Madam Is A Sensational Figure In The City Chapter 1: How Dare You Hit Your Old Man

~3 minute read · 793 words

Yan Jinyi had been resurrected.

To secure a spot in the resurrection queue, she had waited in the underworld for a considerable 500 years.

It couldn't be helped. Back then, the battles were fierce. As the leader of the bandits, advocating for unity while being kind and loyal, how could she bear to witness her brothers meet a grim end?

In a moment of uncontrolled fury, she unleashed her power and… annihilated all the enemies.

Otherwise, she likely wouldn't have endured such a lengthy wait.

Yan Jinyi lay perfectly still on the grand and spacious bed, her gaze fixed upon the ceiling. If not for the gentle rise and fall of her chest, observers might have assumed she was deceased.

Without any forewarning, a hand swept towards her face, instantly imprinting a red mark on her fair skin.

“Still feigning death, are we? You b*tch, how dare you attempt to seduce my fiancé? I will make sure to beat you severely and end you today!”

The intense, stinging sensation on her face caused Yan Jinyi to flinch, jolting her back to full awareness.

Clearing her vision, she observed the haughty and imposing woman standing before her.

The woman wore heavy makeup, resembling a ghastly apparition from the depths of Hell. Her attire was skimpy, exposing most of her limbs.

At that very moment, the woman raised her hand to strike again. However, Yan Jinyi reacted with swiftness, rolling over and surging to her feet. With a powerful kick, she sent the woman flying backward.

“From whence did this shrew appear? How dare you lay hands on me?”

As she spoke, Yan Jinyi surveyed her surroundings and was abruptly taken aback. ‘Where on earth is this place?’

Numerous men and women, adorned in peculiar attire, surrounded her within the house. Their expressions ranged from astonishment to smug satisfaction.

Furthermore, the space was filled with bizarre objects on display – dark and illuminated.

Despite their strangeness, Yan Jinyi felt an odd sense of familiarity with these items.

She recalled the employees of the underworld mentioning that the world she was destined for would be vastly different from her original one. They had arranged for her to inhabit another's body, fearing she might struggle to adapt.

Thus…

Yan Jinyi was still processing the influx of memories when the woman she had just repelled aggressively lunged toward her once more, preparing to strike. Yan Jinyi’s eyelids quivered slightly. She reached out, grasping the woman’s arm. With her eyebrows raised, she questioned with a cool indifference, “Are you seeking death?”

Cheng Ruoxue had never anticipated that the typically fragile Yan Jinyi would transform into someone entirely different. Not only had she been kicked, but she was also being brazenly threatened. Enraged, she snarled, “Yan Jinyi, it is you who is courting death. Director Li, you must expel this little b*tch from the set today, or I refuse to continue filming!”

Murmurs erupted from the onlookers as they began to console Cheng Ruoxue.

Yan Jinyi pressed the center of her forehead between her fingers. Suddenly, she remembered… she was now a celebrity.

This 'set' oddly resembled the grand opera houses of her time.

She, the leader of the formidable Black Cloud Fortress, whose name struck fear into the hearts of many, was reduced to a pathetic, easily bullied actress. The indignity of it all!

‘However, wasn’t the original owner of this body already married?’

‘Her husband was quite wealthy, yet she had descended to such a pitiable state.’

‘Yes, it appears she was not well-liked, and her husband’s family did not approve of her.’

Swiftly sifting through the original owner’s memories, she looked up at the person before her. “Are you Cheng Ruoxue?”

Cheng Ruoxue, who was in the midst of issuing her ultimatum to the director, froze in surprise. A bewildered expression flickered across her menacing eyes upon hearing the question.

“Are you out of your mind? Do you not know who I am?”

“I am not insane.” Yan Jinyi paused, then continued with a gravely serious tone, “You are.”

Cheng Ruoxue’s face contorted instantly. She turned her threat towards the director, “Director Li, I care not how perfectly suited she is for this role. As long as Yan Jinyi remains part of this cast, I will absolutely not step onto the set again.”

Director Li appeared deeply troubled, clearly placed in a difficult position. Yan Jinyi had been recommended by a friend; he admired her innate talent and acting prowess. But now…

Cheng Ruoxue tilted her chin slightly, proclaiming with arrogance, “What’s the matter? Director Li, do you also dare to offend Third Young Master Huo? Very well, I shall call Third Young Master right now.”
