Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2430: 212: Frightening Soar (Part 2)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
In the aftermath of the fierce battle above Zhang’s Ruins, Wang Ba stands serenely in the void, his azure-robed figure awe-inspiring amid the chaos, having subdued the two colossal Buddha statues and captured the Northern Great Bodhisattva. Observers from distant realms, including an elder from Cloud Sky Sect and figures from Quiet Cave and Reclining Buddha, express profound shock and admiration at his unmatched prowess below the Mahayana realm, reevaluating his potential as a peer rather than a mere pawn. The Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas, exposed in their true forms, retreat swiftly while conceding his supremacy in the Realm Sea, hinting at an overlooked vulnerability.

Capítulo 2430: Chapter 212: Frightening Soar (Part 2)

Wang Ba arched his eyebrow faintly, his eyes narrowing sharply:

"What’s the matter?"

The Western Great Bodhisattva let out a cold sneer, pressing his palms together to shape a bizarre mudra!

In that instant.

Deep inside the Reclining Buddha, thousands of miles distant.

Amid the Six Paths.

The silhouette wrapped in radiant white light suddenly experienced a jolt in his core upon witnessing that mudra!

A wave of discomfort crashed over him right away!

His thoughts shook, and right then, he pulled back every trace of energy that clashed with his role as the Six Paths Sovereign, swiftly drawing in his sight and awareness.

Nearly simultaneously.

Beyond Zhang’s Ruins, amid the emptiness.

Both the aged silhouette and the enormous concealed presence in the void sensed a jolt in their cores, as an acute, stabbing alert surged into their divine senses!

Right after, Wang Ba, facing the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas, also felt a cold shiver in his core!

A powerful wave of discomfort rushed in, causing his scalp to tingle and his thoughts to quiver!

His mind whirled, and the Yellow Dao Domain burst outward, reaching to seize the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas.

In that very second, thousands of miles off, the Reclining Buddha gradually parted its eyelids.

Its stare pierced boundless expanses in a flash, fixing on Wang Ba, the Western Great Bodhisattva, the Southern Great Bodhisattva, and the rest, ultimately settling upon Wang Ba.

Beneath that stare, Wang Ba's body went rigid all over.

The Reclining Buddha lifted its hand subtly, its plump fingers shining with sacred Buddhist radiance, and from afar, it lightly directed a point toward Zhang’s Ruins…

At Zhang’s Ruins, just before Wang Ba could ensnare the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas, he reflexively glanced skyward, catching sight of a beam of streaming light hurtling from the heavens.

That beam, plain and not overly vivid, streaked from the remote void, arriving as if in no time at all, or even quicker, brushing past.

"It’s the Tianshang Buddha!"

The aged figure in the void and the Master of Quiet Cave were quickest to detect the peril.

Their faces drained of color sharply, needing no words between them, yet acting in flawless harmony, each extended a hand to tear the void apart, intercepting the streaming light.

"Huh?"

With their actions, Wang Ba spotted it at once, his eyes naturally flicking toward the streaming light, watching it crash into them and then, on impact, shatter into myriad fine threads of radiance, faintly shaping a digit, hurtling at Wang Ba!

Even though it lingered thousands of miles distant, even as the fractured light crafting the digit looked splintered.

Still, Wang Ba's core filled with an oppressive dread of no way to evade or flee!

His Primordial Spirit turned faintly, the Land-Parting Staff poised to manifest.

And right then.

Inside Zhang’s Ruins, the awareness hidden in the vast ‘sea’ appeared to detect a disturbance, gradually ascending from the rage-filled ‘sea’:

"One after another, they keep barging in to harass me, is there no stop to it!!"

The whole of Zhang’s Ruins quivered subtly, as though some primordial being was on the verge of stirring from slumber…

These quivers escaped notice by neither the aged figure nor the colossal form, but thousands of miles away, the Reclining Buddha's eyes gleamed with a hint of astonishment and caution, its expression grave, its thoughts stirring faintly.

Countless miles off, the myriad threads of light seemed poised to engulf Wang Ba, yet they dispersed at that precise juncture, blazing intensely.

The radiance, akin to a sun hanging in the firmament, bathed everyone in its glow, cutting off their perceptions.

Wang Ba's eyes narrowed, straining to shield himself from the brilliance, catching a glimpse of the myriad threads of light swiftly wrapping up all the Buddhist figures — the Western Great Bodhisattva, the Southern Great Bodhisattva, Shen Fu, the young monk, and so on — then, the moment these figures met the light, they disappeared entirely in an instant!

The radiance then dimmed.

In the ensuing quiet, only the astonished cultivators lingered, along with Wang Ba and his furrowed brow.

"Did they really depart just like that?"

Wang Ba looked around, but no trace of a single monk remained, not even the fallen monk bodies could be seen.

A grave weight settled in his heart:

"Was that digit earlier… the work of the Tianshang Buddha?"

"He never even showed up, merely pointed from afar, and I couldn't dodge it at all!"

"Such is the terror of Mahayana? We're simply worlds apart in power!"

"Yet… why spare me and pull back without engaging?"

Wang Ba brimmed with uncertainty and bewilderment, but shortly after, the triumphant shouts of the cultivators reached his ears.

"Ruins Master! Victory is ours! We repelled the Supreme True Buddha! Hahaha!"

"Even the Cloud Sky Realm nearly crumbled before, yet we pushed back the Supreme True Buddha!"

A few level-headed cultivators shook their heads, commenting:

"This time, the monks numbered far fewer than the forces that struck the Cloud Sky Realm previously. The key factor was the Ruins Master, who single-handedly stalled three Great Bodhisattvas and even seized one, displaying such overwhelming power that the Supreme True Buddha's forces clearly lacked the nerve to press on. What a shame — had they lingered a bit more, we could have netted the lot of them."

The cultivators burst into boisterous laughter, and even the usually grim Cheng Lianzi and his group cracked uncommon grins.

No one had foreseen that the motley crew of Zhang’s Ruins could turn away the dreaded Supreme True Buddha.

This triumph owed much to the Ruins Master's rise, but without their endurance until his arrival, Zhang’s Ruins would surely have collapsed already.

For all this resounding success, Wang Ba's brow stayed lightly knit in silence, and then, sensing a shift, he turned his eyes upward to the sky.
