Yet following a brief pause, his call for aid received refusals from the other Bodhisattvas.
“We can’t assist! That antagonist is luring us to shift, and if we do, it’ll create an opening!”

“Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva is beyond saving now!”
“That’s right, Wisdom Scripture Bodhisattva got slain, and with Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva isolated, that antagonist will surely go after him…”

“Once the Southern Great Bodhisattva overcomes his foe, we can hold out for his arrival…”
Within the stream of mental exchanges, the disbelieving tone of Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva suddenly emerged:
“I—I don’t appear to be under assault?”
The mental communications hushed at once.
During that short quiet, a doubtful tone finally emerged:
“Perhaps… that antagonist has departed?”
“Or is this some kind of ruse?”
“Maybe the Southern Great Bodhisattva has triumphed over his enemy? And he’s rushing to aid us?!”
This suggestion energized every Bodhisattva!
And right as this notion surfaced.
The heavens illuminated!
As soon as the light returned to the sky, the Bodhisattvas automatically extended their perceptions to the maximum!
Far off, clashes of spells rang out, battle cries echoed, formations thundered in activation, a multitude of noises mingled, remote silhouettes of fighting monks and cultivators appeared, semi-spherical divine light shields fired off, cascades of sparks rained down, the purple-robed young man shielded by a nearby Buddhist bowl…
All these shifts in that instant flooded into the thoughts of these Bodhisattvas.
“Precisely!”
“No illusion!”
“Nothing on my end either.”
“None whatsoever.”
Through their connected minds, the Bodhisattvas verified beyond question as the area brightened.
No deceptions lingered in the vicinity!
“However…”
“Where did the antagonist and that divine beast go?”
“Where might he have vanished to?”
The Bodhisattvas compared their detections, yet no one sensed the Taiyi Taoist’s aura.
Still, as they scanned the area, rather than easing their guard, their anxiety mounted.
At the start of their joint assault, twenty-three had stood together, but in this brief time, six Bodhisattvas had perished or vanished. Such a toll led them to believe they confronted a Crossing Tribulation cultivator at the late stage.
Actually, they’d prefer battling a late-stage Crossing Tribulation cultivator over this!
The foe’s techniques proved utterly strange and crushingly dominant!
“Let’s unite immediately!”
One among the Bodhisattvas proposed swiftly.
The seventeen surviving Bodhisattvas, excluding Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva, had all formed pairs earlier in the gloom to evade the antagonist’s ambushes.
Hearing the call, the seventeen swiftly converged, steering clear even of the slain Bodhisattvas’ remains to block the enemy from concealing himself there.
With the seventeen assembled, the Bodhisattvas at last exhaled in relief.
Though short six from before, seventeen remained a formidable array, and with their supreme Dao Treasures, they held strong edge over a late-stage Crossing Tribulation cultivator.
Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva appeared rattled from the prior incident, and once united, he proposed:
“Why not set up a Formation!”
“With seventeen Bodhisattvas in a Formation, no matter his tricks, he won’t stand a chance against us!”
“A Formation?”
The Bodhisattvas displayed keen interest.
Right then, one Bodhisattva abruptly furrowed his brow:
“One, two, three… fifteen, sixteen, wait, we obviously number seventeen here, but including myself, why only sixteen mental links?!”
“Hmm?”
At these words, the Bodhisattvas’ expressions shifted in alarm!
As their intents stirred, linked perceptions immediately uncovered the irregularity!
They scattered apart on reflex, all zeroing in on Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva in their midst.
Wisdom Longevity Bodhisattva gave a faint smile, his features subtly distorting before shifting into True Man Taiyi’s visage, his tone fully altering to True Man Taiyi’s mild voice laced with mild sorrow:
“This exposes a weakness, yet it’s simple enough to mend.”
The Bodhisattvas’ countenances twisted in horror, their spirits plummeted, and prior to any response, the area sank back into boundless night!
“Haste! Unite now!”
“Wait, watch out for that antagonist! He’ll infiltrate us!”
