Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2451: 219: Born of the Same Root (Part 2)

~4 minute read · 930 words

Starting with ‘Kong’ as the base, the four major causes and conditions unite, leading to the emergence of all creatures between heaven and earth.

The appearance of sentient beings brings forth ‘consciousness’.

Through ‘consciousness’, observing the four greats allows one to rediscover ‘Kong’.

Within this loop, the six great elements of Buddhism start to clarify gradually within Wang Ba’s thoughts.

This isn’t limited to Wang Ba alone.

Kong Zen, linked deeply in spirit, had previously consumed water from the Perfume Sea. Although it should hold no power for him anymore, right now, he suddenly experiences its benefits once more…

The Perfume Sea proves exceptionally unique. Together, the pair ascends gradually beside its edge, linking their thoughts, jointly contemplating the six core principles of Buddhism, as a ceaseless flood of realizations surges forth akin to cascading hill streams and surging sea tides…

Through mutual confirmation, time stretches from an instant into eons, with both delving deeply into the evolving realm of the six great principles’ shifts…

Within Wang Ba’s consciousness, the four great elements of earth, fire, water, and wind begin to harmonize uncontrollably, displaying tendencies to merge.

As these four elements oscillate, each unleashes boundless marvels, pouring into the souls of Wang Ba and Kong Zen.

Amid the merging of their spirits, a seed descends, swiftly rooting, budding, blooming, and yielding fruit.

Yet slowly, Wang Ba pulls away from his meditation on Buddhism’s six great principles.

Inside these six elements, he vaguely perceives a route that feels far more intimate to him.

“It’s the Dao of Dharmas!”

His soul quivered, prompting him to naturally forsake the reflection on the six great principles and devote himself wholly to his own Dao of Dharmas.

The principles of Yin and Yang, Five Elements, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Divine Patterns, Stars, and others swirl vividly in his mind, swiftly advancing to deeper depths, nourished like fertile soil fostering growth, extending limbs and foliage…

One foot after another, he advances toward Mount Xumi’s peak, sensing mental fatigue and vitality drain per segment. Right away, he gathers a palmful of liquid from the adjacent Perfume Sea and swallows it.

His thoughts refreshed once more, he resumes his journey.

Now, every stride transforms into an act of grasping the ‘Dao’.

With each advancing step nearing the top, his insight into various principles climbs to fresh heights.

The progress that had stalled since reaching the mid-Transcendence Tribulation phase now surges with renewed vigor in the Dao Domain’s expansion…

Clap.

His sole touches the last step of stone.

This appears to jolt him awake at once.

Fully submerged in the boundless principles, his awareness snaps free in an instant.

He gazes upward in a daze and soon spots the structures and pavilions crowning the peak…

His essence swiftly rejuvenates, leaving him in awe for a while.

At last, he comprehends the reason this Perfume Sea earns its status as the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm’s gem and why Second Realm Sea practitioners went to the trouble of transporting it here.

“It’s truly a marvelous treasure!”

Wang Ba couldn’t resist murmuring inwardly:

“The Second Realm Sea’s treasures indeed match their famed glory.”

“The loftier the cultivation level, the richer the rewards from its use… Regrettably, scant few can withstand its allure.”

From Kong Zen’s recollections, insofar as he was aware, Buddha Tianyin himself employed it in the Transcendence Tribulation Stage, securing his role as Buddha Lord. Alas, utilizing this gem back in Mahayana could have propelled him to superior heights.

He avoids entering the mountaintop temple, instead pivoting to begin the downward trek anew.

The climb served to purify the mind and comprehend the Dao, whereas the return eases the soul’s loads and methodically assimilates the insights earned from the ascent…

Kong Zen chooses not to accompany his descent.

He reaped advantages from Wang Ba’s serendipity. During Wang Ba’s engagement with the Perfume Sea, their consciousnesses intertwined, enabling him to plunge equally into that prior immersion. Presently, upon attaining the summit via Wang Ba’s earlier grasp of the four Buddhist great principles—approached from another perspective for cross-verification—they deepened remarkably, and slipping into the Perfume Sea’s lucid realm felt like parched timber encountering a blaze, flaring up without delay.

Wang Ba pays it no heed, pressing on with his way down.

Per step, his grasp on rules he had already pondered sharpens further into greater clarity.

Upon weariness, he halts, ladles yet another scoop from the Perfume Sea, imbibes, and his mind promptly turns serene and illuminated.

That said, he notices the potency waning considerably.

He remains untroubled, as for a relic like this, merely one encounter represents a priceless boon to him.

Certainly, it isn’t essential, yet it spares immense effort in time.

Mid-descent, he abruptly halts, compelled to peer below.

A dim silhouette emerges at the mountain’s base, vague and hazy.

In this instant, leveraging the Perfume Sea, he has withdrawn every bit of mana, Divine Skills, Dao Domain, and principles. Though exiting this mode requires but a whim, disruption means forfeiting the Perfume Sea’s boon right away.

After a brief pause, his soul restores its calm, and he proceeds downward.

The silhouette detects his presence but refrains from fleeing, mirroring his pace by ascending the path flanking the Perfume Sea, separated by the waters.

They draw nearer, sharpening into focus.

Wang Ba at length discerns the form rising from below; it’s a monk.

Catching sight of the monk, Wang Ba freezes in brief shock:
