lift some dumbbells."

"Heh, just don’t get hungry in the middle of the night and eat the dumbbells."

"It’s actually very simple to find out how strong he is," Drax leaned in and suggested. "Just go pick a fight with him."

"What! Are you crazy? I’m not gonna bully a disabled guy," Peter shook his head quickly.

Rocket got a sudden inspiration, his eyes wide. "Peter, how about you sneak into his room tonight and take his prosthetic legs off? Then he’ll have to come out doing a handstand tomorrow morning. Hahaha, stop it, just the thought of it is hilarious."

"I am definitely not doing that again." Thinking about the units he lost in the Kyln prison for taking someone’s prosthetic leg, Peter felt a pang of heartache.

Rocket continued to tempt him. "Peter, I recently got a music album from Earth. If you go take his legs off tonight, I’ll give you the album. How about it?"

At this, Peter felt a bit tempted. "What album?"

"It’s called something like ’A Century of Songs.’ It’s a collection of the biggest hits from Earth over the last hundred years. Well? Good deal, right?"

"I think it’s a good deal," Drax added, always happy to see chaos.

"Let me think about it." Peter was torn.

Ultimately, he resisted the temptation of the record and rejected Rocket’s proposal. The group expressed their disappointment, while Peter believed he was showing respect to the disabled. Little did he know, he had just saved his own life. If he had actually snuck into Darth Vader’s room that night, Jason would have been collecting his corpse the next morning.

The ships operating abroad returned to Planet Walter one after another. After two days of rest and reorganization, the day of departure finally arrived.

To the cheers of millions, Jason boarded his own flagship, a mid-sized cruiser named the . Yondu and the Guardians of the Galaxy boarded the . And Darth Vader led his soldiers aboard the massive .

Three massive fleets, totaling hundreds of thousands of warriors, gathered in outer space and set off together for Vormir.
