Martial Peak Chapter 6100, Left The 3,000 Worlds
Previously on Martial Peak...
As they re-entered the alleyway, Yang Kai paused, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply. The action seemed to indicate he was reconsidering his recent decision and its inevitable repercussions.
He then sent a mental message, a projection of his Divine Sense, to his Wives, instructing them to prepare. Since this was likely their final opportunity to see their eldest children, a farewell was necessary.
Furthermore, he had to deliver the news to his Parents, particularly his Mother, a prospect he dreaded.
Honestly, he had hoped his Wives would assist him in restraining his Mother. He now understood the immense effort his Father must have exerted when Yang Kai was young, working to keep his Mother calm enough to accept his frequent departures, whether for High Heaven Pavilion or any of his solitary expeditions.
However, it appeared all such arrangements would be thwarted as Wu Lun materialized behind the twins. None of them even sensed his approach before Wu Lun clasped them by the necks and grinned at Yang Kai, declaring, "Alright. Now that you've said your goodbyes, I'll be taking them."
Yang Kai instinctively activated a spatial lock around them, crying out, "Wait!" But it was already too late. In truth, it would have been futile from the start; otherwise, Wu Lun wouldn't be regarded with such dread.
Moving through space as if he were a phantom, seemingly gliding through solid matter unimpeded, the frozen space offered no resistance. Wu Lun simply tumbled backward, the twins held in his arms.
Simultaneously, Yang Ji and Yang Xu instinctively struggled. The former attempted to manipulate the Principles of Space, while the latter sought to influence the Principles of Time. Yet, their efforts proved useless.
The very Principles seemed to congeal, unresponsive. It felt as though their limbs were bound, their natural actions, as easy as breathing, now hindered.
Shock registered on their faces as they moved to call out to their Father, but he had vanished from their sight.
…
With Wu Lun's abrupt departure, Yang Kai received another urgent message. This time, it originated from Xia Ning Chang.
"Husband! Yang Ling… she's gone!"
Catching the tremor of panic in her voice, Yang Kai couldn't help but frown. He immediately extended his Divine Sense, scanning the entirety of this world. As she stated, Yang Ling was indeed absent. He could not detect her presence, much like he was unable to sense Yang Ji, Yang Xu, or Wu Lun…
"That scoundrel!" Yang Kai gritted his teeth so fiercely one could almost hear the faint sound.
The ground beneath him began to fracture, and the walls of nearby structures started to tremble.
However, before he could storm out in a reckless pursuit, Shi materialized and quickly cordoned off the area. He swiftly employed the Heaven Devouring Battle Law, using it to absorb the surges of energy Yang Kai was uncontrollably releasing.
Whether it was his aura or merely his voice carrying a sliver of his Qi, the children in the vicinity of the school wouldn't be able to withstand such pressure. If Yang Kai were to unleash even a fraction of it, despite the protective Arrays safeguarding the students, they could still be harmed.
"Stop! Are you intending to level the school with a pointless rampage here?!" Shi bellowed, clenching his fist tightly to contain the overflowing power.
Fortunately, Yang Kai managed to regain his composure swiftly, taking deep breaths to calm himself. His eyes, however, still burned with fury. As he prepared to take a step forward, Shi intercepted him. "You can't even sense him. What's the point of trying to pursue?"
"I—" Yang Kai began, but Shi quickly interjected.
"Just stop here. We both know he's transported them to another Plane. Instead of dwelling on worry, you'd be better off consoling your Wives first," Shi added with a sigh. "A part of you still doesn't want them to go, and I understand that. But the arrow has been loosed; there's no recalling it now."
"If you yourself are not convinced, what will you tell the rest of your Family? Su Yan is only being restrained by your Sister at this moment. The other Wives are also hesitant but have held back, accepting your decision to let the Twins choose. Now that Yang Ling has been taken, how do you anticipate they will react?"
"Yes. But what if…" Yang Kai attempted to argue, but Shi immediately cut him off.
"You didn't even explain the limitations of our Open Heaven Realm Cultivation Method to them earlier. It's clear you're as reluctant as your Wives to see them depart. Yet, you understand better than anyone that their potential shouldn't be confined. As for their safety, with that entity within them, relying on their own strength, do you truly believe they'll be in significant danger over there?" Shi continued. "Just have faith in them. They are your children, after all. And for Yang Ling, I'm certain they have some plans in mind for her."
“If they don’t want to irrevocably sever ties with the Twins, they should protect her. Alternatively, perhaps this presents an opportunity for her?” Shi inquired calmly.
“*Haa…*” Yang Kai drew a deep breath, exhaled, and then looked to the sky, his mind in disarray. His formidable aura also subsided, and Shi ceased his application of the Heaven Devouring Battle Law.
Yang Kai turned to face Shi, intending to express his gratitude, but before he could utter a word, Shi raised his palm.
“Our time for pleasantries is limited. Go attend to your women,” Shi instructed, gesturing behind him with his thumb, where he sensed the fabric of Space being rent asunder.
At this juncture, Yang Kai’s countenance shifted dramatically, his expression now overtly conveying, ‘Brother, could you possibly lend me this aid just this once?’
However, Shi, ever the solitary figure, met Yang Kai’s gaze directly before vanishing from sight.
…
““Release us!”” Yang Ji and Yang Xu cried out in unison.
“Gladly,” Wu Lun responded amiably, a smile gracing his features as always.
They had been held in an embrace for mere moments before being whisked away in an instant to another locale. This time, the area was surprisingly more familiar to the pair…
After all, they found themselves situated at the very foundation of High Heaven Academy, precisely where the Grand Array was located.
It was an immense subterranean complex designed to house the Arrays that powered the various functions of the academy. Unsurprisingly, this place was vast enough to encompass nearly the entire academy, extending deep beneath the earth.
Given the nature of Arrays, intricate markings adorned every surface, crafted from diverse materials that shimmered with a kaleidoscope of lights. The sight was strangely captivating to any observer. Yet, for the Twins, it only deepened their perplexity. They were, after all, within a highly secured area protected by formidable Arrays. The fact that they had been so easily transported here defied logic.
Furthermore, considering the sensitive nature of this sanctuary, were there no guards or vigilant sentinels? Due to the inherent properties of Arrays, certain points were inherently more vulnerable than others. It was inconceivable that any random child could simply wander in and pilfer a glowing artifact. There had to be personnel overseeing this critical location.
Yet, within this sprawling expanse, Yang Ji and Yang Xu could not detect a single presence apart from their own.
“Wait. Why are we here?” Yang Ji’s eyes narrowed as he surveyed their surroundings.
Wu Lun disregarded his question and addressed the void directly, “I have delivered them here. Emerge and complete the task,” he stated before vanishing once more.
The one he had addressed consequently materialized, distinct from Yang Ji, and turned to confront the Twins.
“For it is through the Array situated here that our revered path to the long-sought Plane shall be manifested,” the Heavenly Demon Queen finally revealed herself, offering an explanation.
The very instant she did, Wu Lun reappeared. This time, he was accompanied by two additional individuals: Mei Qing, the receptionist, and Yang Ling.
Mei Qing was in an unconscious state, slung over Wu Lun’s shoulder. Yang Ling, however, was merely held by the hand, being led into their presence.
Upon witnessing Yang Ling, Yang Ji and Yang Xu’s eyes widened in astonishment.
[Why is she present!?] The thought echoed simultaneously in both their minds, yet remained unspoken as the Heavenly Demon Queen addressed Yang Ling, “Are you certain?”
Yang Ling, having been abruptly ‘abducted,’ showed no signs of surprise and simply offered a nod.
The Heavenly Demon Queen glanced at Wu Lun and declared, “If my understanding serves me, the responsibility of conducting our passage to the Source Realm falls upon me as the inaugural undertaking. Once we have arrived, I trust the subsequent endeavors shall be entrusted to your capable hands.”
“What else? This was your entire scheme, was it not? That’s precisely why you reconfigured the Arrays here,” Wu Lun retorted, rolling his eyes.
“I comprehend,” the Heavenly Demon Queen’s eyes widened momentarily before she ultimately nodded.
“Then, let us commence,” the Heavenly Demon Queen pronounced, closing her eyes.
Soon, a segment of the Grand Array began to emanate a brilliance superior to the surrounding portions. This Array was subtly concealed within the Grand Array itself. Naturally, the Heavenly Demon Queen had ingeniously modified the Grand Array to incorporate various clandestine functionalities.
For instance, one such modification granted the Twins the ability to wield their Qi even within the academy grounds. Another was a selective cloaking mechanism, capable of obscuring the presence of designated individuals within the Grand Array. Unsurprisingly, further enhancements were integrated, such as the leverage she retained over Wu Lun and the most perilous function of all: a Teleportation Array leading directly to the Source Realm…
Understandably, there was a prevailing concern that Yang Kai might arbitrarily alter the Arrays at any given moment. Consequently, the Heavenly Demon Queen had also implemented a system that would alert her should any part of the configuration be tampered with.
“Hold on a moment! What is Yang Ling doing here!? Hey!” Yang Ji’s panic escalated as he realized they were on the verge of being teleported away.
‘Yang Ling, you were aware of this!’ Yang Xu surged forward, demanding answers. But before any explanations could emerge, Wu Lun clicked his tongue. ‘Just remain still. Even if your friend is a prodigy in the True Dao of Spirit Arrays, it’s hardly simple to alter existing work and integrate so many functions without extra materials. I cannot afford any harm befalling the four of you.’ Once again, Yang Ji and Yang Xu perceived the surrounding Principles to be utterly still. What’s more, their physical forms became immobile, as if colossal mountains were applying immense pressure from every direction. Standing motionless caused no discomfort. However, the slightest attempt to blink felt as though their bodies were being violently shredded by countless blades. ‘Don’t hurt my Eldest Brother and Eldest Sister!’ Yang Ling, noticing their abrupt immobility and strained postures, whined in protest. Yet, her pleas had no effect on Wu Lun, whose willfulness was truly profound. Soon after, the Heavenly Demon Queen's eyes fluttered open, and the world ignited with brilliance. In that precise instant, none of the three children remained within the 3,000 Worlds.
