Marvel: The Villain Chapter 360 Fry
Previously on Marvel: The Villain...
In the deep woods far west of the blast site, Stark's secret base stood as a silent titan. Built as a contingency against the Joker Organization, it was a sprawling complex of cutting-edge hangars, labs, and dormitories.
In the gray light of dawn, an Iron Legion drone descended, carrying two men. One was Steve Rogers, weary but resolved; the other was Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, bound in high-tensile shackles and wearing a look of confusion.
Pepper Potts met them on the tarmac, her expression a mix of concern and professionalism. "Tony told me everything. Get inside, Steve."
Inside the lab, Bucky was locked into a reinforced chair. His titanium arm hummed against the magnetic restraints. Steve sat across from him.
"Do you know me?" Steve asked softly.
"I know you," Bucky rasped. "You're Steve Rogers. Captain America."
"Do you know who you are?"
Bucky's eyes shrink. He knew he was an asset. He knew his mission was absolute. But a name? A home? Those were static on a broken frequency. Steve spent the next hour speaking of Indiana, of the 101st, of a skinny kid and his best friend who never let him walk alone.
"I have... impressions," Bucky finally admitted, his voice cracking. "But the rest is gone."
The lead psychiatrist, a man Tony had headhunted from the best institutions, stepped forward. "Captain, it's a standard wipe-and-loop protocol. HYDRA didn't just tell him to forget; they fried the pathways. To bring him back, we need to bypass the chemical blocks and trigger a neural reset."
"How?" Steve asked.
The doctor adjusted his glasses. "Electroconvulsive Therapy. High-voltage neural mapping. We essentially have to jump-start his brain."

A few hours later, Tony arrived in person. After a brief, affectionate reunion with Pepper, he found Steve in the hallway outside the treatment room.
"The doctors are the best in the world, Steve," Tony said, sitting beside him. "If anyone can find the 'Bucky' inside that man, it's them."
"Thank you, Tony," Steve said. "But we have bigger problems. Fury is dead. SHIELD is HYDRA."
Tony didn't look surprised—he looked disgusted. "I got the news on the flight. Give it to me straight, Cap. What did Zola tell you?"
Steve laid it out: the parasite growth of HYDRA, the collaboration with the Joker Organization, and the impending Project Insight.
"Zola wrote an algorithm," Steve explained. "It's on the drive Fury gave me. It identifies threats to HYDRA. But I don't know the scale of it yet."
Tony leaned back, rubbing his chin. "I can tell you the scale. Alexander Pierce—Fury's boss—convinced me to consult on the propulsion systems for the new Insight Helicarriers. He said they were for global security. Now I realize I was building the world's biggest firing squad."
Tony's eyes narrowed as he connected the dots. "Pierce is the head of the snake. He proposed Insight. And the STRIKE teams that tried to kill you? They report directly to him."
"So we go after Pierce?" Steve asked.
"No," Tony shook his head. "Pierce is a politician. He's buried under a mountain of security and legal immunity. We need a leak. Someone high enough to know the target list, but low enough to crack under pressure."
Tony pulled up a holographic display. A photo of a bald, bespectacled man appeared. Agent Jasper Sitwell.
"Sitwell," Steve recognized him. "I've worked with him."
"He just took over the New York Bureau," Tony said. "He's Pierce's golden boy. If there's a list of people HYDRA wants dead, it's in Sitwell's head."
Steve stood up, his shield reflecting the morning sun. The weariness was gone, replaced by the cold focus of a soldier. "Then let's go. We need to find out who's on that list before the Helicarriers launch."
Tony tapped his housing unit, and his Mark XLII armor began to form around him. "Jarvis, prep the cloaked transport. We're going to New York for a little 'performance review' with Agent Sitwell."
