Capítulo 2440: Chapter 216: Tianyin
In the previous clash within the Cloud Sky Realm where the Supreme True Buddha faced a major setback, Tianyin collaborated with the monks of the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm to activate the Ten Thousand Buddha Formation. This formation successfully blocked the advances of the Supreme True Buddha’s Tianshang Buddha Lord along with his Bodhisattvas.
By the moment we got back, the Tianshang Buddha Lord had withdrawn after failing to achieve his goal.
Indeed, each of the four Mahayana experts from the Four Great Realms possesses unique strengths. Taoist Friend Xiahou is sharp and devious, excelling in shape-shifting arts, while Heavenly Monarch Chao specializes in manipulating powers and taming beasts. I have some prowess in offensive strikes, but Tianyin stands out in the Defensive Path. His protective abilities are unmatched; even if Taoist Friend Xiahou, Heavenly Monarch Chao, and I combined our efforts, we might fail to breach his barriers.
Yet, the Supreme True Buddha’s might is utterly overpowering, far surpassing what we can aspire to. Though we halted the Supreme True Buddha’s assault last time, it drained our very essence, leaving us on the brink of collapse…
Wang Ba and True Man Gai navigated through the Chaos Origin Substance, observing the Black Realm rapidly expanding before them. Upon hearing True Man Gai’s explanation, Wang Ba registered a touch of astonishment and couldn’t resist voicing his thought:
“How is it possible for Mahayana Cultivators to reach such desperation?”
True Man Gai let out a gentle sigh:
“Tianyin is the eldest among our group of four. He was the one who first suggested probing the motives of Tianshang Buddha Lord, readying himself for his end right from the start… There are deeper details to this, and he’ll clarify them to you when the moment comes, so I’ll keep quiet for now.
Wang Ba’s surprise deepened at these words.
As their conversation continued, the pair abruptly arrived right in front of the Black Realm.
From a distance, the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm seemed shrouded in dense blackness, but getting close revealed a peaceful and calm essence subtly radiating from the shadows, much like the vibe from the Reclining Buddha that Wang Ba had encountered before.
Wang Ba instinctively directed his attention toward the Domain.
The Eastern Luli Buddha Realm resembled the other Domains Wang Ba had observed. Peering through its boundary, he could faintly detect shifts in the internal laws.
Sensing the presence of Wang Ba and True Man Gai along with their emanating energies, a silhouette swiftly emerged from the Glazed Buddha Realm and descended in front of them.
This silhouette belonged to a monk, ordinary in looks, clad in the most basic yellow robe. As he approached and spotted True Man Gai and Wang Ba, he offered a respectful and composed bow to True Man Gai:
“Yan Poluo pays respects to True Man Gai.”
The monk’s name deviated somewhat from the typical naming conventions of the Supreme True Buddha’s followers, prompting Wang Ba to examine him more closely.
From this individual, Wang Ba detected an aura reminiscent of cultivators, yet distinctly separate from that of the Supreme True Buddha’s monks.
The monk made no effort to hide it, so the aura was openly displayed, letting Wang Ba approximately assess his cultivation level, likely on par with Sect Leader Bai.
Inwardly, he marveled:
“Yet another at Tribulation Crossing Perfection.”
“Yan Poluo holds the position of overseer for the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm at present.”
True Man Gai transmitted this info mentally to Wang Ba while nodding amiably and presenting Wang Ba to Yan Poluo:
“Meet True Man Taiyi; he requested this introduction and desires an audience with Tianyin.”
At this revelation, Yan Poluo couldn’t help but look over at Wang Ba, inspecting him momentarily before a hint of astonishment crossed his features. He then politely saluted Wang Ba with a single raised hand:
“Ah, Layman Taiyi, your reputation precedes you.”
Wang Ba quickly reciprocated the gesture, responding with courtesy:
“Greetings, Master.”
Yan Poluo furrowed his brow slightly and inquired with some confusion:
“If I’m not mistaken, I sense a Buddhist aura about you, Layman Taiyi. Are you also practicing Buddhist techniques?”
True Man Gai chimed in from the side:
“That’s precisely why he’s here. He has grasped certain aspects of the Supreme True Buddha’s Secret Techniques and seeks Tianyin’s counsel.”
“The Supreme Demon Buddha… I see.”
Upon processing this, Yan Poluo showed clear surprise, then moved aside a bit and, with an inviting motion, said:
“Esteemed guests, do come in.”
Right away, Wang Ba and True Man Gai trailed after Yan Poluo, swiftly crossing into the Domain.
Differing from the Cloud Sky Realm and similar vast realms, as Wang Ba traversed the Domain’s edge, he observed the absence of a unified Taoist Field inside. Instead, the Domain stretched infinitely, segmented into a thousand minor realms.
Wang Ba’s eyes widened a fraction, and he murmured:
“Is this internal setup what Buddhism calls a small thousand world?”
Catching Wang Ba’s remark, Yan Poluo’s view of him altered subtly, and with evident wonder, he noted:
“Layman appears to have truly engaged with Buddhist Secret Techniques, even familiar with our sacred texts.”
True Man Gai, standing nearby, looked a tad confused and questioned:
“Do these one thousand small worlds carry any particular legends?”
Yan Poluo caught the query but avoided a direct reply, turning instead to Wang Ba:
“Maybe Layman Taiyi could enlighten us.”
At this prompt, Wang Ba didn’t hesitate, reflecting briefly before elaborating:
“This setup embodies Buddhism’s perspective on the cosmos and existence.”
He gestured toward one of the small worlds and continued:
“True Man, take a look: this small world splits into The Four Great Continents, centered around a place named Sumeru. Inside The Four Great Continents lie Nine Mountains and Eight Seas plus the Desire Realm Six Heavens, together comprising a small world.
“One thousand small worlds form a small thousand world. A thousand small thousand worlds compose a Middle Thousand World. A thousand Middle Thousand Worlds create a Great Thousand World… In Buddhism’s view, the universe isn’t segmented into the Three Great Realm Seas, but rather encompasses innumerable Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds.”
