As Heavenly Monarch Chao and Wang Ba journey through the Chaos Origin Substance, they discuss the immense challenges divine beasts face in breaking through from the late-stage Eighth Tier to the Ninth Tier, limited by their bloodline rules, which has led to their subjugation by cultivators via the Beast’s Wild Path. Chao warns of the dangers in Jicang Abyss, a domain ruled by divine beasts, while Wang Ba contemplates methods to nurture a primary divine beast toward breakthrough using supportive demonic beasts. Upon arriving at the Cloud Sky Realm, they are greeted by True Man Gai and proceed deeper to view a towering, peculiar tree essential to reconstructing the Canlong Realm.

Wang Ba cast his eyes across the scene, then paused in mild astonishment. Beneath the vast trunk of this enormous tree, two portions of Nine-Colored Divine Soil were evidently working together to sustain this extraordinary tree.

True Man Gai appeared regretful as he addressed Heavenly Monarch Chao:

“This ‘Ancient Cyan Sky Wood’ has formed already, yet the time spent nurturing it remains fairly brief. The domain it produces afterward might not fully satisfy your needs, Fellow Daoist.”

Heavenly Monarch Chao examined the ancient tree and gave a slight nod, looking pleased:

“Fellow Daoist Gai, you're too humble. This level of quality is truly exceptional. Even though the nurturing period is short, for now, I simply aim to establish a heritage. Besides, the Chaos Origin Substance in this place is almost inexhaustible, free from any natural flaws.”

Wang Ba observed this and, despite his doubts, couldn't hold back his curiosity as he inquired:

“Might I ask Master Chao and True Man Gai, what precisely is this Ancient Cyan Sky Wood…”

True Man Gai and Heavenly Monarch Chao shared a knowing smile.

True Man Gai then spoke with a grin:

“Young Friend Taiyi, come with me.”

With those words, he soared toward the center of the ancient wood.

The dense branches of the ancient wood separated, forming a pathway.

The trio ascended in turn, starting through a tight passage that, after a few moments, widened abruptly.

Within that ancient wood lay a surprising miniature world, roughly the scale of a lake.

It featured sun, moon, stars, mountains, lakes, seas, and rivers, though all were remarkably tiny, appearing tangible yet illusory, like a whole realm squeezed into this ‘lake.’

True Man Gai explained with a smile:

“The Ancient Cyan Sky Wood holds the laws of a domain. When it finds an appropriate location, it roots and grows, developing into a full domain; hence, it has been employed to forge realms. Yet, without ample Chaos Origin Substance for sustenance, it withers swiftly—only at Duanhai Cliff can it thrive ongoing.”

Wang Ba absorbed this in contemplation, soon recalling Bu Chan’s natal treasure, the Nine-Colored Gourd.

As he reflected, True Man Gai's call rang out, and a cultivator approached from the distance.

This cultivator seemed to be in the mid-stage of Crossing Tribulation, but his face felt somewhat strange and unknown.

He bowed first to True Man Gai, then to Wang Ba and Heavenly Monarch Chao, with deep respect:

“True Man, have you summoned me?”

True Man Gai nodded:

“The matter I mentioned to you before—now is the moment to carry it out.”

The cultivator, hearing this, showed shock, a flicker of anticipated sorrow in his eyes, yet he replied deferentially:

“This disciple comprehends.”

Wang Ba turned to True Man Gai with puzzlement.

True Man Gai clarified:

“Indeed, this Ancient Cyan Sky Wood can transform into a domain, but to craft one properly requires the aid of a Realm Spirit. Lacking innate sentience, the Ancient Cyan Sky Wood needs a cultivator to refine it, binding life and path; upon forming the domain, the cultivator merges with it, thus becoming the Realm Spirit.”

Heavenly Monarch Chao displayed no astonishment, suggesting prior knowledge.

Wang Ba felt profound shock and glanced at the cultivator, murmuring just loud enough for the three:

“A mid-stage Crossing Tribulation cultivator, turning into a Realm Spirit like this—doesn't that seem like a tremendous loss?”

True Man Gai shook his head:

“Quite the opposite; when he first refined this Ancient Cyan Sky Wood, his realm was merely Nascent Soul, with no prospect of advancing. I simply honored his own desire when I gave him the tree seed.”

He let out a soft sigh:

“Across the epochs, how few truly attain eternal life? Even domains seldom persist amid the boundless Realm Sea. His lifespan might cap at Nascent Soul; reincarnation and recultivation without Immortal Ascension leaves the True Spirit adrift, no longer the same being. Becoming the Realm Spirit of Canlong Realm could prove a worthy route.”

Wang Ba listened and grew quiet, offering nothing further.

Each person pursues their own path; with it being the other's decision, there's no call for judgment.

Heavenly Monarch Chao discussed matters seriously with the cultivator, unconcerned about potential rebellion or adherence to Cloud Sky Realm's directives; as Realm Spirit, his destiny would entwine with Canlong Realm's inhabitants, bound in fortune and hardship.

Heavenly Monarch Chao then stated:

“If any lingering desires remain, fulfill them now.”

The cultivator shook his head:

“My kin from those days have all passed; I harbor no ties, and now I only yearn to realize Canlong Realm's rebirth, to taste eternal existence.”

At once, he executed his hand seals, and Wang Ba sensed the small world quake fiercely.

The group hastily departed, observing as the Ancient Cyan Sky Wood erupted from the earth, then ascended straight into the heavens.

Heavenly Monarch Chao, Wang Ba, and True Man Gai trailed right behind.

Until the cultivator guided the Ancient Cyan Sky Wood through the endless Chaos Origin Substance, reaching the ruins of the former Canlong Realm.

Amid the dense Chaos Origin Substance, a fractured void dimly appeared, encircled by drifting dark, twisted shards of Realm Membranes.

These Realm Membranes were the debris from Canlong Realm's ancient downfall.

Under the trio's gaze, the cultivator activated his technique once more, causing the Ancient Cyan Sky Wood to contract sharply before vanishing into his forehead.

Soon, the cultivator's features and form turned translucent, vaguely displaying verdant veins and roots sprouting from his flesh…

In the instant that followed, the cultivator shuddered intensely, his frame ballooning outward like a swelling balloon.

Beneath Wang Ba’s wide-eyed stare, this burgeoning form surged in size, instantly overwhelming the visible expanse of void.
