Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2499: 235: The Great Vow (Part 4)
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
A sword sheath, though lacking the prestige of a blade, served as a top-grade Dao Treasure for Wang Ba, repeatedly securing his victory against formidable foes. It stands as a testament to the sheer lethality possessed by Immortal Monarch Luhe’s blade.
Perhaps constrained by the limitations of the Realm Sea, Wang Ba failed to glimpse his opponent's Taoist Sword.
Sensing his Primordial Spirit draining away, he dared not tarry and promptly pivoted his attention toward Tibo. Similar to his encounter with Immortal Monarch Luhe, the finer details concerning Tibo remained obscured, yet his areas of mastery were clear: the Six Candle Stick of Tongyou and several profound Divine Skills of Buddhism.
Beyond these, however, a cryptic annotation appeared:
“A Buddhist anomaly; once clashed with the Buddha over divergent views on Buddhist Law, leading him in anger to the Third Realm Sea…”
Before long, beneath Tibo’s name, a sutra materialized. Wang Ba channeled his thoughts toward it and, to his surprise, found he could perceive the text.
As he scanned the passages, a tremor ran through his heart. The text contained no secret arts or Divine Skills; rather, it functioned as Tibo’s personal articulation of his beliefs regarding Buddhist Law. He argued that the doctrines of reincarnation and karmic retribution were fundamentally unworkable within the Second Realm Sea. While all beings pursue Cultivation, even those who attain the state of immortals or Buddhas cannot escape the ultimate emptiness at the conclusion of their path. Only a select few supreme beings ever taste true immortality and eternal bliss. Yet, in his estimation, the bliss enjoyed by a mere few could never qualify as true enlightenment; only when every sentient being attains freedom can Buddhist Law at last be complete.
Reading these words left Wang Ba inexplicably unsettled. At last, he grasped the true origin of the philosophies held by the Supreme True Buddha and Tianshang Buddha Lord.
“It really is Tibo!”
“He attempted to instill his vision within the Second Realm Sea but found no recognition, so he fled to the Third Realm Sea to try again.”
“To perfect his Buddhist Law, his goal is to forge a genuine Buddha Kingdom inside the Third Realm Sea!”
“Dharma Realm…”
“Unity…”
“I see. So that’s the reality.”
The realization finally dawned upon him.
“By sacrificing the entire Third Realm Sea as an offering to merge the Three Great Dharma Realms, they intend to construct a Buddha Kingdom where the cycles of reincarnation and reprieve are dictated by one’s Cultivation or accumulated merit.”
“This is why Tianshang Buddha Lord never ascends! Their true aim involves establishing a unified Three Realms and Six Paths—encompassing past, present, and future—within the Third Realm Sea!”
“Their plan targets not just the Four Great Realms of Duanhai Cliff, but the entire expanse of the Realm Sea!”
Wang Ba’s heart hammered with fear.
Instantly, further implications flooded his mind. Should the entire Realm Sea become the domain of the Supreme True Buddha, the next logical move would be to sever the link between the Third and Second Realm Seas, placing the entire Third Realm Sea under iron-fisted control. Cultivators would lose all hope of ascending, condemned to wander the Third Realm Sea indefinitely. Under such conditions, no matter how deeply he grasped the rules, he would never be a match for Tianshang Buddha Lord or the Supreme True Buddha.
“With my current command over the rules of the Realm Sea Origin, even if I broke through immediately after escaping, I would only reach late-stage Crossing Tribulation. I might be able to clash with typical Mahayana beings, but I would still fall significantly short against Tianshang Buddha Lord.”
“Given the accounts of the Human Immortal Realm described in the ‘Realm Sea Supplement’, he has likely reached the Human Immortal Fourth Layer or perhaps even further.”
“Not to mention, he commands the Three Great Dharma Realms,” Wang Ba mused deeply.
Having personally touched the memories of the True Spirit Fish of the Mahayana Realm, the path to breaking through the Tribulation-Transcending Realm and entering the Mahayana was perfectly clear. The method was deceptively simple: achieve perfection in both Primordial Spirit and the Dao Domain, using the rules as a catalyst to transcend them once they are fully mastered, thereby forcing a joint breakthrough of both Dao Domain and Primordial Spirit. However, the catch remained: the Primordial Spirit and Dao Domain take ages to hone, and since his current comprehension of the rules is so vast, he would have to transcend an unfathomable number of them. Essentially, the more rules of the Realm Sea Origin he learned, the more powerful he became, yet the further he drifted from Mahayana. If he were to fully master every rule above the Sky Dome, he might truly never reach Mahayana for the rest of his existence.
Recalling Tibo’s sutra and reflecting upon his own journey, countless thoughts collided and sparked, finally merging into a single flash of absolute clarity.
“I have the answer!”
Wang Ba’s eyes burned with resolve.
“In Tibo’s own vision of Mahayana Buddhism, a great catastrophe is also a great opportunity!”
“If Tianshang Buddha Lord and the Supreme True Buddha’s forces attempt to construct this Buddha Kingdom, it will be an unimaginable catastrophe for the Third Realm Sea. If I can halt this disaster in its tracks, that would count as supreme merit!”
“With merit of that magnitude, I could ascend to immortality in a single bound!”
“The solution is…”
Inspired by the image of Kong Zen from eons past, he pointed toward the sky and swore a solemn vow:
“I vow that the sentient beings of the Third Realm Sea shall be liberated from the Demon Buddha’s shadow!”
“Until such time as the Demon Buddha is driven out, I swear not to achieve immortality!”
As his oath echoed into the void, a subtle shift occurred beyond the pavilion. High above the Sky Dome, the stars blazed with sudden intensity, while the Water of Origin in the Realm Sea began to heave, swelling into a violent, turbulent surge.
