Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2453: 220: Why Rush to Harm Each Other?
Atop Mount Sumeru.
Near the Perfume Sea.
A pair of elderly monks bearing the same features, one floating in the heavens, the other stationed on the earth; one displaying a stern visage and serious bearing, the other wearing a grin on his face, relaxed and effortless.
Myriad monk silhouettes rapidly arrived in their vicinity, all of them stunned and puzzled at the sight of these two elder monks apparently facing off against one another:
“How can there be two Buddha Lords?!”
Merely Yan Poluo along with several companions, catching sight of the elder monk by the Perfume Sea, experienced a sudden plunge in their spirits:
“He remains here…”
Kong Zen landed next to Wang Ba, observing the unfolding events, felt an inexplicable jolt of alarm within himself.
“What’s happening?”
Though he had inferred certain notions from Wang Ba’s thoughts, confronted by this elder monk, he found himself compelled to voice the question.
Wang Ba’s spirit weighed down as he fixed his gaze upon the elder monk who stood composed and solitary beside the Perfume Sea, encircled by the throng of monks, while waves of unparalleled dread surged relentlessly through his consciousness!
Tianshang Buddha Lord!
He had the audacity to arrive solo!
Even more vital, as per Buddha Tianyin’s account, Tianshang Buddha Lord and Tianyin appeared bound by a primary body and manifestation bond, akin to his own link with Kong Zen!
And above all, Buddha Tianyin, much like Kong Zen, seemed to function as the manifestation instead of the primary form…
Contemplating this, a shiver inevitably gripped his spirit.
A manifestation arises from the primary form; though they appear distinct, in truth they form a single whole. This is precisely why Wang Ba never fretted over Chong Hua or Kong Zen acting without restraint.
Following this logic, should Buddha Tianyin prove to be a manifestation of Tianshang Buddha Lord, it implies that Buddha Tianyin remains under his dominion.
Should Buddha Tianyin align with Tianshang Buddha Lord’s stance as well…
“I never anticipated that you’d still identify my authentic form. I figured that after you banished me from this domain long ago, you’d cease to recognize me.”
By the Perfume Sea, the elder monk clad in yellow robes lifted his head marginally, allowing his monastic garments to billow, utterly disregarding the rapidly assembling monks nearby, his eyes locked entirely on Buddha Tianyin, uttering phrases that left every monk dumbfounded, all while his countenance stayed serene with a subtle grin, his voice laced with a touch of mockery.
He displayed no movements, nor emanated any fearsome pressure. Merely positioned there, resembling a commonplace elder monk, yet he compelled the encircling monks to instinctively diminish their aura, and right up to now, none had the courage to probe his background.
Not even Yan Poluo, merely one stride from Mahayana, uttered a word.
Hovering in the sky, Buddha Tianyin drooped his eyelids, pressed his palms in prayer, intoned the Buddha’s title softly:
“Amitabha.”
“Bygone events can’t be altered, yet the path ahead remains open to pursuit.”
“Having ascended to Supreme True Buddha and attained the status of Tianshang Buddha Lord today, endless chances await to realize your desires. Why come back to indulge in rampant misdeeds?”
At Buddha Tianyin’s declaration, the surrounding monks, ignorant of the facts, inevitably directed their gazes toward the elder monk so akin to Buddha Tianyin, their stares brimming with terror:
“He, he’s Tianshang Buddha Lord?!”
Yan Poluo and his group wore grave expressions, though surprise was minimal.
Despite prior suspicions, receiving this affirmation from Buddha Tianyin at this juncture, Wang Ba and Kong Zen felt their spirits plummet inescapably.
“You persist in that same obstinacy, Tianyin.”
The elder monk by the Perfume Sea shook his head lightly, chuckling at these remarks:
“Who claimed I intend to commit sins?”
Upon saying so, he gradually ascended skyward.
Buddha Tianyin glanced upward with a trace of uncertainty, fixing his eyes on the elder monk:
“What are you planning?”
The elder monk’s grin slowly receded as he countered:
“We stem from the same origin, our thoughts intertwined; do you truly remain unaware of my intentions?”
Then, as though it dawned on him:
“Ah, right, you feared I’d access your mind, thus upon our division, you severed our link… still, possessing every recollection from my history, surely you can infer something?”
Buddha Tianyin’s eyes narrowed faintly, his features shifting to gravity:
“You’ve arrived for my sake?”
Hearing that, the elder monk couldn’t restrain a soft clap and chuckle:
“Excellent!”
“Truly, none grasps me like you do!”
“After myriad years apart, the moment has come to reunite as one. I realize you sought to evade me, even pondered Nirvana as an escape, yet how could you fool me?”
“My original scheme involved subduing the three peripheral Domains sequentially prior to seeking you, yet regrettably, your unforeseen emergence last time truly caught me off guard, which isn’t typical for you…”
Nearby, Wang Ba’s spirit trembled.
“From the outset, the Supreme True Buddha targeted the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm?!”
Earlier, he wondered why the Supreme True Buddha, having seized the Canlong Realm and Void Demon Realm, targeted solely the Cloud Sky Realm without displaying any regard for the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm.
Back then, it was presumed to stem from deference to their shared Buddhist roots, or maybe a prudent strategy, but who would have thought such a motive lay behind it.
Buddha Tianyin’s expression grew grave as he regarded the counterpart, declaring in a weighty voice:
“Tianshang! Given your present cultivation level and Cultivation Base, scarcely anyone across the Realm Sea can rival you. Why persist in this defiant conduct? You practice Mahayana Buddhism; must you truly incite massive calamities and ordeals? Recall that this Eastern Luli Buddha Realm served as your birthplace too!”
To his surprise, the opposing elder monk wagged his head vigorously, a trace of lament crossing his visage:
“Incorrect, incorrect, incorrect!”
“You’ve erred far too often!”
“Tianyin, as my former self, it’s no surprise you’re so limited in vision! Haven’t you realized that Mahayana Buddhism concerns all living beings throughout the vast Realm Sea, not merely this isolated spot in the Glazed Buddha Realm?”
“Mahayana Buddhism demands no vast calamities or ordeals; it simply aims to deliver supreme joy to every entity, a process that naturally demands trials. Absent trials, from whence arises joy?”
