Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women Chapter 593 Jealous Girl

During the span of over an hour that Luis spent at the table, his luck was abysmal, and as the clock ticked past midnight, there was no indication that his fortune would change.
While the rest of the group experienced the usual fluctuations of the game, one man in particular was left in a foul mood after being repeatedly needled by Luis. He suffered a streak of horrific luck, losing two consecutive hands in devastating fashion.
In the first instance, he faced a brutal outcome: a flush narrowly bested by another superior flush, losing by the slimmest of margins.
The second disaster involved a showdown with Fatty, who had been riding a wave of momentum. Both held straight flushes featuring a 90J. Per the local table rules, in the event of identical hands, the individual who revealed their cards first was declared the loser.
Fatty had been dominating the night and felt invincible. Daniel, already frustrated by his previous loss, allowed his nerves to get the better of him and turned his cards over prematurely.
The room erupted in commotion, yet Daniel alone wore a scowl; the mathematical odds of such a rare collision were astronomical.
While losing on a high card is one thing, witnessing a conflict between straight flushes is incredibly rare—even statistically less likely than a low-ranking 235 hand defeating a straight flush.
By the time an hour had passed, Daniel had hemorrhaged over 3,000 dollars, which, combined with his earlier losses, brought his total deficit for the evening to a staggering 6,000 dollars.
Though he was a man of means, enduring such a persistent string of bad luck was difficult to stomach.
Fatty emerged as the night's big winner, while the others barely broke even. Nancy finished tallying the winnings and remarked with a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness, we actually walked away with two hundred dollars."
"Haha, as long as we didn't end up in the red, that's what counts!"
Luis chuckled in agreement.
This only deepened Daniel's irritation. He felt as though he were the only one financing the table, and as the host, being bled dry was humiliating. The frustration was palpable.
Fatty began gathering his belongings and remarked, "I should probably turn in since I'm working tomorrow. I'll give you a chance to settle the score another time."
The others followed suit, eager to quit while they were ahead. Only one man, who sat on a profit of over a thousand, seemed hesitant. "It's a shame to stop now with no one else to play with."
"That's easily fixed—let's head down to the village entrance and play until sunrise."
Daniel shoved his remaining cash into his pocket, shot a resentful look at Luis, and challenged, "What about you? Do you have the guts to join us?"
"Not tonight, I don't think luck is on my side today. Maybe another time?"
Daniel let out a sharp snort. Ignoring the calls from his parents, he stalked away. His aggressive posture screamed of a seasoned gambler. At that moment, his singular focus was finding fresh meat to recoup his losses, and he had no interest in further interaction with Luis.
Darlan's card session had concluded, and the mahjong game had also come to a halt.
When Luis returned, Darlan and his father-in-law, Arthur, had already laid out a midnight snack.
The hostess, Hela, had complained of dizziness and retreated to rest. Her sister, Chloe, had brought her children, but due to the guest rooms being unprepared, she had opted to drive home after their earlier meal.
"Second son-in-law, second daughter-in-law, come and have a drink with us."
Darlan, looking quite ruddy and spirited, greeted them warmly. Both Luis and Nancy were famished, so they grabbed their bowls and chopsticks to join the table.
Luis took a seat beside his mother-in-law. Ruth immediately slid a bowl of chili sauce toward him and laughed, "Try this, son-in-law. I tasted it myself and it's incredibly fragrant. It should perfectly suit your palate."
"This is excellent!"
Luis dipped his chopsticks and took a bite; the rich, spicy flavor was indeed outstanding.
Darlan beamed. "It's delicious, isn't it? This family's homemade sauce is a true local specialty. Don't be shy, everyone, dig in. We're all one family now, so keep it relaxed."
Nancy remarked with a hint of jealousy, "Mom, you didn't even bother serving me, but you're catering to him. Who is your biological child anyway?"
"Oh, are you looking for trouble? It seems like you haven't been taught a lesson in a while—is your skin itching for a pinch?"
Ruth glared at her daughter.
Because the main dinner had been heavy on meat and fish, no one had an appetite for anything too greasy at this hour. Darlan, a veteran drinker, was particular about his pairings and had a refined palate for midnight dining.
There were very few leftovers from the evening feast; following local custom, they had been sent home with the village cooks as a sign of proper etiquette, rather than the hosts hoarding the scraps.
The nightlife in the town was surprisingly lively. Darlan had coordinated with a small eatery near the entrance to prepare a table of fresh stir-fried dishes.
"This is made with local wild herbs and mountain flowers. You really can't find these in the city. Stir-frying them with cured meat makes them taste sublime."
"And these are wild river shrimp. Fried until crispy, they're naturally sweet."
"Dear in-laws, you must try this. I specially requested this local pork. Just a quick stir-fry with chili, and it's incredibly fragrant."
The table groaned under the variety of small dishes. Even the scrambled eggs with fresh chives, made with free-range eggs, possessed an aroma that was truly unforgettable.
The soup was a stew of aged duck and winter melon, crisp and light. It was evident that Darlan placed significant value on this gathering; the 200,000-dollar gold bar he received earlier had undoubtedly bolstered his pride.
Luis had orchestrated that gift primarily to ensure his sister-in-law had access to funds, not simply to curry favor. Darlan had the sense to entrust the gold to his daughter-in-law, Nancy, for safekeeping.
Between the food and the drinks, everyone felt the weight of a long, busy day.
Halfway through the meal, Nancy led her mother upstairs to get the rooms ready and shower.
The four men lingered over their drinks until past one o'clock, each having downed over half a pound of strong liquor. With heavy eyelids, they finally retreated to their designated rooms.
The two primary bedrooms on the second floor were claimed by David and his wife, while the other was occupied by the in-laws for the night. Luis was assigned to a guest room on the third floor.
However, his mother-in-law's door remained locked. As a long-separated couple, sleeping together was out of the question.
Nancy seemed to have anticipated her mother’s wishes, as she escorted Arthur to a guest room on the third floor.
Luis was quite intoxicated, so he had no desire to make any moves. Instead, he drifted into a peaceful sleep. The following day at noon, the family packed up and departed.
That weekend, his wife Lily and Yana headed to the provincial capital. Upon returning, his mother-in-law went straight to the teahouse. Luis enjoyed a relaxing rest at home, occasionally teasing his sister-in-law.
The girl's jealousy had tempered significantly. By Saturday, she was still planning on spending the night at Avery's place.
