Shi Mei remained steadfastly by Shi Keke's bedside, refusing to leave her side even for a moment. Meanwhile, Shen Cheng and Shi Yu worried through the night, unable to rest. The next morning, Wen Wan brought Shi Keke homemade chicken soup, accompanied by Shi Yaoguang, whose persistent efforts to win back Wen Wan continued unabated. The narrative then delved into Shi Yaoguang's past, revealing Ye Jin's elaborate scheme involving a faked encounter and pregnancy, which ultimately led to his divorce from Wen Wan and marriage to Ye Jin. This deception was eventually uncovered, resulting in Shi Yaoguang divorcing Ye Jin and acknowledging his debt to Wen Wan.

Wen Wan entered the hospital room, where Shi Mei was sitting by the bedside, holding Shi Keke’s hand. Seeing his exhausted yet unrelenting appearance, she couldn’t help but feel distressed.

She carefully walked into the room and placed the thermal container on the cabinet beside the bed before gently patting Shi Mei’s shoulder, comforting him, "It’s okay."

Hearing her voice, Shi Mei turned around, saw it was Wen Wan, and nodded in response, then planned to get up and let her have the seat.

Wen Wan saw he was about to stand up and quickly pressed his shoulder down, saying, "I know Keke hasn’t woken, and you’re unwilling to go back no matter what. Sit down, close your eyes, and rest for a while. Mom is here."

Shi Mei watched her silently for a moment, finally compromising.

"Okay."

This always arrogant and invincible man finally shed all his disguise and defenses, showing his most vulnerable side.

He sat back down, looking at the unconscious Shi Keke lying on the hospital bed. His tightly furrowed brows slowly relaxed as he rested on her hand and closed his eyes.

Wen Wan stayed in the room for a while, during which she brought warm water to wipe Shi Keke’s body, and then went to the doctor’s office to inquire about Shi Keke’s condition.

The doctor told her that aside from a mild concussion, Shi Keke had no other complications. The coma was temporary, and she could wake up anytime.

Upon hearing this, Wen Wan finally felt relieved. She left the office and called Mr. Shi to report the good news.

Mr. Shi remained silent for a long time after receiving the call, then said, "Once Keke wakes up, let them proceed with the wedding."

Wen Wan chuckled, saying, "I think the same, but Dad, it’s still essential to seek the kids’ opinions first, since it’s their lifelong affair."

"You can seek their opinions, but I’ll arrange the wedding date. That boy Xiao Yu married without consulting me, his grandfather, and if Little Mei dares again, see how I’ll handle him."

"Alright, you will decide the wedding date." Wen Wan smiled.

Wen Wan and Mr. Shi chatted a bit more and then hung up the phone.

Shi Yaoguang had been standing nearby for a few minutes. Seeing Wen Wan hang up, he quickly walked over to her and asked, "Dad’s call?"

Wen Wan nodded and said, "Yes, he’s been worrying to death."

Shi Yaoguang was silent for a while, then said, "Do you have time tomorrow? Let’s go visit him together."

Wen Wan looked at him, and in those eyes, weathered by time, there seemed to be a hint of fatigue. She had seen and remembered his contributions over the past two years.

He proved with his actions that he was a good man, and she believed he was a good man.

Humans have emotions, desires, anger, love, joy, sorrow, and are moved by actions of others.

Wen Wan was no exception.

Although she hadn’t accepted Shi Yaoguang’s pursuit again, she forgave him, regardless of why they divorced in the first place, it no longer seemed important.

"Yes, come pick me up tomorrow morning, and we’ll get some supplements to bring to Dad."

Hearing Wen Wan say this, Shi Yaoguang was surprised and delighted, shedding his usual cold demeanor to reveal a smile: "Alright."

Wen Wan exchanged a smile with him, saying no more.

The relationship between the two seemed to be growing closer, and the gap between them seemed to be slowly disappearing...
