As the hour grew late, Shi Mei and Shi Keke made the decision to return home.

Upon departing from the Shi Family residence, Shi Mei conveyed to Shi Yu, "I shall entrust this task to you."

During the journey back, an unspoken tension permeated the car as Shi Keke and Shi Mei remained silent.

Shi Keke, with a slight frown, finally broke the quiet, "We need to stop by the supermarket later; I have something to buy."

Shi Mei, gripping the steering wheel firmly and fixedly looking ahead, merely offered a low hum in acknowledgement, proceeding without further comment.

Shi Keke was accustomed to his reserved responses, as he frequently concluded their conversations with a simple "hmm" or "understood."

The vehicle proceeded for approximately seven to eight minutes before coming to a halt outside a 24-hour supermarket.

As Shi Keke prepared to exit the car, gathering change from her purse, Shi Mei was quicker, undoing his seatbelt and stepping out. He turned towards her, his tone cool, "Wait in the car."

Without awaiting her reply, he then strode purposefully into the supermarket.

She mused about his overbearing nature, questioning why he hadn't inquired about her desired purchase, or if he simply assumed it must be food.

Once inside the supermarket, Shi Mei headed directly for the feminine hygiene section. A sales associate, noticing his approach, quickly came forward, "Sir, may I be of assistance?"

Shi Mei offered no verbal response, instead directing a pointed gaze toward a nearby shelf.

The sales associate immediately understood his unspoken request, "Ah, you're purchasing sanitary napkins for your wife. Do you have a particular brand in mind? If not, I highly recommend this one. She presented what appeared to be an innovative type of "sanitary napkin," seeking a reaction from Shi Mei. He, however, cast only a cursory glance over the product before returning his attention to the shelf.

His disinterest was evident; that particular brand of sanitary napkin did not meet his requirements!

The sales associate felt a prickle of awkwardness. Introducing feminine hygiene products to a man was already a delicate matter, and his lack of engagement only heightened the discomfort.

Considering it might be best for him to select on his own, Shi Mei continued to search the shelves without finding a suitable option. With a sigh, the sales associate approached again, holding up a mid-priced product, "Sir, if the previous suggestion wasn't to your liking, perhaps you would consider this one. It's 42 cm long, designed to prevent leakage, ensuring women can rest peacefully during their menstrual cycle."

Shi Mei responded with a cold hum, not even acknowledging the sanitary napkin held out to him.

At this point, the sales associate finally conceded, returning the product to the shelf and stepping back.

Shi Keke, having searched the supermarket without locating Shi Mei, assumed he had used a different exit. She proceeded to the sanitary products aisle to purchase several packs of sanitary napkins.

She had a personal habit of stocking up before her period began, keeping supplies in her car, her handbag, and her office to avoid any potential embarrassment from unexpected needs.

She was quite surprised to encounter Shi Mei near the sanitary napkin counter.

He stood before the display, meticulously examining pack after pack of sanitary napkins. His eyes were narrowed slightly, and his expression was one of unusual concentration.

It was a peculiar sight, witnessing a man invest such serious consideration into selecting sanitary napkins.
