Love You Till the End Chapter 6: Why is the Fire So Big Today?
Previously on Love You Till the End...
"Girl! We're out of peanuts!"
Shen Cheng felt quite disheartened from not working for a few days, yet Shen Zhongming, as was his usual habit, thrust trivial matters onto her shoulders.
Receiving no reply, Shen Zhongming urged her once more.
Finally, Shen Cheng stormed out, the door slamming shut behind her.
With Shen Zhongming at home, at least three days meant the door would be slammed eight times under normal circumstances.
If the door were not built sturdily, it would have been reduced to pieces long ago.
Shen Cheng appeared as though she longed to tear someone apart, her expression utterly ice-cold, radiating a chill from her head to her toes.
The moment she emerged, Shen Zhongming cast a glance her way, asking, "Can't you be a bit gentler, young lady?"
Shen Cheng shot back sharply, "Mind your own business!"
Shen Zhongming took a swig of his erguotou and clicked his tongue, remarking, "What has you so worked up today?"
He then extended the bottle of erguotou he was holding, adding, "Have a sip; this one isn't the five yuan per jin kind, your dad guarantees it!"
Shen Cheng's eyes turned red. "Get lost!"
Without even sparing another glance at Shen Zhongming, she strode out, not looking back.
In her twenty-one years of existence, this was the first time she had been so incredibly angry.
With her hands tucked into her pockets, Shen Cheng navigated a path more familiar to her than the lines etched into her own palm.
Last night's rain had left the ground slick. Before she could step back, a car sped past, drenching her in a splash of muddy water.
The volume of water wasn't substantial, yet it managed to soak her through completely.
A few stray strands of hair, now damp with the dirty water, clung to her cheeks, giving her a thoroughly disheveled appearance.
Most irritatingly, because her light-colored attire was now drenched, her graceful figure could be vaguely discerned even in the dim light of the evening.
The grimy water trickled from her cheeks, each drop falling like a tiny burden.
In such a pathetic state—
Screech!
The piercing sound of brakes being applied echoed as a sports car came to a halt just a meter away.
The car window glided down slowly, revealing a strikingly beautiful face peering out.
An adversarial glint shot from the eyes of the person inside.
"Oh, Miss Shen, what a coincidence!"
The greeting from the other person was peculiar; perhaps she herself didn't realize if it was laced with ridicule, mockery, or sheer sarcasm.
Shen Cheng glanced at her, raising a hand to swipe the dirty water from her face, her attractive lips curving into a slight smile. "Quite the coincidence indeed."
Her voice held no discernible emotion, making it impossible to guess whether she was feeling pleased or displeased.
Upon hearing her reply, the other person removed her sunglasses and let out a chuckle. "Just now... I'm sorry! If I had known it was you, I wouldn't have taken this route!"
Shen Cheng arched an eyebrow, the smile gracing her lips widening slightly.
Noticing Shen Cheng's silence, the other person grew more self-assured. "I was going to offer you a ride, but look at you, all dirty..."
Every word was sharpened like a blade, eager to tear Shen Cheng down.
Sometimes, the intensity of disliking someone could be truly dramatic.
The driver was identified as Xia An'an, a fellow student at the same school as Shen Cheng.
Once, their friendship had fractured because the guy Xia An'an admired inexplicably gravitated towards Shen Cheng.
From that point onward, their paths diverged, and they had no further dealings with each other.
Understandably, a mutual animosity had festered between them!
"Dirty?" Shen Cheng suddenly let out a laugh. "Does someone as 'clean' as you, who only associates with people supposedly free of sexually transmitted diseases, truly feel indignation deep inside?"
Dealing with such a low-class b*tch, it really isn't that complicated, is it?!
