Luis narrowly completed a demanding task for his mother-in-law before heading to his sister-in-law Leah's room, only to find it locked. Leah warned him about Ariana's presence and reminded him of their agreement to avoid inappropriate behavior at home. The next day, Luis found everyone had their own plans. He later met Leah, who was upset about his actions, and drove her to her childhood home. There, Leah witnessed the demolition and reconstruction of her family's ancestral home, and saw her grandmother with Suzanne, leading her to question her grandmother's past loyalties.

His sister-in-law was immediately incensed.

Luis lit a cigarette and said calmly, "Isn't this perfectly normal? The main reason your mom agreed to rebuild the ancestral home was that she didn't have to pay for it."

"Even if we chip in for some furniture, it's not much."

Leah's personality couldn't stand this. She gritted her teeth in anger. "Brother-in-law, is this your excuse for sleeping with my mom???"

That was definitely the soul-searching question. Luis smiled without panicking, simply speaking softly, "Leah, I'm not trying to put you down, but do you understand the adult world?"

"What don't I understand!!!"

Young people always want to seem mature. Saying something like that to her was practically a challenge. In an instant, his sister-in-law was so mad her chest was heaving.

Seeing her temper flare, Luis knew he had her. He continued casually, "Since you understand the adult world, then what do you think will eventually happen with your parents?"

"Well..."

That question caught Leah off guard.

She'd been about to blurt out, "Then just get divorced—what else can they do?"

Growing up, she had been mostly raised by Aunt Yana and Aunt Eloise. She had little emotional attachment to her father.

In her eyes, her older sister Nancy was practically a traitor—calling that mistress "Auntie" affectionately, even once calling her "Little Mom." Unforgivable.

But when it came to the future, this was the most confusing age.

Luis leaned against the car and looked at her, smiling. "Just treat this as me rambling, and then think about whether I'm right."

"Your mom raised the three of you on barely any money each month. Why didn't she get a divorce? Because she'd get even less if she did."

"Think about it from her perspective—if they went to court, how much child support would she really get? Would it be enough for three daughters?"

"Even if your mom went to work, would what she earned actually be enough?"

While Leah listened in stunned silence, Luis put out his cigarette and lit another one.

"Leah, right now life feels easy and happy for you. But have you ever thought about how your mom got through all those years???"

Leah wavered for a moment, then said defiantly, "Don't give me that. No matter how Mom got through it, that's no excuse for you two to cheat."

She was still clear-headed enough, but for Luis, this was manageable.

Luis just looked at her with a knowing smile. Leah couldn't help feeling guilty, but she pressed on stubbornly, "Am I wrong??"

"Aunt Yana and Aunt Eloise helped raise you, but only occasionally. Your mom was so busy she was practically losing her mind."

"According to her, when she was raising the three of you, she was so exhausted she didn't even have the strength to hang herself."

"Your dad went off to find a mistress, but the kids he left behind—she had to raise them. All things considered, it's a miracle your mom never beat you."

Leah suddenly put herself in that situation—if her husband cheated and didn't come home.

Then she had to raise three kids, looking like a disheveled madwoman. She couldn't control her emotions at the thought.

Seeing her hesitating, Luis continued, "But your mom kept going. That's a determination no one can ignore."

"See the biggest problem? She's been starved of affection for all those years."

Luis said seriously, "If she'd been willing to abandon you, her life would have been much easier. But you've seen it all these years."

"She lived on that meager allowance, worked hard to raise you, and did odd jobs to make ends meet."

This time, Leah was visibly moved. But she still gritted her teeth and said, "So what? That still doesn't make it right for you to cheat with my mom."

Luis could tell her defenses were wavering, so he went straight in. "Then let me ask you—if your parents divorced now and your mom found some old guy to marry, would you be happy with that???"

"My mom wouldn't make it that easy for that vixen."

Leah immediately scoffed.

"Exactly. So why should that vixen get to live happily with your dad while your mom has to suffer alone all these years? That's just not fair."

Leah looked conflicted. "But... you still can't be with my mom..."

"Leah, you're grown up now. You should understand your mom's pain."

"All these years, it's just been a widow and her kids. You've all been bullied enough. Those old geezers—which one ever had good intentions toward your mom?"

Luis said earnestly, "Your mom's at this age now. She doesn't want to find you a stepfather. And now that life's finally getting better, is there really any need to stir up more chaos?"

"I admit we're wrong—it's all my fault, really."

Luis said with genuine sincerity. "And don't blame your mom. It's on me. That night, on her birthday, she'd had too much to drink, and we were all so happy—I lost control for a moment, and it just happened."

"By the next morning, when we'd sobered up, it was already too late to take it back."

"So that was the night..."

Leah said dazedly. Of course she remembered her mother's birthday.

Her mother had been moved to tears, and the three sisters had cried with joy too. They'd all seen how much their mom had suffered over the years.

Unlike the traitor Nancy, Leah was firmly on her mother's side. She hated that vixen and had little affection for her father.

Leah sighed. "Brother-in-law, but you're with me... and with my mom... if my second sister ever finds out, our family will be ruined."

"Then we'll just keep it from her!"

Luis's eyes lit up. In the end, her worry outweighed her anger—that was a good opening.

He immediately wrapped his arms around her from behind. Leah gave a few tsundere struggles, but when she couldn't break free, she just let herself be held.

Breathing in the intoxicating scent of her hair, Luis said with a smile, "Don't worry, Leah..."

"Your mom's at this age now. If we keep this up for a few years, at least it'll make up for all the years she's suffered."

"Everyone has desires. She's been suppressing hers for so long—she deserves to enjoy herself."

"How could it be okay for her to get involved with some random guy out there? It's better to be with someone we know, right?"

It was pure, unadulterated nonsense—but for the moment, Leah actually found it convincing.

"As for your second sister, don't worry."

"Even before she got pregnant, she couldn't satisfy me. And after she got pregnant, she was always worried I'd get too pent up."

"Men are all no good."

Leah mumbled with a blush.

"Heh, your sister actually approves of me finding other women—just as long as I don't pay for it and don't break up the family."

"Would you believe that if I went and told your second sister right now that we're having an affair, she'd just scold me a bit and not really get that angry?"

Leah shot him a seductive glare. "Don't be so sure. If my second sister finds out, she'll definitely kill you."

Luis tempted her further. "The thing is, your second sister has a secret—that's why she's so tolerant of me."

"What secret!!"

"Hehe, I'll keep it a secret for now. I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised."

"Hmph, I won't say anything anyway. But you'd better be careful—if my second sister catches you, you're dead."
